Is there anyway i can get it to when someone clicks that cell, that it will download that picture?? I have looked everywhere but i have not see anythign that will allow me to do that.
I am making an ASP page which has to parse some HTML, connect to another web server, and download and store the images locally so that they can be served without hitting the other server.
Does anybody know how to do this? I cannot find any component that will let me download files from another server in ASP. I can parse the HTML and get the image paths, so the problem is limited to connecting to that server and retrieving the images to the local server.
I have a site which gives access to 2,000 Hi-Res photos for free. We noticed that people began to use programs like Offline Explorer and WebStripper to download our entire collection all at once. - This is a problem because it hogs our bandwidth, and we are scared that people are going to use our entire collection for their own financial gain, when we are providing it for free.
We actually have two web servers, one is the website where the user interface is located, the other is a server where we store all the image files (at an educational institution, unlimited storage). We link the images to the external server. Is there a way in ASP to limit access to the images by setting up a rule like so:
"Only allow access to these images if the referer is www.ourdomain.com" ? We would prefer not to use any 3rd party software.
I have created a html email newsletter. After ages of working with it I managed to get it past the spam boxes .
Ok I would like to create some tracking. I know you can apply tracking based on a graphic that has been downloaded from the email. How would I be able to track an image download from the server.
I am looking for a script (ASP, VB, Javascript) that give user an option to download or open image. So if someone come to a web page and click on Download button, box will pop up and ask user to Save or open the image. It is like when someone download an attachment in Yahoo.
I wish to create a page with a validation code (something like rapidshare.de or gmail, when u want to submit, u will required to type the characters in the image shown for validation)
rtf files cause so many troubles,i.e.,allow the users to download the files, slow loading, incompatible with other browser, and so on. Do you think I should convert them to JPEG files to embeb them into HTML?
Once converting JPEG,it is easier to programming in HTML(i.e.,just add the image tag),load faster, and prevent the user from download the files?
I'm pretty new to this and im in the process of developing a site for a wildlife photographer in ASP and i need to implement an image search on the site including the functionality to add images to a lightbox etc. And to be honest i just dont know where to start... been searching and currently still searching .....
I have a JPG file residing on my server with an ASP file. I wish to call the ASP file and have it return the JPG file. I do not want to load the JPG into some kind of ASP Image Processing Object. I just want to return the file. I have already identified the content type with Response.ContentType = "image/JPEG" but can't get away from this text-only read/write system. I haven't programmed ASP in years and have since moved onto PHP, so I am having trouble doing some of the basics
I am using Response.BinaryWrite to display JPEG's to the browser. The problem is that in IE, one particular JPEG is loading very slow. Normal JPEG's take a few seconds, but this one sometimes takes up to 30 seconds. THe weird thing is that if I refresh really quick, the JPEG appears for quick second, and then the new Response.BinaryWrite kicks in. So, it looks like the browser has the image, but for some reason it is not finishing loading it into the browser. Code:
Im currently making a photo album website which has an ASP page to look in an images folder for any available jpg images.
What I would like is to extract the jpeg data such as width, height, title, bit-depth, comments etc.
All the fields can be found in windows xp if you right-click the image and then click Properties. Select the "Summary" tab and there is where all the jpeginformation is stored and can be edited.
I'm putting a website on a different server to what I normally use and I've had to adjust from Persits.Upload to Persits.Jpeg. I'm not sure what I'm doing here? My code works fine on the old server. Code:
I have a client who has had a ASP site with an Access database for several years. It stores information for the used cars on his lot. I have stored text in the database that points to the location of the image for each record. Each record will have a thumb image that is supposed to display in a list of vehicles available then the user can select an item from this list and a new page displays with the information and the regular size image. So far everything has worked fine exept for the display of the images which are stored in a separate directory called veh-photos. All I get are image place holders. I am using Dreamweaver 2004 and and Access 2000 for the database.
1.I want to show a image file of type '.tif' in the browser window; for that I'm writting as ASP code page.
2.This '.tif' type image can be shown better with 'Kodak Image Control'.
3.To have this 'Kodak Image Control' on my code page I just add it's ..ocx to tool box and then drag it from 'Toolbox' to the page.
4.Now after dropping this control to the code it's type is getting changed to 'object' instead of type 'ImgEdit'(and I think this is the reason I don't get correct result).
5.On one button's 'Onclick' event I'm calling a javascript function with which I'm setting a 'Path'and'Display' property of a control.
6.And want to show a image at location -- '..MFTDRCMF919685173-62.tif' which get shown in new browser window but could not get shown in that particular control. That means the path is correct, then what is the problem?
For better understanding of problem I'm pasting a following code which I've tried up till now...... .................................................. <%@ Language=VBScript %> <% OPTION EXPLICIT %>
<HTML> <HEAD> <META NAME="GENERATOR" Content="Microsoft Visual Studio 6.0">
<SCRIPT LANGUAGE=javascript> <!-- function showpic() { var path; path = document.frmtif.path.value; alert(path); document.frmtif.ImgEdit1.Image =path; document.frmtif.ImgEdit1.Display; window.parent.self.open(path); }
I am creating a dynamic ASP VBScript page, which gets data from an Access database.
In the database, there is a field which holds a URL to an image. I can get the image to display fine, but where there is no file that matches the URL (i.e. a missing image) I want to display an alternative, default image (e.g. one that says "Awaiting Image"). The field is never blank, but the image file may not exist for all records in the database.
I think what I am trying to get to is the following:
If file exists (using URL from database to get location of image file) then display image using the url from the database as the image source else display default image - hardcoded in program endif
I have had a go and come up with the attached but I get an error with my if statement...
I'm working on a project where I'm suppose to upload a image to a server. The uploading works fine but when I want to change the image I uploaded to another image I can't get the filepath of the old image to show in my "filefiled"....is it possible to set a "value" where I can retrieve a filepath in a form if the input type is "file"?
This worked fine for enlarging my images until i put it onto a secure server, anyone know how i can fix it ??? just comes up with the standard box with a red cross in it .. and the url when i click image properties says: http://url/images/<%=request.querystring( which is only part of the code)
I'm looking for a simple way to merge an image into another image. What i have is a screenshot uploader, and i want to make it so that when they upload the SS, the script will automatically merge a small copyright type image onto the bottom right of the picture.
I am trying to download files from one website to another for purposes of caching. In trying to do this, I created a VB dll component (using VB6), that used URLDownloadToFile, to allow me to download the file onto the receiving site. The sending site supports an ASP page that allows the file to be downloaded. The component works fine when run in debugging mode, placing the file as expected. But when not debugging (but registered), it reports that the file has been downloaded, but the file is not there.
I am looking for some VB Script tutorials possibly as a pdf file that one can download and take print out of as one single file. I can see a lot of VB Script tutorials on the net but not offered as a single PDF file all in html format and explained on different pages.
where I can download PWS Personal Web Server,or IIS from, ideally for as little cost as possible?I have XP Pro, but I've tried typing "inetmgr" in the Run field in Start Menu but it says it can't find inetmgr, and there is no IIS or PWS in my Program menus or submenus on my machine that I can see.
I had heard my XP Pro may have come with IIS but this doesn't seem to be the case with my pc. I have IIS on my server at work which has Windows 2000.Is it possible to copy an .exe install application of somekind which would be used to install IIS on another machine? What would the .exe file be called and where would it be located?
I have created a script which connects to a SQL DB, runs a query, writes the results out to a file (Using FSO) then presents the user with a link to download the CSV. As the file contains sensitive data, I dont want to leave the file on the server, and I dont want to rely on the user to delete the file after every export.
Looking for download asp script or java script for my zip files but without user know the location of the file/folder and can only log to this page from my authorized page.
I'm using ADODB objects to download the images. Is there any way I can disable 'Save' option on a prompt. Also, when display the image (it could be any of the following files: .doc, xls, txt, pdf...), I need to disable 'Save' option or hide the toolbar.
I don't know if this is possible, but does anybody know whether you can determine how long a file took to download. I want to be able to log how long a download took.
