ASP Button To Execute Stored Proc In Table Adapter
Is it possible to add a stored proc to a table adapter and execute the proc
inside an ASP button click event?
I have a table adapter called Claimers and a sp called AddWatch. On the
onclick event I would like to call the table adapter and execute the sp.
Note that the sp does not return records. Code:
SELECT ISNULL(Group, '') AS GroupCalc, MIN(start) AS START, COUNT(Id) AS Count FROM Table WHERE (Id = @CId) GROUP BY ISNULL(Group, '') ORDER BY start GO
What is the simplest way to open up a stored query in Access - I'v got this far but I need to open: qry_Listings.
set cnn = Server.CreateObject("ADODB.Connection") strCon = "Provider=Microsoft.Jet.OLEDB.4.0; Data Source=" & Server.MapPath("../database/listings.mdb") '//This one is for Access 2000/2002 cnn.Open strCon
as I'm in the process of performance tuning, I'm trying to receive a NUMBER type array from a Stored Procedure.I made a VARRAY OF NUMBER in my stored procedure. I'm not able to receive this in a Function in ASP.
I would like to call my stored proc and invoke the WITH RECOMPILE option. I can't figure out what to set in ADO to make that happen. how to make this work? BTW, I _don't_ want to create the stored proc using the WITH RECOMPILE.
I am trying to pass a VBScript Date variable as value to an ADO adDate parameter of a stored procedure (which runs in an SQL Server). If I add the parameter like this:
where oCmd is of type ADODB.Command and dParam is a VBScript variable of type Date then when trying to execute the stored procedure I get the following error:
Optional feature not implemented
I was able to get round this by passing a string value in an adVarChar parameter, but it would be easier and more readable with adDate and Date-type variables. Is this latter possible?
Is it possible to call a stored procedure asynchronously from an ASP page? We would like to be able to execute a proc and have the page continue to process without having to wait for the proc to finish. I know you can make a dll and call it from there, but we'd rather just be able to keep it simple and call it from the page if we can.
Would anyone be kind enough to give me a solution to the problem below please?
If for example in the stored procedure looks like this:
-- Initialize the SQL Server XML stored procedures EXEC sp_xml_preparedocument @xmlDoc OUTPUT, @xmlString
Insert into @TableBook SELECT * FROM OPENXML (@xmlDoc, 'books/book') WITH ( bookNameVARCHAR(100) 'name', authorVARCHAR(100) 'author' )
The question is supposing there is a node called 'Surname' but I am not adding 'Surname' to 'Author'. If I want to check 'Surname' value DOES exists and I want to replace it with 'Author' or if 'Surname' does not exist, just use 'Author' node instead.
I am not sure how you can use IF statement to check a node and put the value into SET @surname and then put something like author VARCHAR(100) '@surname' OR author VARCHAR(100) '@Author'. Just like switching it around.
I am trying to run the following t-sql stored proc from my VBScript page
Create Procedure getUserInfo ( @login nvarchar(8) ) AS USE proj_dashboard SELECT f_forename, f_surname, f_profile_id FROM t_users WHERE f_login = @login
basically I wasnt to pull in the login of the user pass it to the proc and pull out the info for that user. I use the following sql statement Code:
I've created a Stored Procedure which adds a new record and updates some more records and then returns the primary key for the added record.
The SP seems to work OK, but I'm having problems getting at the returned key in my ASP code:
"Item cannot be found in the collection corresponding to the requested name or ordinal."
A common error, but in this case I can't see why... I output the SQL instruction that is sent to the DB and have run it in Query Analyser and it runs OK and returns a single row, with a single column - the new primary key...
But when I try and access this in ASP, I get the error message....
I need to return XML from a SQL Stored Procedure which I will execute through ASP ADO code. Stored Procedure as below:
CREATE PROCEDURE pr_GetJobInfo2 @JobType int, @CntryID int, @JobTitle varchar(8000) OUTPUT AS SELECT @JobTitle = ltrim(rtrim(JobTitle)) FROM dbo.JOBS WHERE JobType = @JobType AND CntryID = @CntryID FOR XML AUTO [code]
Now the output parameter (@JobTitle) cannot be assigned to FOR XML, so what must I do ??? My ASP code reads as: ....
I have written a stored procedure that take 5 - 8 minutes to fully execute.. I wrote this routine as a stored procedure because I started to create all the functionality via ASP but I kept getting time out errors on my ASP page.
The problem is that when I call the stored procedure from the ASP page the server waits for the procedure to complete before returning the ASP page.. Is there any way to avoid this? I would like the user to be able to trigger the stored procedure and have the page returned right away..
I'm trying to update several rows to the same table of a datbase using ASP & an access database.
But I can't seem to get it working. I can get it working for one row but more than that won't work. The amount of rows that need to updated is never the same.
I want to understand the difference between submit button and regular button: <input type="submit"> and <input type="button">. My understanding is that submit button will send the entire HTML form to the web server, but regular button won't.
I have a problem that needs to pass HTML elements data back and forth in several ASP pages. I am using regular button to do that. But what's the approaches?
I have aproblem to transfer a data from table x to table y based on id. Its mean when 2 table have same id all data table x must move to table y. I don't know which command need to use is it insert into or update?
<% Dim conn Dim rs Dim MYSQL,MYSQL2
Set conn = Server.CreateObject("ADODB.Connection") Set rs = Server.CreateObject("ADODB.Recordset") Set cmd = Server.CreateObject("ADODB.Recordset") conn.ConnectionString = "DSN=prmm;UID=administrator;pwd=sa" conn.Open
I have a table with many txt boxes which i have inside a form with a submit button to an update page which adds all the details to a db. The problem is i have a another table inside the first e.g. table 2. i want to be able to update table2 by clicking a second submit button that would update it. Is it possible to have a form within a form or how can i do it??
Also i need to update the entire table in one go. For exampple if i have 3 records in table2 i want to be able to update them all by clicking the one update button. Code:
I have the following code but this is inserting manually. I want to make a query from table 1 and automatically enter the records into table 2. What needs to be modified? Code:
Have an app which dynamically creates table rows depending on records, these can be several hundred (don't ask). Hence a very long page at time. Each row includes a hyper link to a new page, and a link back to the original page.
Is there any method (maybe via js) where on leaving the second page l can redirect the browser to the table row the end user clicked on? Hence the bookmarking. Can do this via Visual Basic on the desktop app, but can't work it out on the web app.
I have a table produced with names across the top and services down the left hand side with boxes for numbers for people who recieve services then the info is written into a table in an access db. That works fine and here is that code:
I have two tables. Table A has 20,000 records, Table B has 2,000 records. Table A is what needs to be updated from the data in Table B. Only some fields will be updated and of course, only some records - both tables have the same field as a ClientID so matching up records should be easy.
Anyways, been a while since I have used ASP to work on things like this but would like to work through this one. I understand the process I believe, it is just how to make it go on to the next record once it has finished updating the first.
Basically, I was thinking of having it set up to reaad the top record from Table B, update applicable data in Table A. Delete that record in Table B. Move on to the next.
WEll I see that this issue is not yet solved ... So here's some more beef... There is an update the first part of the query that takes ~50 seconds and the connection gets cut off at 30 sec sharp. Logical as the default value us 30 sec. question :Does anyone know how to increase that value? I can't do it in the udl , it reverts back to nothing. Option: [1]I would/could also optimize that update using a hint to fasten it [2] Or try to execute the proc without using the dsn?
Using ASP 3 on an ISP account (I don't have access to the root of the server). I have a page that does some intake processing and I'd like to have it run every 5 minutes. Right now, the only way I can see to do this is to have a client task that wakes up every 5 minutes and opens that page.Is there a better way?
I recently moved an app over to IIS 6 from IIS 5. Everything works great! I use ASPExecute to run an .exe - but it doesn't fire. It just sits in the process window. Doesn't do anything. Is IWAM, or IUSR or both required to run it?
I need to use a VB6 dll like an ActiveX in ASP page. This dll use other .exe that is configured en DCOMCNFG and this dll is configured too in the same environment (DCOMCNFG) like a DllSurrogate with an specific user administrator.
I don't know how to configure this dll & IIS to it works with Anonymous authentication. I need to do this because is a development that it works in an Internet environtment and I can't assign a administration user in IIS 5 to the anonymous user.
