ASP Form - Order Amount Not Coming Through On Email
This is my first asp form so please be gentle with me It's a publications ordering form. I've got the form and the asp code setup, when the form is sent the name of the publication comes through but not the amount ordered - i'm sure i've made a simple mistake somewhere - can anyone spot why the order amount isn't coming through. Code:
I have seen a code to populate a list box from a data base table. Earlier I gave my own values using HTML coding like :
<Option Value="P-159">P-159</Select>. It was working fine but not after using code to build a list box, it is not coming in form value as input and next redirecting page retutns with error:
two codes pages are attached : profile page and search page. Profile page sends input to search page and search pages returns the output.
I have online order form that consists of textarea, textbox, radio button, check buttons and etc.. after that, click to submit via email with order form details to someone..
so i need to know what codings to do this to email to someone with order form details only..no need for db so can u please kindly show me how to do it?
I'm starting an ecommerce site from scratch and I want to have a fairly simple order form to support around 10 products. I'd like it to have a shipping calculator, have fields for credit cards, and be able to send customers a thank you email after their order. I do have some experience with the asp code and form building but not too much. Is there a script I can download or a fairly reasonable product I could purchase to help me with this?
I am a new user so I hope I am doing this correctly. If not, please point me in the right direction.I created a web site in 1995 using exclusively HTML becuase it was the easiest for a novice. When I created the site, I had about 70 types of invitations and I created an order form for each invitation type. Now I have more than 250 invitations and I would like to create a common (one page)order form. I do not want to have a shopping cart. The website is www.partyinvitations.com. Currently when the user clicks the invitation image, the user is hyerlinked to the order page. I would to have it so that the use is linked to a common order form and have that common order form have some specific information such as: 1. image of invitation being ordered 2. size of invitation being ordered to I need know the coding that needs to be placed on the sending page and the target page and anything else I need to do to make this work.
I know that the order of from fields from a form post are somewhat random. But, what about fields that have the same name -
<input type="text" name="something" value=""> First Choice <input type="text" name="something" value=""> Second Choice <input type="text" name="something" value=""> Third Choice <input type="text" name="something" value=""> Fourth Choice
First = "bananna" Second = "orange" Third = "" Fourth = "apple"
Will the values, in the delimited list contained in Request.Form("something"), always be in the order they are in the form? That is - bananna, orange, , apple
Basically when a customer sees the gift they want, they click order, which takes them to the order form....all i want to know is how i can get the gifts ID onto the order form. It may be better if you have a look at what im trying to do Example of this trying to work .
how to get started with this project. I want a page where a user can manually enter an order. Our users know our order# system and it's much easier to manually enter items as opposed to using a shopping cart and flipping through multiple pages. On the page would be the following.... 1) Billing address 2) shipping address 3) fields for order numbers
Billing and shipping seem pretty straight forward. Because I have no idea of how many products a customer will order, I'm picturing a new order# field being created when one is filled out. How do I do this? Then, assuming I get all these dynamically generated fields, how do I get them into an OrderDetails table?
I have a form with stacks of fields. This is submitted to a formmail.asp script at my isp which emails the values in the form to me.
Is there anyway using dreamweaver that I can define the order of the form fields when they are submitted to me via email? I eventually add the values in the form to a bit of paper, it would be handy if the email could have them listed in the order they are printed on on the bit of paper.
I know this question is stupid. But i need some advice for this. I am trying to develop a website, which will allow the user send to order form to the admin email. I am planning to use the CDONTS component method. Can I just to localhost server to test, whether the form can be send up to the admin's email. Or I must have the Hosting server to do that. Can Anyone suggest me, how to I test my scripts can be successfully run (at localhost), before I host it on the Web Servers.
I am learning more and more about asp but can't find and figure out where and what varialbles to add to this form. I want to be able to have this form email to me and to the person that filled it out as there receipt as well.
I don't have it set up to show the results after they fill it out that would be nice but not sure how to do that either. My main focus is getting the receipt sent to the person that filled it out. Code:
Creating a form that allows people to search a ticket database. One criteria I would like to add is to give the people the option to sort the results by selecting criteria for a dropdown.
My first thought was to create 3 dropdowns with the same name, get the data and add it to the SQL string. It worked great except for when someone decided to leave anything blank. Here are my dropdowns here: Code:
I am having a problem formatting an email message which comes from a form.
I am currently having difficulty with the <br> tag which I am using for line spaces within my email. I am getting an expected statement error message which is pointing to the line which is underlined below. I can't think what is causing this.
Just starting to play with scripts, and need a little guidance. I want to check to make sure that the email addresses users enter in a form are identical before it will allow them to submit. here's what i have:
the variable for the second email address is EmailFrom2
'validation Dim validationOK validationOK=true If (Trim(EmailFrom)="") Then validationOK=false If (validationOK=false) Then Response.Redirect("emailerror.htm?" & EmailFrom) If (Trim(Name)="") Then validationOK=false If (validationOK=false) Then Response.Redirect("nameerror.htm?") If (Trim(CityState)="") Then validationOK=false If (validationOK=false) Then Response.Redirect("citystateerror.htm?") If (Trim(SchoolName)="") Then validationOK=false If (validationOK=false) Then Response.Redirect("schoolnameerror.htm?")
Set myMail=server.CreateObject("CDO.Message") myMail.Subject="subject" myMail.From="me" myMail.To=request.form("email") myMail.TextBody="hello" myMail.Send set myMail=nothing
this script sends emails to some addresses but not others--and its based on the email service it's sending to. for instance, hotmail email addresses get the email, but mail.com email addresses dont get the email. i have tried sending it to other email hosts, too, and still, some work, some don't. what is going on here?
i created a global.asa file with notepad and put it in the root directory
<SCRIPT LANGUAGE="VBScript" RUNAT="Server"> Sub Session_onStart() session("mary") = "mary" End Sub
</SCRIPT> now in my asp code i put <%=session("mary")%>
and restarted my machine, and check the value of mary and there was none whats wrong here? I didnt put a reference in my asp page to the global.asa file. I assume asp looks for it itself ?
I put the same code into a simple test document to verify, except for mine has Response.Write. All my numbers came out negative. If I reverse their positions, I get positive numbers. Is the example above wrong or is there something going on with my PC?
I can't figure out why all of a sudden my variable s1 doesnt have a value once I hit the submit button. Here's my long extensive code. The important bits are the part where I response.write the s1 and s2 and s3 values, they show up on the first page but when I hit the submit button for some reason, they have no value anymore.
I've got a problem i would like you to help me out with. My company has got a client who sells meat and my senior tech lead has customized the cart to fit their needs and have created a despatch table with a "simple asp form" that allows them to scan their products in with a wi-fi scanner. Code:
Im having problems with my form, separately both forms work perfectly, but having problem sending the email once submitted, however the upload fuction is working fine. The message im getting is,
Request object error 'ASP 0207 : 80004005'
Cannot use Request.Form
/forminfo.asp, line 42
Cannot use Request.Form collection after calling BinaryRead.
Would anyone be able to give some guideance in ASP code as to how I would repeat a section of input fields in a form based upon the number of guests that are attending an event?
Basically, what needs to happen is if 3 guests are attending, I need the Name, address, city, state fields to repeat so they can be filled in with information.
Then all of the information from the whole form is submitted which returns an email to the administrator of the event.
I'm showing page contents text coming from database, normally the contents are plain text or in html formatting... it works fine.. but I want to add ASP code within page contents, as well... i did try but it dispalys ASP code as it is in the output...
is there any way to execute those asp code lines coming from database...?
A few days ago all my Request.ServerVariables began coming up empty. I was using Request.ServerVariables("AUTH_USER") for basic authentication but now its useless. Our server administrator tells me he installed some "patches" last week but doesn't think he caused the problem. All I can say is that before the patch they worked fine. Anyone have any ideas on where to look for a solution?
I run a site and one of our services is a "free online quote" .I've made the whole form, including the .asp backbone to send it off (the file itself is .asp, but im pretty sure the language is in VB). It was working fine, but now the forms will come back blank most of the time. I know they cannot be submitted blank, because I have required feilds there.
The weird thing is, it was working flawlessly, then it started to crap out once or twice, now it rarely submits a real one.It might not be my coding, but I am really lost at this point.I'm using godaddy for a host btw.
I need to populate a select form input (combo box) with about 22,000 rows of data. This is taking an unacceptable amount of time to load. And this data is only going to grow in the future.
I'm using a stored procedure to get the data. Not sure if that's the most efficient. I'm using classic asp. I'm open to any suggestions because I'm not even sure where to look to get options.
