I am a beginner in ASP and i have the following question: Is it possible to add manually things to the string that the page will send to the other page?
In other words: Do i have to use Form items to add something to the string?
My idea is:
<%Form=Form+"?Hgeheim="werkt"%>
it doesn't work. If it is possible could you please give a example code?
Can anyone add the syntax for a password to this code for me I can't figure out the syntax. I need to use mappath because I don't know the full path to the database as it's on a remote server.
<% set conn=Server.CreateObject("ADODB.Connection") conn.ConnectionString="Provider=Microsoft.Jet.OLEDB.4.0" conn.open server.mappath("database.mdb") conn.close %>
Am collecting numerical entries from text boxes and converting to numbers using:
F1 = Round(CDbl(Request.Form("amout1")),2) F2 = Round(CDbl(Request.Form("amount2")),2) F3 = Round(CDbl(Request.Form("total")),2) F4 = F1 + F2
If F4 <> F3 Then Session("ErrorMessage") = Session("ErrorMessage") & "- Your control amounts do not tie to the Total Deposit amount.<br>" End if
etc.
Sometimes it works, but other times, although the numbers tie out, the calculated amounts are not coming up as equal. I've written the results (F3 & F4) to the screen and they equal, although the server doesn't think so.
Is this an issue with binary number conversion or something. Should I be using something other than CRnd (Delphi has something like C$ or CCurrency)??
The response is just a comma separated values string like: 1,0,2,3,0,Transaction Success,Etc
Once I hit the submit button the server returns a string response. I do not want the user to ever see the response, but need the response string to create my own page. How do I retreive that string and use it??
I have the following test.asp page which needs one parameter querystr but my querystr is a very long string value. When I send a long value the query string is getting truncated after some characters.
Can you please kindly share the code segment to workaround how to pass such a long string value to a asp page. This is how I invoke the test page:
http://localhost/?querystr=select ............ from xxxxx
but part of my query string never gets passed to the asp page appears asp as a limitation on max string length can you please provide me a workaround how I can overcome and pass the right string to asp.
How do I add additional IP's manually in Windows 2003 Web Edition? I was told to add them to subnet mask? I am not sure about this as I am new to it. Also, in remote desktop connection perhaps? Where after I login?
I have a page with 2 frames. The first one has a link that loads a page in the second frame. This page has a button on it. When the button is hit, the page does some processing and loads another page in the same frame (the second).
I use ASP and response.redirect or javascript in the onclick event of the button to do the redirection. When I refresh the page by clicking the button on the browser (IE), the second frame becomes empty. Please note that the src attribute of the frame is not set.
If I set the src attribute of the second frame to some asp page and then navigate to another page inside the same frame, when I refresh the page, the initial asp page is loaded in the frame regardless of the asp page currently loaded into the frame.
It seems that when you refresh the page, the frames are reinitialized no matter what pages are currently loaded in the frames.
I solved the problem by redirecting to the main page in the top frame, passing some parameters and resetting the src of the frame to the desired asp page. Thus, when the page is refreshed, all the frames are properly refreshed too.
Is there a way to 'force' a submit on a form with out actually allowing the user to press a button ? For example...
step1: A from is filled out by a user, then they click the submit button.
step2: The form is 'post'ed to an ASP page which writes the values to a database. So far No problems. But..
step3: Now I want to 'post' these values again to another page without any user interaction.
My ideas were:
1) I know you can get the form values from Request.Form("myVar"), so I thought of making a 'dummy' form and setting the 'values' of the form variables to these Request.Form("myVar") valiables, but I don't know how to 'submit' them to another page again.
i have a series of .asp pages that i am dividing into model, view, control logic. my view collects a whole bunch of data and posts it to the controller. im wondering if there is a way to somehow "re-post" this same data to my model page.
in short, is .asp capable of taking data posted to a page and re-post that same data to another page?
I'm developing an Asp.NET system to take a CSV file uploaded via the web, parse it, and insert the values into an SQL database. My sticking point comes when I try to split() the string returned by readline() on the file.
The following code snippet works for me: tokens = "one, two, three, four".Split(",") for each token in tokens response.write("<td>"+token+"</td>") next
However, if I take the next line in the CSV, read using StreamReader.ReadLine on the PostedFile.InputStream, I receive "Object reference not set to an instance of an object." which I have narrowed down to be my string holding the line. Further investigation reveals that no other string member functions work on my line (.ToCharArray, .ToString, etc).
I suspect that StreamReader.ReadLine is not correctly returning a string, even though Response.Write(line) displays what I would expect .....
I have a form in which several elements are expected to be all digits. Some of those elements can be left empty, but if specified they must be all digits. I have this Sub to edit them: ....

I have a form on my asp page that sends data to an emailing script. I am working with other peoples code which is causing a lot of hassle. Is there any way of sending a Bcc address command from the form rather than the emailing script?
what do you think is the best way to implement an "add new row to table" functionalilty? am using asp(obviously )im currently using document.createElement with javascript, but im having a hard time retrieving the data.am also thinking if this is really the best way to do this.or if this would work with all other browsers other than IE...
how to add a password to using this connection string
<% set conn = server.createobject ("ADODB.connection") conn.Provider="Microsoft.Jet.OLEDB.4.0" conn.Open(Server.Mappath("dat48372.mdb")) set rs = Server.CreateObject("ADODB.recordset") SQL = "SELECT Price FROM DABRadios WHERE (ID LIKE 6)" rs.Open SQL, conn showall=true %>
and I know that access table cannot have a picture in it, only a access form using OLE, but how do I get my asp page to display a picture for every record? The picture would be a picture of the product with the Stockcode as the filename - m001110.jpg?
I have an ASP page with a table that fills with records from a loop. Every row gets a link to another ASP page with data from the row. The link is written as <a href=newpage.asp?value1=xx&value2=yy .... and so on. Now I try to let the user specify a number that should be sent to the other page. But I do not want to clutter up every row with each an input field, so I thought instead I would place it above all the data rows. When the user clicks on the link, I want to include the input field to the querysting. The problem here is that I cannot figure out how to refer to the name of the input field.
I have just finished building my first shopping cart in asp and MS Access. Originally the shopping cart was to be built for products with no size and colour, however as usual the goal posts have moved and I now need to incorporate a size and colour option for each product. Could anyone explain to me how I can go about doing this i.e. adding the different sizes and colours in the admin website and then linking them to a specific product when it is displayed on the products page? I know they both need to be in a dynamic drop down box when displayed on the products page within the shopping cart, but I am just wondering how to read the correct values out from the table depending on which product is being displayed. I have a normal products table at the moment with general fields i.e ID, name, description etc.
I have a web page hosted by server1. I need to add a link to a web page hosted by server2. This part is simple. However, I also need to give the linked web page the user id for the user that was validated in server1 (it's in a session variable).
At first, I thought the following would work: mywebpageonserver1.asp: Response.AddHeader "MYUSERID", "whatever" Response.Redirect "http://server2/mywebpageonserver2.asp"
i have a page that enters numbers stored in different values e.g monday tuesday wednesday thursday friday into a database. is it possible in asp to add those values up and store the added up value in a seperate field in the database bascially total =monday+tuesday+wednesday+thursday+friday How would i do that in asp.
I am using Dreamweaver MX to create ASP and MS SQL Server for database. I got a few fields like Value1 - Value5. So i have create the recordset of the 5 fields and i am extracting the total count of each field. Now i got 5 recordsets showing the total of each field. So is it possible to add the value of the 5 recordset together into one value? And is it possible to use the value of the recordset to do some simple math addition, subtraction, multiplication and division?
I need to add a ppicture to my Database.. The table is accessed through ASP Recordset but having troubles trying to insert an individual picture to each record?
I need to be able to add multiple records quickly, for example I need to add
name value abc 1 abc 2 abc 3 abc 4 abc 5 abc 6
etc etc, does each record have to be added separately, or is there a way I can add a chosen number of records, lets say 10, and have the value field increase by one each time?
sometimes I might have 30+ simple records that need adding quickly, and each time the first records value will be one, and each record after will increase by one, is there a way to solve this problem or does each record have to be added separately?
