when the user clicks on the edit account_details link, a web-based form page opens with text fields like account_no, account_name, date, type etc.
the design i want to implement is when the user enters the account_no field on the form & goes to the next field, the remaining fields on the form should be auto populated with the respective data for that account_no from the Oracle database.
Next the user can edit any of the form fields & save it back to the db.
I just recently created a html form and one of the fields required a date. I want to make it so it will insert the date when the form is being filled out. For example, if I fill out the form today I want today's date on it.
I am going to connect this form to a MS access database, the database also has a field "date". How would I like all these together? Also, I want to send a notice to a specific email whenever someone submits the form.
I have downloaded and installed an ASP Calendar offered for free by Manohar Kamath from his website. I've modified it to accept two new fields (sStart_Time & sEnd_Time). I want to be able to have drop down selections for the time entry, but do not know how to accomplish this.
Please take a look and tell me if this can be done using the <% =Server.HTMLEncode(sStart_Time) %>"> value for this piece or if there is some other way to accomplish this, please let me know.
If I leave it as the following, it works OK, but I want to make it easier for people who are adding to the database: Code:
I am trying to retrieve the last value in my table in the ID column and auto input it in a field in my form when I open the form page (form.asp). This is what I have but it is obviously not working. ? <% dim Rs, SQL, conn, ID
Set rs=Server.CreateObject("adodb.recordset") SQL = "SELECT TOP 1 ID FROM Table1 ORDER BY ID DESC" Rs.Open strSQL, conn ID = Rs.fields("ID") end if %>
I have an ASP web form that I want to populate fields based on the first field choice. Example I have 4 fields item, price, delivery, availability. I have all these items setup in an access table. When a user chooses an option from the item drop down, the price, delivery, availability will then populate. I have already made my connection to the database, and created the drop down for field one from the choices. How do I now populate the corresponding fields.
i should populate all the fields in the form just by selecting a single value in combo box. for example, my combo box contains client id s, and if i select an id, it should retreive the client name, address, coiuntry, city , fax etc.
how is this possible? if i use <select onchange="" > propety, i can change only a single value.
how can i get two text boxes to fill from a users selection from a dynamically filled drop down list.(called from a database)
i can create the drop down no problem and call the data from the database just how do i getthe page to refresh and auto fill the other two fields depending on the users selection
I have a website (html) that I list dates and events on a couple of pages, I wanting to know if anyone knows if I can create asp pages and utilizing putting events by date in sql to create an interface that would make updating these html pages easier than searching -changing dates of events-changing events every week easier?
I need to create a webpage with an HTML table that keeps track of certain data. I have created the table and hardcoded all the nonchanging cells.
The problem is the data I need to update the table with is FTP'd to a webshare in a .txt format. I need to take this file, parse it and update the table every morning at 745.
I have found ways to do it if the webpage receives a hit, but I still need it to do it on weekends and holidays when we are not in the office, because this file will be overwritten with the new data file the next day.
I started this db 8 months ago but left it for 5 months. Now I am back and trying to get in the swing of things again. My question? Can I design one form that will populate two tables, and if so, how? (Simple answers please. I am only partially literate in programming chit chat)
I have a form to edit my database. I coded the post form fine. But I have never had to pull from the database and populate checkboxes (The ones check on the post form). I have no idea where to start. Here is the code from the post form: Code:
I am trying query the data from db and populate in the web form's textbox field. so far I cannot put that record into the text field box. anyone has idea on that, below is my sample code:
I have the following code that pulls a record based on a form submittal then populates a form with the fields so the record can be updated. My problem is in my query line more than likely in my keyset types and what not. Code:
We have an ASP site that hits up an Access database of categories of products and products. (e.g. Categories = Napkins, Tablecloths; Products = 20x20 Napkins, 21x21 Napkins, 54x54 Tablecloths, 60x60 Tablecloths)
We currently have select boxes that when you select a category, it populates the next select box with the proper list of products (i.e. I select Napkins as a category, I get a listing of the Napkins)
We would like to put a clickable link before each of these select boxes that would pull up a pop up with links from the records from the proper table.
(e.g. I click the categories link and a popup with html anchor tags of Napkins and Tablecloths appear) I click on the Napkins anchor and it populates the Categories Select box with Categories and Napkins being selected.
my database, sqlplus oracle, has a column ccexpiry, whch is set to date. In my form in asp, there will always be an error whenever i pass in a date that is not in the DD MMM YYYY which is the standard for oracle. My qn is how can i pass in a date that is in DD/MM/YYYY format? Code:
Would anyone be able to give some guideance in ASP code as to how I would repeat a section of input fields in a form based upon the number of guests that are attending an event?
Basically, what needs to happen is if 3 guests are attending, I need the Name, address, city, state fields to repeat so they can be filled in with information.
Then all of the information from the whole form is submitted which returns an email to the administrator of the event.
I've done lots of sites in ASP and i'm still bored/tired of creating Add/Edit/Delete form & processing pages for Product tables, Customer/User tables, etc. I'm looking for a script/package that will make these types of pages easily and automatcially given a table from my (access or otherwise) database.
Is there a script/package out there in ASP which will create such forms quickly and easily with very little work on my part? these would be pages i'd put in the administration side of the sites i create to manipulate the data.
I am at wits end with this issue. I have several sites that have forms on them. For quite some time I was getting automated submissions with all types of jibberish in the form fields. Usually this contained html links. I did some server side scripting that prevented such things and for awhile it worked. Now they are back at it but only submitting stuff like the following.
Is there a tried and tested method to stop this from happening. I guess I could test the characters to see if they are numeric and kick it out if there are numbers in things like the name field, etc
I have a form that I want to auto fill in with database data. When the customer number is typed into a textbox and a button in clicked, the database will be queryed and pull back that record.
Once pulled from the database I would like the form text boxes to automatically fill in with the data brought back. Can this be done? If so, can someone show me a small example of the easiest way to do this?
When a visitor enters the basket section of my ecommerce application he has to press on a button “click to view basket”. The submit button posts the users IP address back to the form. Below is the code:
I have tried to automate the submit function by placing the following code into the body of the web page:
<BODY onLoad="window.document.postform.submit()">
This works, in that the records in the basket are displayed automatically without clicking on the submit button however the screen starts going berserk and the form keeps posting to itself i.e. the “ProducsTotalBasket.asp” page mentioned above. It simply won’t stop & keeps looping and posting over and over again.
I am working on a script and I have a form to a page to be submitted (POST-ed) to an external site.
I need that when the user submits the form, first step is to send an email using an asp script and only after that to post the information to the web site. I can send the email but I don't know how to post the form automatically after I send the email. I think I can use javascript, but maybe there is a better way of doing it?
I have an asp page which has a number of form fields on it (about 50). 2/3rds of these fields are used to store username (windows username) and date (todays date). I want these fields to be locked so the user cannot enter any info into them. The infor will be grabbed from the current user and the current date.
However, I only want these fields to be populated only when the left most field is changed. Once the fields have been populated the username and date fields will change with however is logged in and the new date.
I have a form that will be filled out by users, what I would like to do is when the user selects a state from a dropdown list i want to have the City field show select options based on their state. I know this can be done but I dont remember how.
next response.write(myVariable) The problem with that is that response.write(myVariable) only prints the last field in the form.
I know that if I move the response.write(myVariable) INSIDE of the loop it will print correctly but I am not trying to print the form fields BUT I AM TRYING to store them in ONE variable.
Code to email form data via ASP. Forced to use CDOSYS by 2003 server at host. It sends an email fine, but the form data is missing. Where my going wrong? Could it be the html file's form actuating the .asp file? Could it be an enctype issue? Or bad ASP syntax... Code:
