Automatic File Forwarding From Webserver To Local Server
Having finally mastered freeASPUpload, I really want the files being uploaded to the web server to automatically be forwarded to my local inhouse server. I'm sure there has to be a way.
im trying to create a intranet site which copies files to the server. im guessing i should use filesystemobject to achieve this but im not sure on how to accompish this.
my current setting is user will click a link in the web page and choose the place that they want to save the file to.
Now i am trying to auto download the file. that means user click the link, it straight away download to for eg. "D:Test". my problem is the web page is at server. user will access the web page thru http, but how am i going to auto download to the user's local drive?
I am using windows 2000 server with IIS already install. I have copied test.asp file to wwwroot directory and tried to run it but it did not work ..and i gave me this error msg.
http://localhost/test.asp or http://127.0.0.1/test.asp or http://my_server_name_here/test.asp
The page cannot be displayed There is a problem with the page you are trying to reach and it cannot be displayed. HTTP 500 - Internal server error Internet Explorer
I have even tried to run the iisstart.asp and localstart.asp which already exist at wwroot directory when IIS is installed. However, it still could not work.
Does anyone know why ? I how do i know that the webserver and ASP engine is working properly.
I have created a form that sends email thru my local server. What I want to do is send the email thru our corporate Exchange server. Does anyone know how I can accomplish this task? Please advise. Thanks.
I've been trying to create a test site - The site uses ASP with VBscript and talks to SQL Server 2000. I was able to complete and test it on my locally on my computer using Microsoft’s IIS 5.1. The website communicated fine with the database on the webserver/network server
However, when I tried to save the site from my local computer to the wwwroot folder in the server’s IIS hoping to make the internal site available to everyone here the resulting error comes up when we try to open a page with a recordset connected to the database: -
Our Error: - Microsoft OLE DB Provider for ODBC Drivers (0x80040E4D) [Microsoft][ODBC SQL Server Driver][SQL Server]Login failed for user 'AUMBSDDSSIUSR_AUMBCOMP'. /mysite/htm/test2.asp, line 8
I am creating an asp application which is essentially a file management app. I am trying to get my head around a technically issue wonder if someone can offer some help.
I want to be able to force the download of the files are attached to a particular record. The code which i use to force the download is:
I need to provide a way to download a software and its corresponding manual from a web page.
So far I have done the sign in page where people give their data. I will then give access to a page with a link allowing to download the required file(s).
My worry is how to avoid that somebody grabs the URL of the file and send it to another for downloading directly from the server. What can I do to avoid this ?
I have a web server running on a machine. When the users connect to that machine, it loads the ASP page. The ASP page has a ActiveX control on it and it gets downloaded to the client's machine. I have made the control as a signed control so there is no problem in download.
Likewise, in the virtual directory path on the server, I have one clientsettings.MSI and that needs to be run on the server. Whenever the user tries to connect to the web page, in onload event of the web page, the .MSI file should be installed on the clients machine. For this to happen what all needs to be done ?
Will IIS6.0 recognize a global.asa file located in a subdirectory on the webserver?
I'd like a file that will execute whenever a file in the subdirectory is browsed - or, at least it is executed the first time a file in the subdirectory is browsed.
An application runs on server, and is used for Hour-registration. Now I want to run the application local, I use SQL Server 2005, and managed to fix connection changes.
But now, I get this error everytime I run the application:
Microsoft VBScript runtime error Error Code :0x800A01CA
Error source : Error Description :Variable uses an Automation type not supported in VBScript
if anyone had any script that can allow a page to run some code and then kick off a file download.Maybe like many places do saying download should start automatically or you can "click here".I appologise if this is easy to work out from the source of one of those pages, but my view source seems to have died and I thought an answer from here might be quicker than fixing it!
I am not an expert but I am trying to create an application where I need to connect my website to the user's(basically my client) database in access and then I will read the values from the database in the local drive and upload all the values in the database at my webspace. I will have everything like the database name and the password....so how can I do this
What is the best way to set up a server with MSSQL on your local machine. I have IIS set up, and am wondering if there is some way to get MSSQL for testing purposes for a reduced cost? From what I understand, a typical MSSQL license is around $8,000, am I right
I am using Windows XP Pro, and since I updated to Internet Explorer 7 I am having problems getting web sites to work on my PC in Internet Explorer using the local IIS web server. These web sites are using ASP and Access databases.
The two errors I get are: Operation must use an updateable query or Cannot modify the design of table 'TABLE_NAME'. It is in a read-only database.
Does anyone know how I can get this working so I can test my web sites locally before uploading them to the live sites?
I have a SQL server db set up locally. I have a local DSN set up. I have DW connected to the SQL server db and can create Bindings and use Server Behaviors without any problem. When I try to test the site locally in the browser, I get the following error:
"Microsoft OLE DB Provider for ODBC Drivers (0x80004005) [Microsoft][ODBC SQL Server Driver][SQL Server]Cannot open database "xxxxxxx" requested by the login. The login failed."
What i want to do is pass strpath1 to my locally ran script which is the bit at the bottom but i cant find a way to do it i have tried request.querystring("strpath1")
I would like to use ASP to play wave file however i'm not really an ASP programmer (i'm more into java) thats y i dont know how to do it. I would like to ask for a little help regarding this matter.

anyone could assist me in finding an ASP script to find the current playing media in a local Windows Media Services server. Since the particular stream is a broadcast, it will have constantly changing media.
On a remote server running W2K and thus IIS 5 I have session variables declared in a global.asa file in the root of the application which are passed and visible on all pages with no problem. This was also the case on my localhost before (127.0.0.1), also on W2K / IIS 5. But now for some reason one variable doesn't pass through at all and the other is taken as a String on the localhost.
The problem area in question in my Global.asa file (which is identical on the remote and local servers)
<script language="vbscript" runat="server">
Sub Session_OnStart CInt(Session("indx"))=0 CInt(Session("total"))=0 ... End Sub
I made a image upload a while ago, but too many people submits too large images (this is no problem, since ASP Upload won't upload too large images) but people gets frustrated when their images are not uploaded!I want to do so that you can't submit the form if the pictures are too large. I was thinking of doing a asp functions to check the file size and then pass the result to a javascript function, which will then alert the user and denie him to submit the images.I know how to do the javascript part, but I don't know how to check a local file's size with asp? I'd appreciate if someone could help me! Thanks.
I need the sumbit onClick() to result in the completed form being emailed to copemtg@msn.com, also what files do I need to create to host it on my own site, i.e. is <script src="loanapp.js"></script> a file i need to create seperatly?
i want to forward users to desired page which they will specify in this URL.. means if user type: http://myweb.com/PG , then he will be redirected to http://myweb.com/calculate_pg.asp
or if he type http://myweb.com/AQ, then he will be forwarded to http://myweb.com/calculate_aq.asp and so on!
I created connection to the Microsoft Access DB using DSN from my ASP page.
<% Set vpconn = Server.CreateObject("ADODB.Connection") vpconn.ConnectionString = "File Name=c:inetpubwwwrootDBDNAME.dsn" vpconn.Open ' Close connection immediately after opening for testing vpconn.Close Set vpconn=Nothing %>
The Microsoft Access, for every database opened for shared use, creates an .ldb file to prevent users from writing data to pages that other users have locked. Whenever the last user closes a shared database, the .ldb file should be deleted.
It is working; the .ldb file is deleted immediately after closing connection but not if you open/close this connection from your ASP page.
What I found, the .ldb file is deleted with about 70 seconds delays after closing connection from an ASP page.
Is there a way to save a file from a remote location to my local computer with asp?
Let's say as an example that I would like to save a file from http://www.somesite.com/file.txt to c:file.txt on my pc using an asp page located either on one of the two locations?
I'm working on a document management app that saves scanned docs as PDF files in a local directory, then saves document metadata in an Internet-based SQL server.
The SQL server is then queried to retrieve document info and links are created that point to the files.
The code points to the proper local directory and file, but I can't get the browser to open the document in a target frame. If I open a test doc locally it works fine.
