Blocking Countries
On my site holypal.com got about 100 ips of users from nigeria spamming, the coder installed a ban ip feature and I banned them one by one manually through admin panel, but then more are coming. Most of my members are from the us, also banning/blocking ips daily is a hassle as it goes to the mssql database and is blcoked from there, how to block all countries like nigeria and ivory coast at once.
oh my site is using easycgi windows host, so I can not configure the server. so I didn't know if I can use .htaccess ?
Blocking Mac Address
we have a intranet project that we intend to develope ,basicly we like to prevent the users to logins with the same username to the system multiple times , now i really don't know what would be the best methods to control the users ( sessions , coockie , mac adderess ) , so i was thinking to open a mac address column inside the users table and limite the user by mac address machine ?

The client I'm working for has an internal website and an external website. They would like to combine the two into a single website. Basically, we own an IP domain and any requests to the site from an internal source will be made by a client with said domain. So I would like some content on the pages and some directories to block access if the requester does not have the correct ip.
They're running Windows Server 2K3 with ASP enabled. Now, I've already done something like this with php and .htaccess (basically I block any page content with php and block directory access, listing etc with .htaccess) but I'm really not sure how to go about it with this Microsoft stuff.

I have a form on an .html page that I have a visitor submit the results from which redirects to an ASP script. The problem is the visitors are viewing the source of the page and going directly to the .asp file instead of filling out the form.
I'm trying to use the following script so the page can only be accessed if the user is sent from the form. If they try to access it directly, it will send them back to the page with the form. Here is what I'm using, but it keeps blocking access to the page wheter the form is filled out, or access directly:

how to grab the refering URL of a visitor to my site from another site ( I have tried Request.ServerVariables (HTTP_referer) which returns a blank value, although it seems to work fine for pages within my site).

I run a web site that uses various forms to send email to customers. For example, I have a "Forgot your password?" script and a "Email this page" script.I've found out that when a user sends an email via my site to a Hotmail address, the email just "disappears." I'm assuming Hotmail is considering the email SPAM because it was send by my web server? The site uses ASP and I've tried using CDONTS and CDOSYS (which I specified a SMTP server for) and nothing seems to work for Hotmail.
A large portion of my customers user Hotmail, so banning it really isn't an option.Is there anything I can do to prevent Hotmail from blocking my site's emails?
Referring Pages
I have a site that has some pages that have sensitive information. Users must login before viewing them and if they try to view it beforehand, they are bounced to the login page. What I want to do, is point the browser back to the page that sent them to the login page once they successfully logged in.

Back To Referring Page
if there was an easy way to have a form set up so that when the submit button is pressed, it goes to a confirmation page that contains a back button that goes back to the page that called the form.
Basically, I'm looking at a scenario where 10 pages can call the form, but I want to user to be able to click the back button and be returned to the page they were on when they click on the link to the form. I thought that maybe using javascript:history.go(-2) would work, but if the form is reloaded for any reason, gaing back 2 pages goes back to the form.

I want to have a series of links (flags for Italian, English, and German) on the top of every page, each of which when clicked will go to a script and change a session variable called language to the respective language. Once the session variable is changed, I want to send them right back to where they came from.
So, if they enter a page on the site that is optimized for "Local Area" and it is in English, IF they click German or Italian it will go to the script, redirect back to "Local Area" with the Session var being set appropriately.
Keep in mind though that I need to be conscientous of SEO, so I want to keep querystrings to a minimum. Ideally, what it would look like is this AFTER the redirect:
www.mysite.com/local-area.asp for English
www.mysite.com/local-area.asp?l=i for Italian
www.mysite.com/local-area.asp?l=d for German

both sites have their own global.asa files and both appear to be throwing up an error referring to a file that is in a different location

SSL In Sites
I'd like to use SSL encryption to provide secure pages in an ASP.NET application. I know I can specify complete URLs (e.g. https://www....), but for several reasons, I'd like to use relative URLs.
Is there a way to do this and if so how? Also, is there a simple way to specify at a "root" level in an ASP.NET app that ALL pages should be secure automatically?
Run Two Sites
We have been assigned the task of running two ASP sites on the same IIS server. Currently we have site A running as http://SiteA on port 80 as the default site. Can we run another SiteB on port 80 as http://SiteB.? We have created another website as SiteB but if i try to configure it with port 80 it gives an error message that "Another site mayalreasy be using that port".

How To Use Different Sites In IIS On WinXP Pro

Same Sessions In The Two Sites
I am using two copies of that website ... both copies are under same domain but in different folders ... In my site, there are some pages which are not available to everone .. the site requires from a user to enter his/her username and password .. I use session varibles to check if the user is logged in or not on every single page ...
The problem is when I log in the first copy of the site and then move to the second copy ... the second site things that I am logged in !! this is because I use same session varibles name in all copies ... I can fix this problem by changing session varibles names in one of the copies ... but this will mean I have to modify 100 pages ... is there any other solution for my problem?
Updateable Web Sites
I'm looking for some code that will enable me to create a updateable web
site. So when I design a the front end all I need to do is drop in some
server variables on the html pages and the asp code does the rest via a
database.
The code would be portable therefore small changes will allow me to apply to
many sites, ideally it should also contain a text editor.Is this feasible ?
I've looked at cms, but this doesn't seem to give enough flexibility or am I
missing something ? and finally asp.net has some sort of portal system
(matrix), how does this fit in ?
For the moment I think the best way forward is this code (or framework) that
will enable the client to update, until a better sollution.
One Server - Many Web Sites
I deleloped a "template" web site for a national organization. They have 2000 members and wish to offer this site to each member. Some members will have their own domain, others will not. Regardless, each site will be hosted on one server by the organization. Here is the problem I am facing. Yesterday, they did their first test of this template. The client sent me this url - http://www.atra.com/~atra_member
When I went to the address, I noticed any reference in the site to a session variable defined in the global.asa was not showing up. From past experience, I seem to remember that the .asa file needs to be in the root web, yes? Seeing as they will have two thousand of these templates on the same server, how can I achieve what I am trying to do here. I want each site to be easily modified for each client. The only thing that needs to change on each site is address, name, tel., fax, etc. I thought a single global.asa file and session variables would do this hence my approach.
Viewing IIS Sites
I have three PCs connected in a workgroup, all have Windows XP.On one PC, called MF1, I have IIS installed.In IIS I have a virtual directory called dbsite, pointing to a folder c:dbsite.In a web browser I can view the site via http://localhost/dbsite, or http://MF1/dbsite.

Keep Cookies Or Between 2 Sites
I have 2 separate web sites on 2 different boxes

www2.xyz.com on box 2
Users log into box 1 via regular ASP/Database authentication, and I keep a session variable to mark authenticated users. There's a link that would send users to box #2 at www2.xyz.com. How do I check whether these users are authenticated or not? I do not want to present a login screen again. Is it possible? If so, what are ways to do it, if not
session/cookies?
DC's Not Replicating When In Different Sites
We have one domain with a mixture of NT PDC's one Win2K DC (which was the
first installed) and 4 Windows 2003 DC's.
I created our sites as per MS documentation and created the subnets that
match each site. I moved each server into its own site. I then create the
Inter-site transport with IP. I create one call "All Sites" and copied all
sites into it.
Login scripts seem to get replicated eventually. New users don't seem to get
replicated and DC's never seem to find TS license server. There aren't any
messages in the Eventlog on any of the DC's.
If I move all DC's back into the Default_First-Site things start replicating
immediately. Code:

we have a site, that has a link to a online PC cart that we are registered with. Trouble is, when the user goes to the other site, we obviously no longer have our interface wrapped around the page.
We can do this with an iframe, but it wont vertically stretch the content (a scroll bar appears). Is there any way in ASP, to call a url, and say, insert that url into a <td></td> on our page?
