I am usually a CDONTS man but the hosting company say I must use CDOSYS. The following code seems to only work correctly when the recipients email address is the same as the sender address.
I have tried to send the email to Hotmail, Yahoo and GMail accounts and it does not send. No error messages, just is not received in the inbox of the account.....
im using code below to send an email, let say sample is my company domain, when i try to put myMail. From and myMail. To as Lee@sample.com.sg, but when i try to put myMail. From and myMail. To as same as code below, it seems like never send ou the mail. Can anyone tell me what is the problem? Code:
When I send htm mail to hotmail using cdosys the links appear like this " javascriptl("news01.htm"); " without quotes, the images appears in the worng place and they shows as attached, but when I send the same mail to Outlook there is no problem, the links and images apeears in the right place, there is no problem with it jus in hotmail or free web based application mail. (yahoo, gmail, hotmail, etc...)
I need some help: with cdosys i'm able to send e-mail from asp using the local exchange server. Now I also have to save the sent mail into the user's mailbox for future reference: how to?
Here's the scenario. I'm currently using cdosys/asp to send mail to our SMTP server. We use a product called MailFilter to check for SPAM. It doesn't work very well. If MailFilter isn't working cdosys also has problems and emails don't get sent. As these email are confirmations for customer's bookings this means lots of customers calling to see where their confirmation emails have gone. The root of the problem is MailFilter but that here to stay. So I had this thought of sending the message to a queue of some sort so at least they will get to the customer eventually rather than being lost for good. So here's the question:
Can I/How do I send messages to a mailbox on our exchange server using cdo.message?
I used the below code to try and send an e-mail. On my local machine (XP machine) using IIS, the e-mail got generated and was placed in this folder.
C:InetpubmailrootQueue
So I am assuming the mail got generated correctly and the reason the e-mail did not get sent is that I do not have SMTP setup in my IIS. Do you agree with this statement? The reason I asked that is because I am not sure if I have SMTP setup or not in IIS and I am not sure how I check that.
To continue, I migrated my code up to the production web server and I tried executing it there. I have some display.write statements and they all were displayed so again, I am assuming the mail got generated correctly.
The problem is that the e-mail was not sent (or at least I am assuming it did not because I do not see the e-mail in my inbox).
I have never generated an e-mail before so this process is new to me. My code will be attached below but I was trying to understand some basic concepts.
-If I get my code to work on my local machine thru IIS, should it then also work in the production environment?
-It seems like I am calling so pretty specific components for the configuration settings. Is this the correct way to handle this?
-If you are familiar with this type of code, have I implemented this correctly? I would assume I have not since an e-mail is not getting set.....
I'm running a mailing list which has grown to around 5000 recipients. I'm currently using ASP to cycle through a database of recipients to send each a custom email with their name, unsubscribe link etc.
Currently I'm using CDOSYS to send the mail, and have set up a page to trigger the emails in batches of 50 so that they don't create blockages on the mail server.
Is it possible to queue emails with CDOSYS, since this would mean I could fire all the emails at once, safe in the knowledge that they will all be dealt with without a problem.
I've used the ASPEmail component before which does this, and it was very effective, but sadly it's not an option to use it on this domain.
I am new to asp i am facing in sending the contact form sending through email using cdosys the following is the code server space work on Microsoft Windows 2003 w/IIS 6.0.
When i press send button i get a error as The page cannot be displayed and HTTP 500 - Internal server error .....
I have a database of 2000 subscribers. I need to send an HTML email to the entire list, but the mail needs to be individual to each recipient, so I need to loop through a script integrating database results into the mail-out.
My host doesn't have any ASP email components installed on the server other than CDOSYS.
Will CDOSYS be able to handle this, or will it flake/timeout? I need to be sure that when my colleague presses 'the button' it works (I'll be on holiday at the time!)
I have managed to scag around the internet and find this code posted in a forum way fack in 2004. I have working examples of aspMail written in VBScript but am doing (not through personal choice the coding in JScript).
This code seems to be ok apart form the http:// schema sections, they throw an errror and I can not find any information as to what they should be set to. Code:
I've been using CDOSYS Mail and this bit of code fine for a year. Well, we wanted to change the method of sending email from the Webserver sending it, to designating a specific SMPT server.
So, I found this code on MSFT's web site (MSFT CDOSYS SMTP ) that will allow me to do this, and it works, except that the redirect command that I have at the end of the file no longer works. I have no idea why.
Thi is the error I get: error '8004020f' /asp/send_email_foundation_conf.asp, line 78
I run a web site that uses various forms to send email to customers. For example, I have a "Forgot your password?" script and a "Email this page" script.I've found out that when a user sends an email via my site to a Hotmail address, the email just "disappears." I'm assuming Hotmail is considering the email SPAM because it was send by my web server? The site uses ASP and I've tried using CDONTS and CDOSYS (which I specified a SMTP server for) and nothing seems to work for Hotmail.
A large portion of my customers user Hotmail, so banning it really isn't an option. Is there anything I can do to prevent Hotmail from blocking my site's emails?
I have downloaded the script from brainjar but it needs a bit of tweaking because my smtp host requires authentication, I have added what i feel are the relevant lines of code but these are giving me a runtime error
These are the relevant lines of code, the 1st line giving me the error:
objCDOSYSCon.Fields("http://schemas.microsoft.com/cdo/configuration/smtpauthenticate") = 1 'whether you use a authentication on the server
What I am trying to do is to upload 4 files to my server (Windows 2003 Server Edition , IIS 6.0) and then e-mail them to my e-mail account. I use 2 files. The first is uploadTester.asp...

i use a personal web server and i'd like to send a mail into an ASP page. Usually, i use CDONT component but it seems it does not work on Personal Web Server.
Our server is a Windows 2000 Server with Service Pack 3, IIS 5 with Lockdown Wizard applied.
My first problem is related to CDONTS.NewMail. Up until recently, I had no problems sending e-mail with this little utility. Our current development efforts are moving to .NET so it didn't matter to us that this is something that won't be supported anymore by MS. However, while we are in the process of flipping to .NET, this is something we're still using for the time being.
The problem I'm having is that the e-mail is not getting sent at all! I don't get any errors or anything like that, and when I look at our IIS 4 relaying SMTP mail server, and then look at our big outgoing mail server, I can't find the e-mail anywhere in there. It's like it vanishes. Can anyone give any insights?
Secondly, we have an older Access based training application that again, up until recently was working just fine. I don't know if the IIS lockdown wizard did something I'm not aware of, but now on the line in the ASP file where the server goes to open the database using the DSN, I get an "Unspecified Error"
I checked www.aspfaq.com and found the article about this and tried all of the tricks mentioned there for this error message. Granting the IUSR_machinename account read/write access toe the TEMP directory got me further into the file, but it didn't get me far enough to finish it because later on in the file, when the server goes to open another connectio nthe the database, I get he same problem. I cannot modify the source code on this page without killing our support contract or warranty on the product. Can anyone give me any thoughts on this one?
I am using CDONTS to send a mail. There is no error in the code and it says that the mail has been send successfully,But i am not receiving any mails .The Code
Set vobjMail = CreateObject("CDO.Message") vobjMail.From= Email address vobjMail.To= Email address vobjMail.Subject= The subject vobjMail.TextBody= The Body vobjMail.Send
I would like to know if this can be achieved! On the form I a drop down menu that's called ("Escalation_type") the values are eta, hdtv, and supervisors. I have some ideas but I am not sure if it will work or not. If the use chooses an eta as a value I would like it to be sent a mailbox for exam: no@where.com. If they choose hdtv as value I would like it to be sent to a different mailbox. Can this be achieve by using the case statement or the if statement?
I'm working on a few intranet pages and have a doubt on how to send e-mails ( i have the aspemail component installed) to outside clients including the invoice for services payment. So differently from Intranet issues where you easily provide a link embeedded on the e-mail, I can't figure how to show the info from outside offices network. Does anyone knows how to do it? perhaps printingscreen the html page by code and then send to the client as a embedded image or something....?
I attach files from the folder uploads which r uploaded there by the user. The problem is that when i recieve the attachment i get a .dat extension with it for eg ;if i attach a.txt i recieve a.txt.dat....
I'm trying to send mail from my ASP page using CDO, but when I execute the query no mail is sent. How do I set up my internet incoming mail server and outgoing SMTP server?
I'm having a few problems sending an email using CDO from a webpage , just wondered if anyone knew what the error message i'm getting could mean , and if the code i'm using looks ok.
