I am writing an asp file to edit records in an access2000 db. I do a query on the primary key, then if EOF and BOF (nothing found), it writes to the db. If not, it does a second test to see if any info has changed. Here's the relevant code:
I am looking for some help creating a login page. I want to have a Access DB with the username/password/forward address. I want it to forward the user to there page depending on the username. I have seen many login pages but none that will forward to a web page depending on the username.
I do contract work for an organization that has some of the word code I have ever seen. I think they are using some sort of screwy CMS or something.
The code on their pages are pages stacked on pages, in other word one page loaded into a browser might have 3 <html><body></body></html> sets. Its really bad. So I started working on a page that has a form. It is included in the main page with this line of code:
Will IIS6.0 recognize a global.asa file located in a subdirectory on the webserver?
I'd like a file that will execute whenever a file in the subdirectory is browsed - or, at least it is executed the first time a file in the subdirectory is browsed.
When we send a mail using the code below,we do not get simplified chinese characters if they are present in the body but we get junk in the mail and we need to change the mails encoding to simplified chinese to see the Chinese characters.
Last week, my shopping cart was still working well until I began getting the following errors 2days ago..
Error Type:
ADODB.Recordset (0x800A0BCD) Either BOF or EOF is True, or the current record has been deleted. Requested operation requires a current record. ../order/saveorder.asp, line 157
Browser Type:
Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; Windows NT 5.1; SV1)
Page: GET /main/saveorder.asp
Could you check my code below and let me know what possibly the error is?
I have it at the moment that on the main default.asp there is a recordset that will display all records within that table, these are a list of forums that will be available.
I have a table that will show the forum name, and the description. This table is then looped using Do while not, now what i need to do is show how many records in the Treads table are related to each forum using asp. Code:
I basically created 5 different recordset with names of ObjRS2 ---> ObjRS6 The code is pretty easy to understand, but I'm missing something
<% for (i=2;i<=6;i++) { %> all of my HTML code calling the Recordsets....example <tr> <td> <%= objRSi("something")%> <----- the "i" is where i want the counter obviously </td> </tr> }
I have a database set up for a survey where in the Answers table I have columns QuestionID, SurveyID, and Answer. Because my survey has about 300 possible questions it's impossible to make a column for each answer. So if I need to select the answers from a specific survey for a specific question and I have about 50 entered in the database my loop will have go keep going for about 15000 times. What I'm trying to find out is if there is a way to create a record set by selecting a survey by it's ID and then when I only have about 300 rows in the record set select answer from the record set using the questionID. This is to update the answers for the survey. Also, another possibility would be update the recordset and then update the database. Is it possible to do that? Any directions to some code?
Doing a "modify a registry" html, I need to use the content of a recordset as an initial value for a text input , but it does not function the way I need to; this code gives me an error, look:
the error shown is "Error de Microsoft VBScript en tiempo de ejecución error '800a01c2' Número de argumentos erróneo o asignación de propiedad no válida: 'ob_rs' "
i ahve a recordset which takes data from a database using the shape command in a SQL statement. now i want it to show the data in a tabular fom such that the parent field has to it's right the child fields with out repeating the parent field again and again. And this done, the child field in the table should have the grandchild fields to is right and as before without repetition of the child field. and all of this in a tabular form!!! i use a similar sql statement as below: SQLTRY = "SHAPE {SELECT * FROM A} APPEND ( ( SHAPE {SELECT * FROM B} APPEND ({SELECT * FROM C} RELATE MachineNum TO MachineNum) AS rsparts) RELATECategoryNum TO CategoryNum)"
I have the following code: Code: Set RS = Server.CreateObject("ADODB.RecordSet" ) RS.CursorLocation = 3 RS.Open ("SELECT * FROM " & the_table_name & " WHERE " & job_id_field & "=" & request.querystring("job") &""), cn, adOpenDynamic Both have connections via the following string:
Code: set cn = server.createobject("adodb.connection") cn.Open ("DRIVER={Microsoft Access Driver (*.mdb)}; DBQ=" & Server.MapPath(database_map_path)) & ";" Only difference is that the newer version has the connection string included in another file, and the "RS.OPEN ..." line on the recordset code gives an error: "Too few parameters". Expected 1.
can anyone explain to me what the code is trying to do?
if rsHistory(2) = "i" then v_HistOperation="Clock - In" v_HistTime=rsHistory(0) else if rsHistory(2) = "o" then v_HistOperation="Clock - Out" v_HistTime=rsHistory(1) end if
I'm working on a website where a compiled object returns a recordset. When I access the recordset, the memo fields are truncated. Is there anyway to get the full data from the existing recordset or is that a problem with the object itself and how the data is being queried (from SQL Server)?
I have a recordset full of data from form input. I would like to insert this data into a table where the recordID = the recordID from a query string. Is this possible with recordsets? To specify where to add the record, as opposed to just inserting a brand new record?
Does anyone know of a good, simple and preferably free tool that is similar to MS Frontpage's Data Connection WYSIWYG tool? Specifically, I have a bunch of recordsets that I need to convert into ASP pages and I really am not looking forward to coding the recordset fields manually. Dreamweaver and Frontpage are WAY to much overkill for what I want.
I am using an Access database and I have a list of pubs in one table in the other stores the time and date of the visit to that certain pub, if you go to www.mutedesigns.co.uk/bpubs
user: test: password: test
click on search date and search 31st March, it shows a result saying Jarv is going to the....... on the 31st March at 21:30 to drink my question: how do i show what pub they are drinking in to show, click on PUBS and then H and then Hove Place (1st Avenue)
I need to create a recordset from a number of session variables. After I create this recordset I will be passing it to a stored procedure. Could someone please tell me how to create the recordset? I'm not asking how to GET a recordset from a database. I need to know how to create one: create fieldnames and put data into each field.
I'm having a problem with one of the editors of a site I look after. He keeps on putting the Headline to uppercase. I'm familiar with to uppercase but how could you apply it to a record set so that only the first word becomes a capital and the rest is in lower case?
I have an ASP page that calls ASP routines that I created that execute a database query and return the results to a recordset. I then iterate through the recordset and display the data in a table. Before I iterate through the recordset I instruct the browser that the content type is Excel using the following line:
This works fine with Excel 2003 but with older versions (I tested Excel 97) the HTML included within the include files (on Page One) is displayed in an Excel worksheet.
Page One - Begins with Include files (which contain my subroutines and databse connection information). Then I have a Select statement to determine which export users want. When I hit the case I need I then call a Sub routine that exports the data to Excel. Code:
I have a RecordSet in hand which retrieves the Items in the database as per the category. Now I would like to Sort the RecordSet, based on the selection from 2 drop-down select boxes. The selection's values are the name of a column and the other selection has the values "ASC" and "DESC". And the form submits to the same page.
How can I accomplish this?I tried the RecordSet.Sort method, but to no avail. Maybe it is something I am doing wrong.
I have a doubt.I am connecting to mysql db and there is only one table and i am retrieving the data like city, state, county, etc.. from db to comboboxes. so i am using one recordset for each retrivel and showing into combobox.it is going slowly.SO what happens if i use multiple recordsets in single ASP page?
So I think we can use only one recordset for all the data retrievel from the db?
I have some code which checks to see if a recordset field has a value, and if so ,doing a split on it. I kept on getting an error about split not working on null, which seemed odd considereing the if statement checking for null. After a lot of confused playing I can up with this:
Assume that an ASP page has 3 SQL queries. Can a recordset object be populated with the records of all these 3 queries at the same time?
Please note that the 3 queries are distinct queries, not related to each other in any way. Also please note that I am not talking aboutpopulating the recordset with the records of the 1st query, then closing it & again opening that recordset, populating it with the records of the 2nd query so on & so forth.
I have a problem with my recordset. I have a database with many tables and I need to access all this tables and show their values in a list box. Is there anyway to do it?
I don't have any code to show at this point, but here is what I am trying to do. Place a recordset on the customer and the way that they payed. If the payed by credit card, the get a different type of email confirmation than if they payed by check or money order. An if then or select case, which ever would work with cdonts.
EX if rspayment("check") then response.write yadda yadda if rspayment("money order") then response.write this and that
then have a field in cdonts that looks at this variable ( if this is the right word) and writes tha appropiate response in the email.
