Ok I am reading a text file (LOG) the time is extracted from the text file and looks like this 07:56:11 with no spaces on either end.
My problem is that the format is not time (when writtern to a varible) so I cannot write it to a table field with a time format. How do I covert the above number into time.
I need to insert some number into database as text. My problem is if I insert the number (ie. 4.0), the value in the database only show (4). So, is it possible to convert a real number into text number using ASP?
I am working on a database that collects information about incidents. One of the fields that people enter is the time of the incident. I am trying to convert that string that people enter into a OdbcType.Time and I am at a lost.
I am making a check writing page and was wondering how to convert a variable in the form of $1234.56 to One Thousand Two Hundred Thirty Four Dollars and Fifty Six Cents (Or something like that).
I need to modify some code written by someone else that sends out an automated email based on a form submittal. In the form, values are set to 1 or 0 for "yes" or "no". I need to modify it so that the email changes the 1 or 0 to their text equivalents (yes/no).
I CANNOT modify the form itself to change the variables, so i assume i need an IF stmt to that converts the string to text before it sends. Can someone point me in the right direction for how to do this?
I'm reading through a txt file and using split to create an array of values. I need to convert one element in the resulting array from a string to a number.
However, none of the conversion functions such as CInt, CSng, Val work. I consistently receive a 'type mismatch' error.
Is there an asp component anywhere which will convert a GMT time in the past to a different time zone e.g. EST? You can't just take the hours off as there is often daylight saving hours to take into consideration.
in master batch table i have various master batch like 200701-0001 200701-0002 200701-0003
Now each master batch can have multiple final mixed batch like
200701-0001-01 200701-0001-02 200701-0001-03
and this record is inserted in to fmix table.
so i have a form in which i have a dropdown menu in which all the master batch is listed, i select 200701-0001 and that value is passed to next page where i will enter other fields data and insertion to my fmix_no will be done automatic like 200701-0001-01, 200701-0001-02 and so on,
how to achieve this
so in short each master batch will have more than one final mixed batch.

I would like to display the difference between the logging time [Session("start"] and the current time [now]. In hours minutes and seconds, I have tried a couple of things but all I see is gobbledy gook.

Currently working on a ASP for a friend, which requires the date and time on it. It pulls in entries from an Access Database with dates and times in the format of:
"Fri Oct 17 18:02:46 2003" However my date and time on the ASP page is displayed as: "Friday, October 17, 2003 18:02:46" using the script: "<%Session.LCID = 1033%> <%=FormatDateTime(Date(), vbLongDate)%> <%Session.LCID = 2057%> <%=time()%>"
Anyone know how to change this script, fully or partly to produce the date and time on the format that's in the access database i.e. "Fri Oct 17 18:02:46 2003" Code:
When the Form is submitted I use the Date() and Time() functions to put the date and time into the Body part of the e-mail. The time reported is three hours earlier than the time at which the Form is actually submitted.
I understand these functions are evaluated on the server so the server must be in a time zone three hours earlier than where I am . Is there any way I can get the local time at the location where the user is actually located. ?
I am trying to compare the NOW time with a "deadline" time. Please help. Just not sure why this is not working. I need to be able to say IF IT'S BEFORE 9:30 TODAY, IT'S OKAY TO ADD SOMETHING. IF IT'S AFTER 9:30 TODAY, YOU MUST ADD IT TOMORROW.
CODE:
nowtime=now() deadlinetime=formatdatetime(now(),2) + " 8:30:00 AM" response.write "NOW: " & nowtime & "<BR>" response.write "Deadline: " & deadlinetime & "<BR>" if nowtime<deadlinetime then response.write "can send out today" end if if nowtime>deadlinetime then response.write "must send out tomorrow" end if
RESULTS: NOW: 1/18/2007 8:51:43 AM Deadline: 1/18/2007 8:30:00 AM can send out today
As you can see, NOW is GREATER THAN Deadline, so it should must send out tomorrow.
i want to calculate the total time between to dates and time.
Example: Total time elapsed from date 1 time 1 to date 2 time 2.
27/09/2004 11:00 - 28/09/2004 10:30
The user enters a record and then later comes back and closes it. I need to know the time it took from when they entered the record until the time it was closed.

<% mysql="SELECT * from data" Set con = SERVER.CREATEOBJECT("ADODB.Connection") Set rs = SERVER.CREATeOBJECT("ADODB.recordset") con.open "DSN=database4atc" rs.open mysql, con 'recordset.open sqlcommand, activeconnection %>
I have inherited an ASP application that used MS SQL 7 for a backend DB.The original developer did an excellent job of commenting his work and the applications works fine as is. However, due to licnsing costs,the company is considering moving the application backend to MySQL.
I have looked at the DB structure and it has nothing extreneous other than FOREIGN KEYS. I have heard that MySQL does not support FOREIGN KEYS or Stored procedures.How do I get around the FOREIGN KEY support issue in MySQL?Other than changing my connection strings, if and when I do get the DB end working,do I need to redo the codes?I would like to keep the codes as is and simply redo the interface.In general what should I expect?
The Application was at the initial stages when the company changed course,so they don't mind losing what little data they have in the existing MS SQL 7 db,BUT the table structure must be kept as designed in MS SQL.
I have this one short section of code that I need to convert to ASP. Currently it's in PHP and our server does not support that. this code would be used to get someone's email address for a newsletter. Here is the code: PHP Code:
<?php $var = ', '.$_GET['var'];
$fp = @fopen("file.txt", "a") or die("Couldn't open file.txt for writing! ". $var ); $numBytes = @fwrite($fp, $var) or die("Couldn't write values to file! " .$var );
