I have index.asp (Form) & process.asp (submit data from index.asp to Access Database), the Form is running Perfectly.
But, How can I create a login name and page for the applicants to edit the information they submitted?
Let say I have Email (username), Password (password) & lastname on index.asp, then I really have no clue!
Unless you declared those session variables earlier, they have no data in them. Assuming this information is coming from a form, try using request.form("fieldname") instead of the session variables.
If this doesn't address your problem, give more detail about what "isn't working"
I want to check if this database is exist so I avoid the error that appears when I try to create it another time and also I want to know how to delete this database.

View Replies View RelatedI am trying to build a secure web login that allows me to identify the person logging in by a "Welcome user" message that comes up when they reach the destination page.
Also, I want the person to be able to update their personal info and such when they are in the site. I know how to update a record, but I am unsure as how to tell the database which record to update based on the person who is logged in.
I developed an ASP page which has 2 input fields- First Name and Last Name.I used Access 2002 as database. Once I click the Submit button,
it has to perform 3 tasks-----
1) It has to update the First Name and Last Name in the MS-Access database in their corresponding fields.
2) It has to go to the Home Page(which I already did)
3) It has to update the date/time in the "Time" field in the MS-Access database.

I have created a asp project local.and have created a access database local. Iam trying to use the access database from the asp page. But It is not accessing the database file.
once i changed the rights of the access file and checked it.It inserted the records.And after some time, iam not able to access it.some times it accesses and some times it doesnt.

Authentication failed.
Is their some reason the JRO.JetEngine needs authentication? I don't have direct access to this server and was wondering how to get around this problem or how to fix it. It fails when this link is run:

None of the databases have a username or password. Would I have to have the host company setup an account for this action to take place? And why could I do everything except compact the database? Is their a vulnerability issue when accessing this function?
I am building a website to pull data from a remote https site using xmlhttp. The data from the https site is behind a login screen. I can successfully get through the login screen with:

Could there be some cookies, referer, strings being passed normally that I am not including in my second request - How do i find out for sure?
I have used the software IETrace and it looks like some cookies being passed, but how do I know for sure if (and what exactly) it is using?

Can I call these queries instead of using a string to specify the SQL

I have an edit page that works successfully except for two dates at the bottom.
I'm trying to pull the dates out of the database so that they can be edited, if necessary.
At the moment when you go to the edit page the date fields are blank. This causes problems because if you update the page and leave the date fields blank then a default value of 1/1/1900 will overwrite your existing date - pain in the butt.
Therefore I need the date fields in my edit page to be filled from the existing dates in the database.

The copy I have in the database is fine. All languages - including the Japanese are displaying correctly when I look at them in Access. However, when I pull the Japanese text from the database, each character renders in the browser as '???????'.
I've tried different HTML encoding, but nothing seems to make a difference.
I have a members page on my site and want to give the members a way to edit there own pages (either just text or images as well) so they can log into there own members page and then edit text boxes to complete the required info.

I've got an html form with text, select and textarea inputs.
These values get passed to an asp page that UPDATES the record (not INSERT because it's actually appending to an existing record). Because this page is also an EDIT page, I SELECT all the values so as to:
1) display the current value for editing
2) make sure if they're not edited the value is not null when submitted
My questions:
It's no problem populating the values of form "text" inputs, but how do I do the same for
a) the "select" inputs (Make the proper value SELECTED)? and
b) the textarea input?
ie. The user goes to the page for the first time and there aren't any values yet. They use the various form inputs to add values. When they come back to edit the same record I need to display current values of all form fields properly. Code:

But the problem is, that the page looks like a exe file (not a asp file or php file or what ever). I am creating a table in an access DB based on a form submission. This works fine. The problem I am having is, if there is a space in the submission. For example.... someone submits "The Island" when the asp script uses SQL to create the DB, it creates it as "The" only.
SO I am guessing it stops when there is a space in the name. Is there some way to get around this?
I'm trying to write an asp page line by line, as one would create a
text file, only my file will end in .asp.
One line simply writes a close ASP code tag, or
FILECONTENTS=FILECONTENTS & "%>"
When this line processed, an error occurs saying that the string was
never terminated because the asp page attempting to write this line of
code to a NEW asp page reads that close ASP tag (%>), as an actual
close asp tag for itself, instead of a STRING value.
How do I write this %> symbol to a new asp file, while still
maintaining its purpose to close a group of asp code in the newly
created page?
