I need to know how to create a dynamically named list of a collection of records from my database.
All the records come from one table using the DateCreated column as the column that I want to collate the records with.
I want to group all the records in eg: march 2007 under a dynamic heading of 'March 2007' and the same for every other month in the table.
The date format in the DateCreated column is: dd/mm/yyyy
It's kind of a blog achive.

To get categories for the link exchange, I Googled "medical categories" and came up with a very, very good list of medical categories. they were seperated by a <br> tag. I went through the code and extracted all but the following (see below).
What I want to do is somehow create a list of "options" for this categories in a select dropdown, with the category being the value for the option AND displayed in the dropdown. You know what I mean. I would think it would involve reading in a text file and inserting the necessary code. Code:

As the client uploads the December news story, it replaces the November story and adds November to a dropdown menu on the news page.For example, all archived months stories can be accessed from the dropdown menu and the current month is visible on the page.

How can i create a ZIP archive of an already present folder? This folder might have some nested folders in it too.
I have seen some components where we can create the ZIP archive but these add the files to the main archive folder that will be created when you specify the name of the archived folder and its intended destination.

i know how to get a listing of files in a specific directory, but i want to get a list of all files in all subdirectories of a specific directory (not virtual). on my server i have e:picturesweb.
in this folder there is male and female directories and in those directories there are also subdirectories. i want the page to create a value for each file and directory so that it can be submitted to another page that will ftp the pictures to a remote site. (yes I have the ftp script ready to go)

View Replies View RelatedI have 2 developper machine running visual studio 2003 and Windows 2000. On the first machine (Machine A) I may create a new asp project without problem. On the second (Machine B) I cannot create a new project.Visual Studo create the project but not the initial files and freezes.
But I may create a new project from Machine A using the web server of machine B.I have checked the access rights of both servers, the access rights on directory wwwroot and inetpub.Everything seems the same.
Has anyone seen or know if anyone has done this? I think that ASP would be a great tool to do this with but I am curious if anyone has tried it and found it to be too hard or too burdensome to follow through with?

the tables are,
products (ID,CatID,sID)
supplier (sID,sName),
category (CatID, CatName)
The above tables supplier and category have relationships to products by using the sID and CatID
I need to update the product details by having a select/option for a supplier and category but if not changed by the user the value already within products table stays the same, therefore the list must be dynamic so that the first item in the list is the one relating to the value in the products table. Also the value must be the ID numbers but must display the names not the ID's to the users within the select/option.
I'm sure an ASP programmer would be able to create this function within 5 minutes, but I'm just learning and I've fumbled my way through creating a little site content management system for a local community group. I'm a designer and the site looks great (so I'm told) but I just can't get this last page to work. I'm desperate for help!!!
I'm trying to call the values for a drop-down list from a seperate categories table in Access, to add/update records in a main Access table/query. The page/form is used to:
a) diplay/edit existing records; or
b) add new (if cstr = "").
I have finally managed to display the correct selection in the drop-down list for existing records (not sure if code is correct?) but I can't work out how to write changes (edit record) back to the database; or 'save' a new record?
