is it possible to insert the desired information into the default mail from a website?
If the user clicks on a link then outlook express will popup and the address bar will be populated with a certain address and the subject is filled out also.
I have found out my webhost doesn't support CDO or CDONTS(Sun ONE Active Server Pages with SpikePack unavailable). So, my question, is it possible to write an ASP page to call their sendmail to sent email? Or will I have to do some quick learning on cgi?
I have a rather large form in HTML that needs to be sent as an email. The body of the email is approx. 400 lines (that's in HTML). Is it possible to somehow transfer the entire form to the asp mail script so that it automatically sets the body of the email to contain this form (with input)? Or do I have to write the body by hand in my asp script - like this:
line 001 Body = "<table><tr><td>some text & var1 & </td></tr> " ... ..
I would like to write a generalised page which creates an email containg the (calling) HTML form complete with the user populated data.
In this way the appearance of the email will be just like the form elements of the form that called the generalised page together with the completed fields.
I can see that I can caputure the (blank) calling page itself in the email by using the CreateMHTMLBody method of CDO. I can also see how I can retreive the individual elements of the form using Request. But is it possible to combine the two?
is it possible to rn a client side vbscript to send messages using cdo.message and cdo.configuration? what are the requirements to do this? my wks are xp and 2000 and all have cdosys.dll registered. do i have to have outlook express loaded.
i have workstations that don't have outlook but rather lotus notes and want to send email to an smtp server. these emails have local attachment thus the need to run client script versus server scripts. is this possible or am i on the wrong track.
i have a web site built using vbasic active server scripting running on iis (it works on either iis 50 and 60, but is designed for iis 50). i know how to create a plain text email by creating a text file, with content following certain format, and saving that file into the correct '..mailrootpickup' folder, and it is working fine.
what i would like to know is how to create and send an email in html format from my server script. i will appreciate anyone who can tell me where to find instructions on how to do this.
I built a form to collect users details, and noticed that a lot of sites these days have feedback emails that return a recieved email confirmation back to the customer. Can anybody point me to, or allow me the code so that I can try it myself.
Im running a simple mail system program which emails newsletters to a database list of 3000+ users.
The program loops through a database containing the emails and sends them out using ASPEmail.
My question is, is there some way i can validate each email address so that if there are invalid characters e.g. the space in "blah @blah.com" it will skip the record and continue the loop.
At the moment i have a working program however, whenever the program comes across an invalid email address it stops at that record and prevents the program from emailing any further.
I am having a problem formatting an email message which comes from a form.
I am currently having difficulty with the <br> tag which I am using for line spaces within my email. I am getting an expected statement error message which is pointing to the line which is underlined below. I can't think what is causing this.
1. I want users to type in their email address on a textfield, and after users press the "Submit" button. The info will automatically go to another person's email to receive a compliment, suggestion, etcetera.
2. Another is how to include the message written on a textarea of a form with the ASP code supplied below: Code:
how to write to check verification valid email thru nslookup or mx record or dns record. Is it possible to do that. Is there any tutorial from sitepoint, previously found it but i lost the link.
example to check assume test@domain.com is not a real email, abc@domain.com is real email how do u check it.
Just starting to play with scripts, and need a little guidance. I want to check to make sure that the email addresses users enter in a form are identical before it will allow them to submit. here's what i have:
the variable for the second email address is EmailFrom2
'validation Dim validationOK validationOK=true If (Trim(EmailFrom)="") Then validationOK=false If (validationOK=false) Then Response.Redirect("emailerror.htm?" & EmailFrom) If (Trim(Name)="") Then validationOK=false If (validationOK=false) Then Response.Redirect("nameerror.htm?") If (Trim(CityState)="") Then validationOK=false If (validationOK=false) Then Response.Redirect("citystateerror.htm?") If (Trim(SchoolName)="") Then validationOK=false If (validationOK=false) Then Response.Redirect("schoolnameerror.htm?")
Set myMail=server.CreateObject("CDO.Message") myMail.Subject="subject" myMail.From="me" myMail.To=request.form("email") myMail.TextBody="hello" myMail.Send set myMail=nothing
this script sends emails to some addresses but not others--and its based on the email service it's sending to. for instance, hotmail email addresses get the email, but mail.com email addresses dont get the email. i have tried sending it to other email hosts, too, and still, some work, some don't. what is going on here?
Dim Mail Set Mail = Server.CreateObject("CDONTS.Newmail") mail.From = "abc@hotmail.com" mail.to = "xyz@hotmail.com" mail.subject = "Test Email Subject" mail.body = "This is Email body message" mail.send
Now the question is that this code will use the Default Virtual SMTP Server in IIS, but I want to use my ISP's SMTP server. please tell me how to do this. I have used my ISP's email server in Outlook express and it is working fine. Please do not suggest to use "CDO" or "CDOSYS" to use for sending emails because I must have to use "CDONTS".

I'd like to create a new asp.net project on a remote server (not on the local (development) machine. I have looked for info on how to do this, but all I can find are instructions on how to create on localhost, then deploy later to remote machine.
So i currently have an asp page that creates an xml document with information from a database. However I need to link to my schema when creating the Root element here,
Im trying to create a string from checkboxes that have been checked, but for some reason its not working
strNumbers = "" for each key in request.form("chkFacility") strNumbers = strNumbers + "" & key & "," intCount = intcount + 1 next
So I want to end up with a string like this '3,12,7.' Instead Im just getting a single number. Am I doing this the right way. Any help wud be just fantastic!!
I know how to use ASP to create and write into a .CSV file on the server, but I have a small problem. Every time I write to the file I am adding new lines each time. I don't know how to wipe the previous contents out, and I thought this is probably a no-brainer for you guys ...
So, I'm looking either to delete the file at the start of the process and start from scratch or
* open the file * wipe all contents from file * write to the newly cleaned file
I have an asp page where i created cookies-for admin and for user. The aspx page reads these cookies. Everything seems to work fine but now i have to create a new cookie if cookie has expired or if cookie is null. Also, i am having problems with the expire because if the username belongs to the admin for example and then i want to change the username that belongs to a normal user the cookie recognises the first (admin) cookie. How do i solve this? .....
I want to create an order form for prints online... I will have up to 200 prints to be selected. What I am thinking is that I will have an HTML Form that has all the 200 thumbnails with a check box next to them. They select the ones they want and push next. Then I would like it to create a set of options for each one they selected.
That basically says the image name then has a check box for 5x7, 8x10 and a text box for the amount for each... I do I create the page what creates these selections and how to I incorporate that into a mail form going to the next page?... it seems like a simple enough idea. Am wondering how the reality of it will be.
I am using asp and access database. I need to create a menu according each member access. In other words, if member login I need to display the menu according to the services the member selected during registration. Each service contains diff type of products.
i have website which provide daily news. we store the news into sql database. i want to create a rssnewsfeed which i can provide to other websitemasters. can anyone tell me the asp code or other where i can create rssnewsfeed from my sql data.
I have a problem. I have a database with 1000 e-mails that i use in my mailinglist. And when i send them mails it takes kinda long since i attach a ..pdf file each time. so i was wondering if there is a way in asp to create a task on the webserver using asp to trigger a script that sends the mails. sure i could use server.scripttimeout but the thing is that i dont want to wait 30 seconds for the page to finish loading. and if there will be 3000 in near future i'll have to wait for a very loooooong time.
anyone know how to create a task using asp dynamically?
I'm doing a gallery and I need to make some thumbnails of the images, but yeah...I don't know how, especially since I can't access the server to install stuff. And to be honest I wouldn't know how to install them in the first place (linux server)
Now...the best solution I've come up with so far is to send a string to another webserver that runs on a decent platform and use asp.not to make the thumbnail and then link it from there...would be a pain in the butt though, so if anyone has some good advice then I'm all ears (even if the advice is to give up, tbh)
I'm pretty new to the whole concept of Server Side programming and am currently developing some important elements for a site I have made with Classic ASP programming. One of the things my employer wants me to develop is a Server Side script that will allow a report in PDF format to be generated online to customers who make use of the tools.
I need to format each row being returned in a recordset as a hyperlink. One of the fields being returned is the subject of a message that my hyperlink will show. When the hyperlink is clicked then the ASP page loads further message details of that link. Does anyone know how to do this?
I have the following graph (see atttached file) and was wondering if it would be possible to create this graph by using ASP and how easy it would be. If it is possible could someone give me a few links to sites where I could get some code to start me off.
