PDFs In ASP

I am looking at expanding some search engine code of mine to include PDFs. Therefore I need some mechanism to extract the text from a PDF file which I can break down into individual words so I can index them.

Does anyone have any code or examples that will allow me to pull out the
text of a PDF file in ASP?

PDFs Dynamically

Does anyone know if there are any IIS components out there that run on
IIS 5.0 that will convert LaTeX to PDF? I have written a script in ASP
that produces the LaTeX document, but am unsure of how to go about
converting it to PDF and delivering it to the client.

If you don't know of one, do you have any idea of how I might implement
such a transform? I would have to use a WshShell to run pdflatex on
the source twice before I could deliver the PDF to the user. However,
pdflatex outputs a PDF, so I would have to redirect the client to the
PDF, and then somehow come along later and clean it up. I'm not sure
if this would be the optimal process to take.

FDF-toolkit And ASP To Create Pdfs

I've successfully managed to install the FDF-toolkit to my computer and I've also managed to create a PDF-file from a asp-page. But all of this have been for testing, now I want to implement this pdf-creating-service to a system for inquirys.

The salesman at the office uses a webpage to build their inquires and at the end I want to have a nice looking pdf for them to print. Is there anyone that knows how to actually create real dynamic pdf:s where the amount of pages and data varies a lot? If not, does anyone have an idea how to get good printouts from a webbrowser, where the text or tables dont get cut in the middle by the printer.

Merge / Appending Multiple PDFs Together

I need to take a bunch of PDFs that I have made using Appligent's FDFMerge and append them together. I know I could use Appligent's AppendPDF. But I was wondering if there were any free toolkits that I could use with a bit more work out there?

I cannot tell what on the Adobe site would be a candidate for me to even look at. The Acrobat SDK seems to be for Acrobat Reader plugins. Not what I am going for. The PDF library seems a candidate, but what *is* it? A C library? I cannot use a C library unless it has a COM wrapper.

Creating Order Form Page

how to get started with this project. I want a page where a
user can manually enter an order. Our users know our order# system and it's
much easier to manually enter items as opposed to using a shopping cart and
flipping through multiple pages.
On the page would be the following....
1) Billing address
2) shipping address
3) fields for order numbers

Billing and shipping seem pretty straight forward.
Because I have no idea of how many products a customer will order, I'm
picturing a new order# field being created when one is filled out. How do I
do this? Then, assuming I get all these dynamically generated fields, how do I get
them into an OrderDetails table?

Creating A URL Still Exists Page/util

if there is a method out there that allows me to create a web page util to see if URL links are still valid. In other words I've created a system whereby a user can add their own links/urls page, but they want to periodically check whether all of these links by executing a multi-check.

My theoretical thought on this would be that the script would check if it receives a 404 on each page request and mark a flag if and when it gets it, but as to how I would do this in ASP or JavaScript.

Validation Of Data Creating Problem In ASP Page

I got a ASP page where one can add a record or update any existing records.
As soon as a record is added it is appended to the existing records. With
this design user can check for erors in existing records or the added record.
Initially, there was ino data validation rule.

Now, as soon as I am putting
data validation via script, I cannot update the exisiting data as the
validation looks for empty space in the text boxes meant for adding data. Is
there any way, I can avoid this situation and can update existing records. If
this is possible, how does one validate the existing records.

Problem With Creating A Review Before Submitting Page

I’ve created an application with 3 pages[forms] that have information that must be entered. This application has a session variable that is passed from page to page to ensure that the information that is put in the tables in the Sql Server database is linked together. It also sends an email after the last page is submitted.

My problem is that I am trying to create a page that will show the user what they have entered and allow them to go back and make changes if necessary, before they go to the next page. [A verification page I guess you would say]

I have created the 1st verification page which shows the info [from the first form] the way I want it to and it allows them to go back and make changes, [while I’m testing locally, that is]. When I go live, it skips over the 1st verification page and goes straight to the next form page. It does process all the code that is in the verification page and adds the info to the database but it will not show the verification page! When I do get it to show the verification page, it does not process the code behind the page that adds to the database. Code:

Creating Fields

I want to create an order form for prints online... I will have up to 200 prints to be selected. What I am thinking is that I will have an HTML Form that has all the 200 thumbnails with a check box next to them. They select the ones they want and push next. Then I would like it to create a set of options for each one they selected.

That basically says the image name then has a check box for 5x7, 8x10 and a text box for the amount for each... I do I create the page what creates these selections and how to I incorporate that into a mail form going to the next page?... it seems like a simple enough idea. Am wondering how the reality of it will be.
