Creating A Best Sellers List From My Orders Table
I'm creating an online shop which has an area showing the top ten best selling products. I'd like to generate the list of the best selling products from my OrdersDetail table (which is table showing listing purchases made on the site), ordered by the most popular at the top and the least popular at the bottom.
I thought if I could use the SQL DISTINCT command this would create a list of products without duplicates, then if I could COUNT them I'd generate a list of the most popular products in the OrdersDetails table. This nearly works but the list won't ORDER BY the COUNT column (I get an error). This is my code so far:
SELECT DISTINCT ProductDescription, COUNT(ProductDescription) AS bestSellers
FROM OrdersDetail
GROUP BY ProductDescription

I am reaching the point in the implementation of my first shopping cart where I need to place all the customer’s products within their shopping basket into an orders table.

I'm building a website and I want to include a mailing list. I just
want a form where a user could enter their email address, so I could
send them more information. I assume that the best way to do this is
with ASP. Right now, I'm learning ASP by testing pages using Abyss
web sever with Active HTML. I have XP Home, so I can't use IIS. Here
are my questions:
1. Is ASP the best way to create a mailing list
2. Can I just use excel for the database - not access
3. How do I connect to the database. I've read about using ODBC, but
I think that would only work when the web server is on my computer. If
I got someone to host the site for me, I don't think that would work.
4. Is there an easy way to mail to the names in the database?

I'm building a simple image gallery. When I upload the photos, they all have the same filename except for an incremental number. For example:
photo_of_event_1.jpg
photo_of_event_2.jpg
photo_of_event_3.jpg
photo_of_event_4.jpg
I have a SQL table where enter in the filename "suffix" ("photo_of_event_") and then I enter a start number (1) and an ending number (4).
So, each gallery only has one record entry.
Now, I need some advise on how to take this record and generate a page that displays all three photos.
Is there a SQL statement that would generate an incrimental list of number (1,2,3,4 in this example?).

Using regular VB ASP (not .net) and calling an Access database using ODBC, I've generated a recordset based a query... (no big whoop, obviously)
Now I want to be able to open a new XL spreadsheet (client side - we're assuming user has XL) and export that table to it. I've seen some posts about DoCmd.TransferSpreadsheet, and CreateObject("excel.application")... I've never actually used them before, so I don't know where to start.
I'd like to have a link on the page with the table to "export to XL"... and then have it open XL (client side) with that table in a spreadsheet.

now a customer may have one or many items(itemcode)
Now the issues are, Customercode can be zero or a code value.
NOw i want to put a do while loop to get all the records as comma seperated format

I am trying to display the content of a Table called

I have a table with many txt boxes which i have inside a form with a submit button to an update page which adds all the details to a db. The problem is i have a another table inside the first e.g. table 2. i want to be able to update table2 by clicking a second submit button that would update it. Have an app which dynamically creates table rows depending on records, these can be several hundred (don't ask). Hence a very long page at time. Each row includes a hyper link to a new page, and a link back to the original page.
Is there any method (maybe via js) where on leaving the second page l can redirect the browser to the table row the end user clicked on? Hence the bookmarking. Can do this via Visual Basic on the desktop app, but can't work it out on the web app.

I have two tables. Table A has 20,000 records, Table B has 2,000 records. Table A is what needs to be updated from the data in Table B. Only some fields will be updated and of course, only some records - both tables have the same field as a ClientID so matching up records should be easy.
Anyways, been a while since I have used ASP to work on things like this but would like to work through this one. I understand the process I believe, it is just how to make it go on to the next record once it has finished updating the first.
Basically, I was thinking of having it set up to reaad the top record from Table B, update applicable data in Table A. Delete that record in Table B. Move on to the next.
