I am trying to create a computer management form/web application. I am not a good programmer. I use sharepoint at work to do most of the tasks which are fairly automated.
Now the computer management form is designed this way: Code:
I am having trouble creating a web site on a server running sharepoint services. I am creating an ASP.Net website using Visual Studio 2005. The server I am trying to create it on is a Windows 2003 server.
From what I understand I need to exclude in sharepoint services the folder where the application will be deployed. I have done this in the Define Managed Paths section of the Sharepoint management site, but it has no effect. Even after I have done this and then attempt to create the ASP.Net website in Visual Studio I get the error message.
"Visual Web Developer does not support opening Sharepoint web sites. See help for more details".
Hence despite excluding the folder, the website still attempts to deploy into Sharepoint Services instead of the IIS. This is backed up by the fact that I can then see the website listed in "Sites and Workspaces" in Sharepoint.
I have only been developing small sites using asp and Access database. I want to advance my skills and develop a large site. Basically, I need direction in relation to having a user set up an acct., and once set up, being able to upload images. FrontPage (dare I say it) has always enabled me to allow visitors to upload one image at a time, and then only to a specific directory. What I want is the ability to have someone upload a specified amount of images to a directory that is created when they opened their account. ie., /tom/images If anyone knows of of good tutorials on this, I sure would appreciate it. I also want the ability to check images file size and dimesions, and resize or reject if neccessary. Can I learn how to do this w/out buying some program online.
I've been looking at pure ASP solutions to uploading a file from a form, and I'm a bit confused just on the logic. Each solution I've seen includes a binary read of all of the POST data and a parse to find the file.
Why can't the request.form collection just be used to get the binary directly? I mean, even if the request.form collection reads an ASCII value, isn't ASCII just an interpretation of binary (so shouldn't we be able to simply write it to a file and be done with it)?
I have downloaded a Image Upload componet and incorporated it into my existing code. It is working great. My issue is that I cannot call a field from another table in SQL. On insert.htm, I can do this:
ptrack = Clng(Request.QueryString("tracknumber")) And I can get the tracking number of the specific client.
If I try to do this in insert.asp, it doesn't work. I have read other posts regarding this and I still cant get it to work. Like I mentioned before, it is a tracknumber, so its a numeric. Code:
I saw a sharepoint like "uploads" and was impressed with the way it works with Office applications. Other than that, I don't have much use for it. So I was wondering if anyone knew what was involved in setting up a similar thing in ASP code?
The idea being that a template is available on the site, the user clicks on it and the appropriate application opens. When the user saves the file it's default "Save To" folder is a Network place, on the sharepoint server.
I figured I'd just create a virutal directory in IIS, give everyone write access to it then away I'd go. I can connect to the network place, but I can't save to it.I've configured the Virtual Directory as "Write" and set NTFS to Full Access for me and Authentication is Windows.
Our inter/intranet server has just been upgraded to Windows Serve 2003, IIS6, running Sharepoint.
I cannot now run even a "Hello World" ASP (not aspx/.net) script although static html displays fine.
We have enabled ASP in IIS/Web Service Extensions but still nothing. There is no error msg, scripts just do not run. Are there furthe switches in Sharepoint or IIS that I need to know about ??
When I try making changes to aspx files in a SharePoint Windows Services web site, I get an error message saying that Visual Studio cannot open a SharePoint site. Is that true, if so, how can custom changes be made?
I have a hosted Sharepoint solution, and would like to create online portals for each of our customers, what this means is i have to create a single login page (Or have it created!), for all visitors to see. Dependant on their credentials, i want the correct Sharepoint Portal (Web-address essentially) to be displayed.
I need help creating a form for my website. I want to use an ASP page. My form will contain a few text boxes for name, a dropdown list box, and will have a "browse" button so that users can upload documents/files. Would also like to add a confirmation ASP page upon successful form submit.
I would like to write a generalised page which creates an email containg the (calling) HTML form complete with the user populated data.
In this way the appearance of the email will be just like the form elements of the form that called the generalised page together with the completed fields.
I can see that I can caputure the (blank) calling page itself in the email by using the CreateMHTMLBody method of CDO. I can also see how I can retreive the individual elements of the form using Request. But is it possible to combine the two?
how to get started with this project. I want a page where a user can manually enter an order. Our users know our order# system and it's much easier to manually enter items as opposed to using a shopping cart and flipping through multiple pages. On the page would be the following.... 1) Billing address 2) shipping address 3) fields for order numbers
Billing and shipping seem pretty straight forward. Because I have no idea of how many products a customer will order, I'm picturing a new order# field being created when one is filled out. How do I do this? Then, assuming I get all these dynamically generated fields, how do I get them into an OrderDetails table?
I am trying to create a form where you may have more than one person at a meeting, but want to have them be related to the same meeting.
I have a mulitple select text area and if you select more than one, all the records are being added to the same row. so if I picked the following three people:
I run a small finance company and would like to add an online application form that potential customers could fill in.
at present all they do is email me asking for a loan, but if i could create some sort of form where they enter their details in each box, then click submit i think this would look alot more professional. Does anyone know of any tutorials or anything that may be able to help me along my way?
I want 2 create a survey Web Form that people can fill in. I then want the data entered to be saved to an Excel spreadsheet located on a server.
Can .ASP handle this kind of task? and if so does anyone know the code required to perform this function?
The data entered will be RAW and the .ASP (or whatever required programming) will need 2 process and convert the data into the spreadsheet.
Also, would it be possible to run this from a stand alone machine so that the web form, .ASP and spreadsheet are all contained on the machine and have no outside influences?
I built a form to collect users details, and noticed that a lot of sites these days have feedback emails that return a recieved email confirmation back to the customer. Can anybody point me to, or allow me the code so that I can try it myself.
I'm trying to create an input screen that allows users to create a hierarchical structure as the one below, but have no clue where to start or how to construct it. Code:
I need to add the functionality to upload an image to the webserver, store it in a folder and add its location to a database so I can find it. I have no idea how to get started on this though. Does anyone have an idea of how to do it or can point me in the direction of a good tutorial.
I am trying to use the upload file feature that comes with Sun ONE ASP but cannot find any documentation on how to use it. As it is a former chilisoft product all the knowledge base documents, FAQ's, and basically all the useful stuff has been dumped by Sun.
Does anyone know how to use this feature or know of any sites where it is explained? Please don't say "look on the Sun website" as I have been doing that all afternoon and can't find anything useful on the whole site!!
i developed website, in that i have one two asp pages one page to collect the data's and other is the confirmation page In the local host it runs very well but i uploaded the webpage the datas i collect could not be stored in the access database
error: http 405 resource not allowed
my project consist
1 index page pages folder (all the static pages, asp pages and access database) images folder
i specified path as path1= Server.MapPath ("db1.mdb")
My client wants me to add a functionality which would enable him upload and resize the pictures. His server is having ASPUPLOAD and e-kov components intalled. Also he doesn't want to write files to the disk and save only to memory.
I can use ASPUPLOAD's functionality to save files in memory or save files in the database. My question is how can I access a file so that I can resize the image using e-kov software. And when using 'upload.save' only, without path, it saves the file virtualy but where does the file and how to access it.
My form with a upload photo function is not working - Can some one please take a look and see were I have messed up. The code is 4 sections : The Form, The DB script, The submit Script and the Upload script. Code:
i know that this thread allready exists buti still don't understand what to do ... i'm using microsoft frontpage and access database and would like to upload image file to access ... so ... it looks like that:
i have one page - on that page there is an upload form which leads to another ASP page ... on next page i would like to call that form from the previous page and then store it to the database (if it's possible i would like to do it without any software - because i'm not the owner of the server) ... Code:
I have an application that works fine in Windows 2000 IIS, uploading files of any size to a server folder The same application installed in a Windows 2003 IIS limits the upload size to approx 200 Kb, trying to upload larger files generates an "Operation_not_allowed" error in the web log
I suppose that Microsoft introduced some limitation in either the new OS version or IIS but I'm not able to find any reference, except for the 4 Mb limitation in .NET, but it's not my case.
I did a program with allowed to user to upload an excel file and insert those data into the access database. I did the testing on xp pro and to upload abt 300 records took me less than a minute.
However, the computer which the program is to be located is using windows 98. So i dowlnoaded the free server thingy. The upload time for 300 records here took about 15 minutes. haha
Just want to know what makes the uploading time so different?
I'm creating the Intranet for my company and in one of the parts of it I want that users to be able to upload and download files, however, I'm not sure what would be the best option/application to use for its creation. I need them specially for the uploading to be able to track when was the upload done, which user did it, and so on.
I have been using ASPs to create the website. Could I do this with ASPs ?
Need some help on the following problem:I have to upload an image using ASPUPLOAD component and process other information regading products also in the same form. What I tried is putting a Frame (using iframe) in the form, which leads to Upload.asp. Image uploading goes fine but I cannot find a way to get the file name or any other value(after uploading) to the FORM in which this frame resides. I will need some value to link the image and the product. Kindly let me know if there is a way to pass values OR a better wayout for what I am trying to do
