Database Connction Not Working
My problem with the database connection of MS access.when we transfered the site to new server which contain windows2003 server and frontpage2003 too.it's hapened that following error when I browse the site.
Database Results Error
The database connection named 'database1' is undefined.
This problem can occur if:
* the connection has been removed from the web
* the file 'global.asa' is missing or contains errors
* the root folder does not have Scripting permissions enabled
* the web is not marked as an Application Root

I am establishing a connection with a database and by using a query generating output(extracting from the database). On every line of output, there is a checkbox. I want the user to select which ever output he/she wants(via the check box) and press enter at the bottom. This is working fine.
On the next page I want the page to only show the selected output(selecxted by the checkbox on the first page).
My questions.......
1) How do I count dynamic output coming out of the database?
2) After the user selects.......how do I know which line he/she selected(in order to reproduce on the second page)?
3) How do I put those values on a session variable(the database output)?
What I am trying to do is......basically create a shopping cart, which lists the item, then calculates the price on the item........and so on and so forth. I am badly stuck on the first step.

I am new to asp pages and vbscripting and am having a problem trying to get a form in a html document to be submitted back to a asp page, then into a microsoft access database.But not sure what I am doing incorrectly. Every time I fix one error I seem to get another error.
This is the latest error, and I believe the problem exsists in the ASP page? Something to do with the connection, that it is not seeing the Nano.mdb database. It is set up correcly under the System DSN in the ODBC data source. Any ideas?

I am designing a questionaire for my partner for her uni degree, I have done the form, created the database and written the add.asp script so the form data can be added to the database.
When you enter the data and send it, it works and even goes to the thanks.asp page. HOWEVER, when i check the database, the script has created a new autonumber for the new submission but has not filled in any of the data from the form.

I just installed PWS on 2 machines (XP & 98).
The problem is that I can run the ASP files in the wwwroot folder when I use http://localhost from my browser or RUN (and that's for the default.asp). But the asp files do not work when I call them from a hyperlink in an HTML file.

After I moved the site to new server the mailing method stoped working , the cdo pull the email from sql database on the same server .. although it says sent to # recipients.
I send a webpage (newsletter) exisit on the server "I use full url" also the registration page gives when registration the error: CDO.Message.1 error '80040218'

I have a sever 2003 machine of which I am trying to host a webisite on. The webpages I uploaded has lots of .asp files that could not be open. I'd contact the website disgner and complains about it and an he blaims it on my server not supporting asp technology.

In my serverside script I have gone down to the bare bones and the following doesn't seem to work:

The server gets to the end since I place a response.write in to test.
If I cut and past this into VB declare the variables as objects and lineout as string and remove the "Server." from the line when setting fs, then it works fine in VB.

Just set up Dedicated Server Hosting with GoDaddy. I put a very simple ASP page in the home web directory and try to load it and get a very generic error. A simple HTML file works fine. Obviously it's a permissions issue or maybe some service is not running.

New to IIS, Why will IIS 5.0 not server up my ASP web pages? I cannot even get to the help because it is an ASP Page. I get an error in IE that states "HTTP 500 Internal server error". Im finishing up a content management system for a client. It works fine except the way they have the pages set its nessessary for someone to open each page made and change it to the new directory.
the script copys a folder from lets say
http://fake/templets
To
http://fake/user
so now we end up with something like
http://fake/user/smith
On the pages in smith is there a way to make the look at their url and strip off all but the /smith part?
Or maby someone could tell me what im trying to do is called and ill be able to do a better search online.

I have taken some SQL from MS Access and got it working. I have since updated the SQL in Access but cannot get the additional part working in ASP. The working SQL I have in asp is:-

I need to add the following but keep getting errors saying my SQL is

or another variant I require

What is the correct way to write both of these, as I cannot get either

whati have is a table that alternates colour each row so making it easier to look at the info. I also have it to check so that if the stock level is below min change from standard to red.

I am running win2k3, iis6, access db's, for a web app. The
problem is that asp stops working randomly. No errors in
IIS log, no errors in even viewer. It just stops serving
asp. Restarting IIS clears up the problem. This occured
under win2k but maybe once a month. Not that I switched to
win2k3, it happens 4-5 times a day. Any ideas? What would
be the difference?

I am connecting MS Access Database from my ASP Page and trying all possible options. The DSN-less way works fine, even the System DSN and File DSN works fine, but the problem arises when I try to use the USER DSN. It just doesn't work. The error message I got is "Data Source Name not found and no default driver specified" It seems its looking for the system DSN only when I use the following code :

I put the following in the global.asa which is on the root of the web at the top of the asa file:
