I need to create a script that deletes all pdf files in a folder that are over 1 day old. I know I need to use the file system object and datediff but can't for the life of me work it out. I am a bit of a newb when it comes to more complicated asp .
Does anyone have a script that does this or know of a tutorial that will teach me how to do it?
I'm trying to delete files and folders using FSO. But everytime i run the script, it took very long time to run and files or folders weren't deleted. Here's the script : Code:
I developed an ASP intranet solution but I have problems with the DeleteFolder command. If I try to delete a folder without subfolders everything goes fine. If I add some files in the folder that must be deleted it is going to be ok. I can also add some subfolders and I don't have problems but when I add more subfolders with other subfolders and files I get an error of forbidden authorization on the line where there is the DeleteFolder command. This happens randomly and sometimes I can see that only a subfolder hasn't been deleted (while the rest is deleted from the hard disk). If I try to delete it normally windows tell me that I can't delete it! I have to reboot my system in order to delete it!
I checked the permissions and everything seems ok. I can delete specific files and folders but I can't understand why I get this problem.
I'm a Win2000 professional user - sP 4. I can't delete some folders in e:inetpubwwwroot....
I've created them by FrontPage2000 SR1. I enter Windows as Administrator, then I should be able to create /delete all objects. On the contrary, each time I attempt to erase the assigned folder Windows warns me so:
"Access is denied. The source file may be in use."
Is it possible after i run my process i delete text files from server. I run a process to read from text files after that i want to delete these text files so that no one again run the process.I am using ASP.
I want to create a webpage which will list all the files in particular folder and hyperlink to them to allow users to view the grpahics online without having to send each file to them by email.
I got the following code but gives me a VBScript error. I have created a folder called files under the home directory of this website and have added the name of the folder
<%@ LANGUAGE=VBScript %> <% Dim ofs,of Dim fi set ofs = createobject("Scripting.FileSystemObject") set of = ofs.getFolder("files") ' blieve this is the problem For Each fi In of Response.Write("<a href='" + fi.Name + "'>" + fi.Name + "<br>") Next fi %>

I have a folder on the server with several thousand image files in it. I am using the following code to retrieve the image names associated with a given MLS number (this is for a real estate web site): Code:
I am using aspload to allow users to upload three files - 2 pics and a word doc. The files have standard names but I want the user to define the name of the folder.
Is there and efficient way to make sure that the user does not choose illegal characters for folder names? I am doing a series of replaces at the moment.
I have some files located in a file server and managed by a SQL database from a web based interface using ASP + VBSCRIPT technology. I need to automatically copy those files to a web folder.
I know this is not an ASP question but it is a Vbscript question and thats why i post it here. It goes like this. I've been making a treeview in dhtml recently for an intranet. Now i was wondering if it would be possible to make this treeview on the fly with vbscript.
My page is pure html so no asp and should give me the content of the folder in wich the html page is located as well as all subfolders. I know microsoft script page has an example of vbscriptcode that can do this(the enumerating part), but for some unknown reason it doesnt seem to work.
Is there anyone out there who knows how to do this or has done so. (ps i know i can do it with iframes without the treeview, but i would like to make it nice and clean. So html and vbscript seem better).
Am developing a website, thats only allows user with permission to acces certain file.
What I have is a webpage that list all different projects available. When a user clicks on a project, he is asked to enter username and password.
If succesful the user is then taken to a webpage displaying all files available to download for that particular project. Note: All the files asssociated with particular project are in necessary folder. So project London, has a folder called london with all its files in that folder.
How do I get all the files displayed on the webpage for that particular project?
Could anybody show me an example of code to upload files from a local drive, and delete files from the website. of course the easiest way to do that is to use any FTP client.
How would I get an ASP page to delete an image file, probably a .jpg off the server.
Basically, what I want to do, is that when the user deletes a product item from the database, it will also delete the corresponding image file from the images folder. So that the server space doesn't just fill up with redundant image files over time.
If it makes any difference the image files are uploaded using a PHP script, I've no idea how it works, but it does.
I have a Product and that product contains some documents. The documents are uploaded to server and can be viewed in my asp application.
In admin module i have given option to edit or delete that product. In the event of edit just the records in the database get changed. But in the case of delete i have to do 2 things
1. Delete all the data related to that product. 2. Delete all the related documents for that product in the server.
So can anybody help me figure out how to delete a file using asp in ftp server.
I understand how to delete files within a directory using the Scripting.FileSystemObject. However, how can I delete a directory using ASP 2.0 on an older IIS 4.0 server? Do I need to:
1. Delete all the files within the directory. 2. Change the directory's permissions. 3. Delete the directory.
Am I able to delete a directory without changing the permissions? Can I delete a directory with files inside the directory or does the directory need to be empty?
I need a ASP script that can automically populate what ever files are inside a folder and list them on a page so to be able to download them? Is there such a file?
how to automatically "include" all .asp files from a folder? Say I have an ASP page and there's a folder with 3 documents in it: /myfolder/file1.asp, /myfolder/file2.asp, /myfolder/file3.asp.
In my ASP page I want to automatically create server-side includes for all files in that folder so that if I ever add /myfolder/file4.asp, it'll automatically be included in whatever ASP page I have calling this function.
I have client who has database full of crap. One field in the "property" table is imageurl. I have been able to successfully extract only the file name from the string, such as "2030323.jpg". All images are stored in a directory called "listings". What I am trying to do is to loop through the recordset, and read each imageurl.
If there is an image file in the "listings" directory, then delete the file. It appears that some fields contain imageurls that no longer exist in the listing directory. Here is the code I have so far, I almost had it, as it told me at one point the file didn't exist. Then I screwed up the code and this is where I am at: Code:
I try to do a multiple delete of files through FileSystemObject, but after deleting the first file, ASP gives me a "Permission denied" error. Below you see my code:
Set fso = CreateObject("Scripting.FileSystemObject") For Each Item in Request.Form("filename") delFile = path2 & "files" & Item fso.DeleteFile delFile Next
I know this is going to be blindingly simple but I've had one of those days where the more I search and try, the further away from finding the solution I am!
What I'm trying to do is really simple, but the last part of it I can't seem to get right... hopefully someone will spot it straight away.
<% fPath = Server.MapPath(".") qDate = DateAdd("d", -7, Now()) Response.write qDate Set objFSO = Server.CreateObject("Scripting.FileSystemObject") Set Folder = objFSO.GetFolder(fPath) For Each i In Folder.Files If i.DateCreated <= qDate Then 'objFSO.DeleteFile(i.Name) Response.Write i.Name & "<br>" End If Next
Set i = nothing Set Folder = nothing %>
As you can see, I've got down to selecting all the week old files no problem, but when I come to execute the 'objFSO.DeleteFile(i.Name)' line - I either get file not found or nothing at all.
what I need is is when a visitor comes to the site, I need it to check the host name. if "www.hometowndigest.com" is the host, then check a folder named "something" and if the folder does not exsist, create folder "www" and then copy folder "temp" and its contents.
If the folder "www" is there, look in it, check to see if the files in folder "temp" are in there, if not, copy the files that are not from folder "temp" into folder "www". Code:
I have a website that we display images we have saved into a SQL Server 2000 database as binary BLOB. This is on a Windows 2003 Server. Just recently (a week ago) this website began to save the images it is displaying on the website as ASP pages in the Temporary Internet Files > IE.Content > Folder.
We have other websites where we use the exact same code and these do not save files on the server when they are displayed.
Here is the code to display the image: Set rs = objConn.Execute( SQL ) Response.ContentType = "application/octet-stream" Response.BinaryWrite rs("Product_Image")
SQL is the SQL String to get the image from database
When I add this code:
Response.ContentType = "image/jpeg"
The images still display on the website, but now are saved in the Temporary Internet Files folder as JPG's.
Can a php file be executed inside an asp file? I need to execute a php file in another asp file but i'm not so sure it's possible. My server can run both asp and php and they run without any problems... I just need to find a way to include the execution results of the php file in the asp one. Is it possible to use SSI and include the executed php file and then the executed asp file in a main ssi file?
