I have two forms, the first of which has a dropdown with which the user specifes how many banner ads he wishes to upload for a client. So say he enters the client info and wants to upload 5 banners. The form passes to another page which uses a loop to output form fields. Each form field name is something like name="msg<%= count%>" or name="url<%=count%>".
In the 3rd-Party script I am using I then have this script ....
I am trying to add an option on a form to upload an image to an access database, but I can't seem to get it working. I am able to upload regular text fields to the database with no problem, but got stuck at uploading image.
I don't want to upload the name of image, just the actual jpeg/gif image. I've searched many websites and forums, but codes aren't working. Can someone help me with this? Here are the codes:
i have now found codes to get the images from the the access database, but i havnet found the code for uploading to an access database. can anyone please help me? i just need the code sample to upload images to an access database.
I have just uploaded the files to a where they will reside and am now getting the following error
Error Type: Microsoft JET Database Engine (0x80004005) The Microsoft Jet database engine cannot open the file ' syd9004papc$InetpubwwwrootGMS_Statsgms_st ats.mdb'. It is already opened exclusively by another user, or you need permission to view its data.
I have checked IIS on the server where this DB resides and have allowed as much rights as I can ... Has anyone seen this error before? I realise it must have something to do with security but I don't know if it's IIS or DB related?
uploading images directly to a field (of type OLE Object) in the table in access database and also how would I get them displayed in the products page.I need to know this for an online catalogue management site and have done similar things a lot of times using Persits.
Upload where I upload the images to a location in the site and refer the location and file name in the database. But, unfortunately, this server doesnt support this object and I need to find a way as explained above.
I want to upload either image or word document into either access or SQL server database so far I am doing some small testings and what I can do is upload the file from first page and display at the next page with (both image or word are working fine).
however, I cann't insert them into the database, Plus, what type should I use in access database? Code:
I'm having this problem with uploading a file and updating the database at the same time the file will get uploaded but nothing will get updated into the database. Can anyone help me out. The third page is where everything is going wrong but i put all my pages in so you can see whats going on.
I want to be able to upload a image to a directory called 'images' on my server and also save the file name in a database. is there anything out there that does this without a COM?
is there a way i can read into two tables in the same database access file?and if so.. how would i write the code?the code below is already connected to a database reading from table1.. and i wish to read it from table2 as well...
rsMap.Source = "SELECT * FROM table1 WHERE (State = '" + Replace(rsMap__MMColParam, "'", "''") + "') OR (City LIKE '%" + Replace(rsMap__MMColParam2, "'", "''") + "%') ORDER BY City ASC"
I worked on a database on PWS (Personnal Web Server). But transferring the database and all the files (html is used for inputting "search" words, asp used for results from database table). Here is my code:
I am methodically working my way through the Sitepoint 'Build your own ASP.NET website' and have been successful in every lesson up to page 279. However I've come stuck when trying to add information to an Access Database. When I try to do so I get the message:
Operation must use an updateable query. Description: An unhandled exception occurred during the execution of the current web request. Please review the stack trace for more information about the error and where it originated in the code.
Exception Details: System.Data.OleDb.OleDbException: Operation must use an updateable query.
I have tried the solution described in the book but still get the message. I am using IIS and XP Professional. The database works for queries so how do I get it to accept information entries?
My client has various Access databases that they want to be able to access (using MS Access, not through ASP pages). I thought I'd be able to create the link from an HTML page but when I do that and click the link, the file is downloaded to the local temp folder. I want the database to open directly from the web server, and then changes must be saved.
We face problems uploading excel (with macros) documents using HTML File Upload.
The file contents are corrupted while viewing the same. However, we are able to upload excel (w/o. macros) documents successfully. Is there anything we have to take care of, while handling uploads of excel documents with macros?
I have a database with Image paths for a field (fldImagePath) How can I make an ASP script where if it CANNOT FIND the image at the specified path, that it uses a default image instead ("which will be a product image not available" image) Do I have to use Error trapping?
I've been writing a website for dynamic access, meaning any customer can login to their website (I run a website business) and edit pages. However I'm having a delima of how I should write this part, I'm storing everything in a Access database and accessing it using SQL. The user can create a link, and then select the page it links to using a dropdown list to create links on the navigation menu. Now they need to create the page, and I'm wondering how I should store this. Should I store ALL the code (including the ASP?) into a Memo field inside access, or should I create a 'first half' asp page and a 'second half' asp page and then have my system store all the content and stuff into the access field? So basically the page would be assembled somehow: ASP Part 1 - Starting Code Content grabbed from Access Field ASP Part 2 - Closing Code and then just store the Content inside the field? If so, should I create 2 include files and then tell my system to make a new page, include part1, store the content, then include part2?
I'm having a problem with the fact that I want to allow image files to be uploaded to a remote web server, as the hosting package the web site is on is IIS6 and has a default file upload size limit of 200kb. As it's a shared hosting package, the default limit cannot be changed for me unfortunately.
Anyway - i need to check the size of the file being uploaded, so i can notify the user and prevent them getting the default Microsoft error message page. The problem is that I can't implement a server side size check which works, using either Request.TotalBytes or load.getFileSize (with "load" being an object of my loader class). It seems that I can't carry out any of these operations when the file size is too large.
I would like to add a facility to my web page which allows users to upload basic files (word, excel, text, gif, jpg etc) to the server.
I know there's a facility to do this using HMTL forms, but I don't know how to handle the file on the server side.
What I think I need is an ASP file running some code to manipulate the filesystemobject, allowing me to receive the file and store it in the filesystem on the server. It would be nice to access some of the file properties too (name, type etc).
I've seen a few custom components online which allow you to do this, but I can't depend on installing them. I need to be able to script it myself.
Dynamic Content - Is there a way to keep information in some main memory pool in IIS so that each thread of execution (each visit to the site) would have access to it. I do not want to hit the db every time a visitor hits a new page on my site?
I have a Development server that is running Win2k, IIS 5.0, and ASP enabled. I am trying to gain access to an Access 2000 DB located on a file server within my domain. I'm pretty sure I have all the correct permissions set, but I am having problems when trying to access the DB.
The error is similar to:
The Microsoft Jet Database engine cannot open the file '******'. It is already opened exclusively by another user, or you need permission to view its data.
I'm looking for ways to fix this... Microsoft suggests turning off the ability for IIS to sync passwords. Unfortunately, this is not a viable solution for me.
Is it possible to create a new virtual server that is a share to my file server? Put my ASP and MDB file in there and have it work? Anyone have any other ideas?
i have list of items as a list. Now user can select any item in that list. Now what i do is create checkboxes to enable user to check the item which has to be selected.
1. Checkboxes are dynamic.
2. I create checkboxes with one name assign value = Itemcode value so that when form is submitted i can get the itemcode value as a comma seperated list and which would be easy for me to put it in a database query.
3. the part i have problem is i have to display those checkboxes ticked back to user , ie after form submit i have to make the checkbox which are previously checked, to be in checked state.
request.form("Chkgroup")="1,4,5,6,9,10"
assume this is an arrray i am getting from form element.what is the easiest and efficient method so that i can make those checkbox checked again.
The only difference is this time I am inserting the primary key rather than using an auto number. the following error message appears:
Microsoft OLE DB Provider for ODBC Drivers (0x80040E2F) [Microsoft][ODBC Microsoft Access Driver]Error in row I went onto the microsoft kb and the said that it was something to do with the PK. Has anyone encountered this problem before
I am trying to develop a web site in which the user can add records to the database from an admininstration section of the site. I'm using an access database (there will only be about 60 or so records at any time).
I can create a page that makes the user fill out a form to add a record like the sample below...but I'd also like a place where the user can just upload a CSV file directly into the database. I don't know a lot about ASP, but I'm planning on doing it in DMX.
