I have created a table that I want to fill with calculated values. I have given ID's to each cell. This must NOT be the way since I can't address these ID's. How do I store values in table cells from my PostBack?
I've decided after several failed attempts this is too difficult to do on my own. I know it's been done before and a tutorial or code must by lying around somewhere.
I have a Weekly Calendar
It's in a table with 7 columns and 22 rows
Across the top I have Monday thru Sunday
Down the side I have half-hour time increments - 8:00am - 10:00pm
I would like to display my events on the table, corresponding to their day and time. If it spans several hours I would like the event to span several rows.
Basically look like an Outlook Calendar.
I've tried this myself with five dozen if/then statments and embedded loops but it's a huge mess.
I'd like to find out how to simply do this in asp (not ready for .net yet), any ideas?
I have an interesting problem and am looking for some advice. I am hoping to build an asp whereby records are pulled from SQL Server. These records will be merely file locations for thumbnail images I hope to display in a grid.
Rather than having a grid be constructed row-to-row, I was wondering if it is at all possible to dynamically construct this grid as a table of thumbnails whereby each cell (perhaps 5-6 columns across) represents one record? I have no idea how one would construct this loop that spans columns AND rows rather than just rows.
I have a web page form that I would like to use some ASP code in. As it stands right now I have a text box (field) that is straight HTML.I want to use the number that is put into the field to generate that number of rows in a table further down in the form.So I am posing this question how would I go about doing this.I am able to use ASP and Javascript (if need be).Or should I start over and code the entire form in ASP?

I am trying to add rows to a table dynamically, using JScript. Can I someone explain, how to add events to the newly added cells/ rows? Following code does not fire the onmousemove event. Code:
I have an ASP VBScript page with a dynamic table. Each row contains a dynamic price, a qty field, and a total. The total on each row changes (onChange() ) when a qty is entered (this works fine). I now need to total up the 'total' fields and put a 'GrandTotal' into a variable for later
I have a dynamic table, with a column named "player" in this column is NBA player names - generated from a statistic database. I am hoping to be able to create a link on the players name that will direct the webuser to a profile page like the following: http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/players/profile?statsId=3282
I am having trouble becasue the stat page is not by the player name but a numbered ID.
I tried using a player search like follows: <a href=http://www.tsn.ca/nba/player_list.asp?name=<%=(Blair.Fields.Item("IDPlayer").Value)%>&Submit=GO ><%=(Blair.Fields.Item("IDPlayer").Value)%></a></td>
When I do this it only seems to search for the first name.
I have a dynamic table which is checking data from Access database and filling up the table appropriately. In my development environment of Windows 2000, the table displays properly but after hosting (that same source file), the table is not displayed. The error occurs at the following point:
I have an .asp page that contains a drop down menu, that when a selection is made, reformats the page to one of 22 different .asp pages. When clicked, the drop-down disappears and the options from it are formatted as a list on the left hand side of the page.
I need to format this so the list is in 3 columns, with the secection bold. I think I need about 4 if..then statements, but I've never done this before...here's the specific code, the code for the drop-down is first, then the code for the "quick link" list: Code:
i am just trying to build a table that will put content into 2 columns. Ideally, if there were 20 hits, 1-10 would be in column 1 and then 11-20 would appear in column 2...i just can't seem to figure it out. I had started by getting a recordcount, and dividing it by 2, but things got a little fuzzy after that.
1) I build a Html Table dynamically (Header Row, and then 2 rows with data All 2 rows have 2 cells: cell(0) contains a delete button (ASP Button), cell(1) contains a HTML Text box
2) On Form Load and get some data from a dataset and then from it's contents build the page
At this point the page is rendered and 2 rows are displayed. There is an Add button that a user can click to add another row to the table. This works fine and the row is added.
Now if the user clicks the delete button in row 2 the form is posted back, I rebuild the page, and then in the click event for the delete button remove the row from the table and the dataset. All appears to be fine at this point.
Now if the user clicks the add button again another row is added, but this time row 2's textbox has the wrong value. It appears to be related to the view state. I think the view state somehow is not getting cleared when the row is removed.
I need to sum the values in different cells of an excel sheet which im getting from data base and which is in a loop and the number of entries depends on the user.
I've seen lots of posts on this and other boards, but nothing seems to work for me. I need to import data from an Excel spreadsheet using ASP. None of the ranges in the spreadsheet are named. I'm using this code:Code:
<% Set ExcelConn = Server.CreateObject("ADODB.Connection") Set ExcelRS = Server.CreateObject("ADODB.Recordset") ExcelConn.Provider = "Microsoft.Jet.OLEDB.4.0" ExcelConn.Properties("Extended Properties").Value = "Excel 8.0" ExcelConn.Open "c:inetpubwwwrootaspcalendar est.xls"
set ExcelRS = ExcelConn.Execute ("SELECT * FROM [Sheet1$]")
Response.Write(ExcelRS($A$1))
%> I've tried every variation on "ExcelRS($A$1)" that I can think of - I've seen "ExcelRS(1,1)" used, but that doesn't work... What is the syntax for accessing Excel data by cell coordinates?
I get data out of a database and the user can save this data on his disk in Excel format. Some cells has a large lenght of numbers (eg. 20060512000000). If I open the excel file, the cell where that number is in shows the following : 2.00605E+13.
I have to go into Format Cell and convert this to 'Number' and no decimal places. Is there a way in ASP to define the cells ?
if i have an standard excel file and i have data in there in specific cells. Is it possible to have some upload facility that will be able to paste it to specific asp form textboxes?
e.g if the data in the excel file was in cell c4, i would want to paste it into textbox4. Is that possible.
OR
Is it possible to upload an excel file and to put specifc data from different cells directly into an access database.
e.g excel file -c4 i would want to paste it to rs("test4")
I have an ASP page that loops through a SQL Server 2000 table, then downloads an Excel sheet the users can save, etc. Works fine, except, I see that in one particular "comments" field the Excel sheet returns a #VALUE! error in the cell when there is a large amount of text. I've looked through the MSKB, MSDN and many ng posts to see if there is a workaround or solution to this, inclduing looking at the xlWorksheet properties (I've tried 'xlWorksheet.Cells(iRow, 11).WrapText = True), played with Orientation, etc. But to no avail.
I need to come up with an if statement that will basically take a large list of records and place each one into its own table cell, and when the cells reach a max of 5 in a row, start a new row and repeat. How can I go about this?
I am developing an application which uses data represented using color codes, in an MS-Excel worksheet. The application has to assign values based on the backgroundcolor of a cell. Like, Black = 0, Red=1, Green=2.
How to determine the background of the cell in ASP?
One of my programmers is using Office Web Components in classic ASP to create, fill and format an Excel spreadsheet. Everything is fine except when he creates Merged cells the performance drops dramatically. He has investigated the 'Center Across Cells' alternative but cannot get it working using Office Web Comonents.
Has anyone come across this problem or even better has a solution?
I code that creates a calendar for each month and then it displays events from that month that are stored in a db. I need to loop through my recordset and display all the events, but I can't quite figure out how to do it. I am thinking I need to do an array. But I am not really sure.... any ideas. Here is where you can view the calendar. Code:
I have aproblem to transfer a data from table x to table y based on id. Its mean when 2 table have same id all data table x must move to table y. I don't know which command need to use is it insert into or update?
<% Dim conn Dim rs Dim MYSQL,MYSQL2
Set conn = Server.CreateObject("ADODB.Connection") Set rs = Server.CreateObject("ADODB.Recordset") Set cmd = Server.CreateObject("ADODB.Recordset") conn.ConnectionString = "DSN=prmm;UID=administrator;pwd=sa" conn.Open
I have a table with many txt boxes which i have inside a form with a submit button to an update page which adds all the details to a db. The problem is i have a another table inside the first e.g. table 2. i want to be able to update table2 by clicking a second submit button that would update it. Is it possible to have a form within a form or how can i do it??
Also i need to update the entire table in one go. For exampple if i have 3 records in table2 i want to be able to update them all by clicking the one update button. Code:
I have the following code but this is inserting manually. I want to make a query from table 1 and automatically enter the records into table 2. What needs to be modified? Code:
Have an app which dynamically creates table rows depending on records, these can be several hundred (don't ask). Hence a very long page at time. Each row includes a hyper link to a new page, and a link back to the original page.
Is there any method (maybe via js) where on leaving the second page l can redirect the browser to the table row the end user clicked on? Hence the bookmarking. Can do this via Visual Basic on the desktop app, but can't work it out on the web app.
I have a table produced with names across the top and services down the left hand side with boxes for numbers for people who recieve services then the info is written into a table in an access db. That works fine and here is that code:
I have two tables. Table A has 20,000 records, Table B has 2,000 records. Table A is what needs to be updated from the data in Table B. Only some fields will be updated and of course, only some records - both tables have the same field as a ClientID so matching up records should be easy.
Anyways, been a while since I have used ASP to work on things like this but would like to work through this one. I understand the process I believe, it is just how to make it go on to the next record once it has finished updating the first.
Basically, I was thinking of having it set up to reaad the top record from Table B, update applicable data in Table A. Delete that record in Table B. Move on to the next.
Ok, I have a Javascript ASP and in it I have a dynamic repeating table with certain attributes to people. If one of these attributes is old or invalid, i want to change the color of the text (and maybe make it flash, blink, change size, something) so that it's easy to read.
