I am trying to create a file on another server, but I get either "Permission Denied" or "Path not found" errors. If it helps, the folder I am attempting to put it in is a shared folder. here is the path that I am trying to put the file in...Code:
set f=fs.CreateTextFile("192.168.50.15E:Common est.txt",true)
I have made a asp page that will read a db table and select certain fields concerning the current day's activities to be written to a text file. After the information about the current day's activities has been compiled, it is stored in a variable and written to a text file.
What I would like to do is create a text file for each day instead of over-writing the same one. Is there another Server.CreateObject method that will allow the 'creation' of a text file rather than just over-writing a text file that already exists? I would use "month(date)", "day(date)","year(date)" to append to a text file name to keep it unique.
Below is what I currently use to create a text file. But any new information will only overwrite what is already contained in the text file. Code:
Is it possible to create tabs dynamically using asp. eg .i m working on three projects. so when i open the portal, it will show me information of each project in three diff tabs with the name of project displayed on the tab. If tomorrow i ll be working on 2 or 4 projects it will display me only 2 or 4 tabs.
I am using a repeated field to bring in to my page repeated records, and I have been able to retrieve values that are entered into text boxes that are associated with these repeated fields. I would like to post these values into a database, but I'm not sure how to set up my table as I know that each employee's values as well as number of fields will be different.
I thought about setting up two tables. One that houses the dynamic question and the other to house the answers, but I'm not sure if that will work. I could really use help as to the syntax to write a loop statement that will insert my returned variables and create the field names dynamically into my database table. I believe this is what i need to do.
I am generating a series of tables in CSS. The tables should repeat themselves for a number of times governed by a counter that is calculated at runtime by the ASP code. The problem is that I have used top margins to position the tables in the ASP page.
So the tables when repeated super-impose on the tables that are already placed at that margin position. Can someone suggest me a better way out to resolve this?
my ASP code creates a form and an array of chekbox with this statement response.write "<input type='checkbox' name='chkProduct" & Cstr(counter) & "' value='delete'>" all goes well and i also have a button that points to a VBScript function passing one parameter the counter start value so i can loop throught the checkboxs on the client side and determine if checked or not.
Ok i can display my command "document.frmProductCart.chkProduct & (Cstr(counter)) & .checked" as a string in alert but cannot make it as a command like it should be, anyone got any pointers ?
I have an asp email applciation that will be used to create a newsletter. I want to me able to enter a few lines of text into the textarea part of the form. Then if I want to add a hyper link to the textarea. I just want to click a buttom and add the html tags into the body of textarea along with the text I enter above the hyper link.
I'm trying to figure out how to run a script on my server which will go over a few folders of Word documents, and create html pages out of them which I can then serve to my users. Preferably I want to do this without installing anything else on the server, hopefully it's achievable with a scripting language like VBscript/ASP?
I am used to web programming in PHP,Perl, Java, but for this I need to use ASP, on IIS. I've Googled & Yahooed and not come up with much.
I'm trying to build a part of an application that will use an include file based on a user's selection (still in ASP 3.0!). Their selection is stored in a database. I've tried using variables as either the entire include file or in parts of the include file, but nothing I've tried works - I.e.:
I have built dynamic HTMLTable. Now I want to attach it directly to the Email Body - it is already built, so why not to use a ready table. However, I cannot find the way of getting plain HTML text out of dynamically built control. I tried to put my table between div and read div.innerHTML then - HTTP exception has been thrown.
I have two environments: DEV and PROD. In DEV I have two independent webs. In PROD one of the webs is the root and the other is a subweb of the root.
Each enviornment has a different file system configuration so I must manually change the file location references in my code when I post from DEV to PROD. Code:
I want to create an ASP page that will load information from an access database, and after loading save the file as an HTML file.I need him to this alone, without user guideness.I need an ASP page that will be able to create as much HTML pages as I want.
I want to create static HTML pages from my Database after updating my website using ASP and a CMS. The idea behind this is that when I submit my new information using my CMS the ASP will put it into a DB and then somehow convert this info into a single html page.
The reason behind this is so that the ASP is only run once and when I decide, and from then on the all requests to my page outputs an HTML file, hence a faster service.
Is th only way of doing this with the WriteLine method of the FSO object? Surely there must be an easier way. The trouble with this is that to do a whole page takes a lot of time consuming formatting. Ok so know this only has to be done once but when you have 1000+ lines of code its quite a hassle. Code:
Could you be so kind and gives me a function which creates mail in ASP language. But I would like to create a mail with ENTER breaklines and I would like to have background changed, bold fonts, so I mean to use HTML code to create such mails. Is it possible in ASP?
I am working on a e-commerce site for a while and few days ago I was going throuh the actual plan and checking what's can and cant be done.the way I am getting data in and out of the databse is having a mojor issue with the speed here. Can I create a static page of feature products as they are updated once every month.. basically I want to be able have the products in the dadabase and but its no point calling up to the database to get these information everytime someone visits the page.I want to create a static page so that it only changes when an administrator request it to change.like a monthly update.
I have a rather large form in HTML that needs to be sent as an email. The body of the email is approx. 400 lines (that's in HTML). Is it possible to somehow transfer the entire form to the asp mail script so that it automatically sets the body of the email to contain this form (with input)? Or do I have to write the body by hand in my asp script - like this:
line 001 Body = "<table><tr><td>some text & var1 & </td></tr> " ... ..
i have a web site built using vbasic active server scripting running on iis (it works on either iis 50 and 60, but is designed for iis 50). i know how to create a plain text email by creating a text file, with content following certain format, and saving that file into the correct '..mailrootpickup' folder, and it is working fine.
what i would like to know is how to create and send an email in html format from my server script. i will appreciate anyone who can tell me where to find instructions on how to do this.
I have looked on the net, but obvious not in the correct place for this.with this mega tourney site i am working on, i am thinking of several ways to do this efficiently. so what i want to do, is when a new tourney is created, create a folder on my server that is named the id number of the tourney. this is the easy part.
next, i will have a temp folder with all the tourney files in it, that i would want to copy to the new folder. but i have not found a good way to copy these files.can someone stear me in the right direction?currently, i have been using querystrings to determine the correct id, and it is working fine. i just think that doing it this wat, would be easuer to keep each event seperate.
how to create a spreadsheet with info from a database. Is there a way to create the spreadsheet on the users computer instead of on the web server? I want to prevent a whole lot of xls files from being created and stored on the server.
I need to dynamically create subdomains, or folders, on my site. I am currently developing a portal where when the person registers he/she gets their own sub-domain on my site. Either that or I need to create a subfolder for them on the site. I am developing in ASP and need some advice/help urgently.
i know how to create text files using ASP, but is there any way to create fixed width text file using ASP? i need to have the data lined up in the same location at each row.
My client has purchased 'software' - it really is just a series of html documents. I need to ensure that these pages are protected and only those who log in can view them.
I am building an asp/db based login front end to ensure that users have paid for the system. I just do not know how to protect the files from there because they are html. Converting them to asp is not an option.
