following which Im suppose to auto generate a password and email it to them at the same time(after they have submitted their registration form).

What I want to know is how can I retrieve this value after I have applied this update. Using MySQL I know there was a way to retrieve autogenereated keys, but is there something similar that I can do via the ADO stuff and access?
I output a list of towns from a database via a normal recordset loop into a normal paragraph with links - BUT for some reason it is totally pushing the page out... is there any reason for this? I also placed trim() on the town name in case there were lots of mistaken spaces, etc. Code:

information and selects the rep to receive the referral. My data is being
saved to a backend database (SQL) and the user is receiving a confirmation
page after hitting the Submit button. Now, what I need is a way to have an
email sent to the rep that is selected in the drop down list on the asp form.
I have a SQL table containing the reps and corresponding email addresses.
Is it even possible to achieve what I am trying to do? I am trying to avoid
sending a blanket email to a single address and having someone filter them
from there.
I wrote an asp script to generate an email only to find there is no mail server on the server running my scripts.

i'd start by adding a new row containing the email address, dateTime, etc
when first sending the email, but how to track the rest of the info? for
instance, if an email bounces back, does it bounce back to IIS or to the
"from" email address? what about the blocked (i.e. spam filter) emails? is
there a way to track blocked email? since most spam filters don't generate
response emails, there's not much i can really do about this, is there?
this will be run off an IIS6 server. can anybody tell me my options?
we have an Access database of our clients. It has fields for email addresses and date of expiry of their rents. I would like to write an application that would email our clients automatically according to the dates in the database fields, giving notice that their rent is about to expire like for example, within one month.

View Replies View RelatedI have my edit page set so that, at a later date when payment comes in, I change the field "Confirmation of Funds" to Yes, which has a value of 1, which automatically sends an email to the customer whose funds I've received.
The problem is, if I go into the edit page later, to change an address or whatever, the email will get sent again, since the Confirmation of Funds field is still set to 1.
Is there a code I can stick in, after the code which sends the email, that will change the Confirmation of Funds field to 3, which I have as "Email Sent"? I already have that as a selection in my dropdown box, but I need to automatically change it after the email is sent.
I'm thinking something along the lines of
If COnfirmation of Funds = 1 Then
Confirmation of Funds = 3
End If
Obviously that's wrong (I even tried it!) Can someone give me the proper syntax?
I am trying to add to a web site I am currently designing the function of automatic email sending. I want users to be able to sign up to a mailing list by completing a form (easy enough) and when they click 'Submit', the information is sent to my clients email address. I can quite happily programme everything described here and to auto launch the users email editor (Outlook/Thunderbird etc) with Subject and Body automatically completed but cannot send the information WITHOUT launching the email editor! I see this function on many web sites - no fuss, not even having to click the SEND button, just Submit and it's gone! This is obviously important for people with hotmail accounts etc who don't use Outlook/Thunderbird.

I got return email that the mail fail to deliever to AOL user. I assuming AOL email doesn't accept ASP script embedded in the email?

One way is scheduling job in SQL. But what if I am using access?
Another way is to create a vb program that runs in background. But what if my Host Server does not allow me to register dll?

I have a client who wants to password protect a learning course that is set up in modules. Each module needs to have it's own password protection so users can only access them as they progress through the course.
Each user should have their own password (for each module) and, said client would like the password to expire for the user at some (predetermined?) point. Is this possible? It seems like a lot (in terms of setup), but I don't know much about password stuff.
If it is possible, can someone give me an overview of how it works (theoretically) or where to find more specific info on setting something like this up (in ASP.net)
If it isn't possible, can someone suggest what is more reasonable in terms of protecting the modules?

cannot be read on one type of mobile phone (giving invalid content error).
I've also tried message = message + " Bye" but that gives the same problem.This email can be read on all otehr types of phones. A single string can be read, but as soon as the string is ended and then started again,it breaks.

How do I retreive the new value of that form?

have a number of text box rows generated dynamically with the same name. This gets posted to the same page as a comma delimted string.
The Problem: If a user enters a comma the string gets disjointed.
Need to parse(remove commas)the dynamic text box values generated on client side.

I get number of participants in an exam, from a sql statement and stored into a variable called headcount.
After that, I am using the following to initialize randomly generated variables. For example if there are 4 students in the class, I intend to get student1, student2, student3 and student4, all of them initialized to 0.
