Currently I have online survey, which uses ASP and Access database. Now, I wanted a email send to the sender after they hit submit, what should I do? I don't know where to start! My server is running on WIN2000AdvanceServer.
how to go about setting up an asp script or flash action script to take the input from a user of his/her username and password then send an email to the user with the information. I am able to do all of this but the problem is that the users pc is the one sending the email. I want the server to send the email instead.
I have a login script and everything, I just have one problem. The thing is, is that I want to check how many users are online. It is very simple to do that, but is there a way to check when their user-session ends, or something? In the database all it is is a simple yes or no under "online" and if they are logged in it goes to "yes" and if they access a page while logged out, there is no way to check if they are online or not. How should I go about doing this?
And if you give me a code, can you please tell me how it works so I can easily modify it(It's just that it'd take a lot less time with you explaining it, than me figuring it out All I need is a simple wording
i want to check if a user is online or not,i mean the user use http protocol to access my site,if he close his browser ,how can i know it IMMEDIATELY? so the session can be used here? i found some chatroom using this technology, if possible, give me the java answer also?
i am new to asp and web designing, and was wondering how to reload a page so that a different set of images appear, depending on which submit button is pressed. Code:
I have problem with displaying online user id. What I did is to have a table to store user id each time they login. When user click logout, the system will delete that user id using his session user id. The problem is if the user didn't click logout, that user id in the db will not be deleted. How do I fix this problem?
My web site is windows authenticated. When someone connect to my site, I get his SID with a small active X object which uses OpenProcessToken and GetTokenInformation (token user etc ...
But now, I also need the SID list from AD user object SIDHistory. (when a user is moved across domain).
I'm just wondering if there is ordering online software which has a feature to create a customised user environment (different product and prices for different user) for each login user? I really need that feature for one of my customer.
If it is not available could you please suggest a product that has this feature?
I am making a script to login and check account information. I have a script to login users in to the system but once logged in it displays everyones info. how do i set it to display only there information?

I'd like to have a frequently used link page on our intranet that displays the urls' based on a users's ad group membership, i.e. if from accounting show general ledger reports, if from loans, show credit report. I'm not much worried about hiding from enterprising users, i'd just like to make it simpler rather than having people have to scroll through pages of links.
I'm working on a logon script that needs to query AD for the current user's information. Phone numbers, email address, etc. One thing that makes it a little bit more difficult is that I don't have the full dn for the user; I only have the base dc and cn.
Microsoft's documentation on all of this is lacking greatly, so I've been racking my brains quite a bit.
has anybody implemented the functionality for users to fax an online form instead of emailing? Do I need to go through a third party (software or company) to get it faxed or is there some code out there which can do the conversion?
My company needs an online form that user's can enter information into and once submitted, will dump the user-supplied info into a csv file and email it to the person who heads up the project. Initially, I thought they wanted the form to save the data to a database, and after playing all weekend, I was able to do that. Today I learned that they prefer the emailing a csv file method instead. Any links to tutorials on this subject or sample code with explanation would be greatly appreciated!
I am working on a little project and my knowledge of .asp is very small. From what I am looking at it looks like my form should be sending correctly. Can anyone help me out w/ some code for an sendfile.asp that could send this form information to an email address?
I am copying the exact html from the page onto here...sorry if its a little long its really only like 6 different inputs....
I am trying to construct a form that gives some basic info and emails it to me. Thats the easy bit thanks to the excellent tutorial from Dhtmlgod (?).
I have a email template with a custom Html footer that loads from global asa, I can get it to load in the email and send etc. but the form contents don't get shown.
What do I need to put in the template that will show the form contents and the custom footer.
I am creating a page in ASP (I recently taught myself ASP so I'm no expert by any stretch of the imagination).
This page is going to put data in a database, which then an adminstrator needs to approve, and then the data will be moved to a different DB allowing it to be viewed on the web). The issue is that in all reality someone may post data once a month at most. Since I am currently the one who needs to approve the data, and I am not one who will remember to check if any data is in the DB on a regular basis, I would like to know if there is a way I can have the form send me an email everytime data is inputted in the database, this way I know I need to review and approve the data.
I have an "Email Club" signup form, where I need the user to enter their name, email and zip code. The form is submitted to a script, the script looks up their zip in a database and returns some data, then passes that data and their email, name etc, to a third-party email marketing server.
Is there a way to submit a form to another server using just ASP? I'd rather not load a dummy form, then auto-submit it with JS or create another form for the user to submit manually...
I'm working on an email message sent in HTML format. As the email reach the adressee the HTML is correctly visualizaed (I made sever tests with Outlook 2003).
The fact is that the code contains a <formthat should be submitted to an external ASP page. The <formtag naturally cointains a target=_blank and a proper action.
Anyway it semms to be impossible to make the form work. The submit does not work; it is evidently an Outlook permission matter...
I verified that sever other things such as <iframes and Javascript code do not work at all when an HTML is visualized in Outlook.
Is there a way, in your knowledge to go round the problem?
I'm really new to this and want to submit the data entered in a form to my email address. My problem is that I get the email but none of the data is being "grabbed" so although I get the headers I don't actually receive any of the information I really need.
I would like to have some recording capability that will tell me the "Most number of user's ever online?" similar to SitePoints. how can I add this to my current "Who's Online?" script?
I need to get the userName from an Email address. For example, if the email is Join Bytes!, how can I can I get just the "username" part using the RIGHT() or LEFT() functions?
Does anyone know if its possible to create and email HTML forms. Email recipients would then input information to these forms in the same way that they would on a web page. Pressing the submit button would mail the form back, after which it would be separately submitted to an ASP page on the web server for processing.
The main reason for this is so we don't have all the issues associated with firewalls and security to deal with. Our corporate mail servers will strip out viruses so that not a problem.
i have designed and implemented an asp site that allows users to register online and they decide what password they want , but i want to be able to include code that will send a mail to the user on registering thanking him/her for registering with the site.
How can I write a program to send automated email to user's email address after they registered to my site.
I want my email has HTML format or even links. Not just one sentence. Once the user click on the link or reply this email, their registration will be complete.
Could anyone provide asp.net code that would generate an automated email containing a users password from a database when they submit there email address. Any good sites on the subject either!

I got return email that the mail fail to deliever to AOL user. I assuming AOL email doesn't accept ASP script embedded in the email?
I have this asp page (see code below). It grabs the values from the previous page and populates the email which gets sent to the recipient from the person bidding on his product. I need to grab the bidder's email address (he is logged in when sending this email) from the database.
I can't seem to figure out the code for grabbing a logged in visitor's information from the database to display in the "From" field. Can anyone help? I need the code that grabs his email address, and the code that goes in the "mailer.from" variable to populate that field. Here's the code:
Is it possible to create an ASP page that can notify the user that they have an email on our Exchange server? And that will list the number of unread emails they have waiting in their inbox.
I want an automatic email to send to a user when they register, the first page looks like this, i took away all the table information and what have you ....
