View Repliesfrom ASP/VBScript, I can send an email using CDO - is it possible
to send a meeting request for Outlook?
I currently have my asp page firing off an email from outlook to confirm a booking. I would like it to fire a meeting request instead so that the recipient can accept the meeting request and it will show in their outlook calendar. Is this possible? Code:

View Replies View RelatedI was asked if it was possible to send Outlook Meeting Requests through ASP. I know how to send mail using Server.CreateObject("CDONTS.NewMail") but I don't know if sending a meeting request (with buttons Accept, Decline, Tentative) is possible.
I have a form which grabs the date, time, and location of the meeting but currently its just sent through regular email.
I'm writing an ASP page where the user can specify criteria for an online report that might take so long to generate as to justify rather sending the result as a CSV file by email.
I'm looking for ideas / best practice to manage the request for the CSV.
What I already have is ..
1. The ASP form that collects the report criteria.
2. An MTS object that receives these criteria and builds a matching recordset, and parses the results into a report (HTML format/CSV/whatever).
3. Also, the MTS object uses CDONTS (NT4 server still) to prepare an email and attach the parsed report as a file.
The problem is: when the user requests an email, I want control to immediately return to the ASP page so that the report can be prcessed and emailed in the background. Otherwise, what's happening now is that the user has to wait for the whole recordset to be processed and emailed, before the ASP page returns control to him!
What I don't want to do is: go and write a record to a database table, which some sort of polling app will pick up separately and generate the email ....
i already create a code to request all fields from a previous page form using the next function y separate the fields with the value of each one. Code:
View Replies View RelatedWhy does the error below occur whenever the statement Request.BinaryRead Request.TotalBytes) is executed for uploads larger than 100K? I thought the 100K limit applied only to Request.Form. This does not occur with smaller uploads. This is running on an IIS 6 server with full FP2002 extensions.

Request.Form and Request.BinaryRead cannot be called after each other as it causes errors.
I need the BinaryRead and I also need to access other form values, but I cannot call them after one another. What do I do?
What is the difference between these two statements? They seem to do the

response.write(request.querystring("variable"))
when the asp page is Request("txtName").i can use "testpage.aspx?txtName=User1" to post the value.but when i use Request.Form("txtName").i cannot use that method,what can i do to solve that problem.(as i cannot modifty the request.form syntax but i need to post data to that web page, is there any method so that i can pass that parameter?)
View Replies View RelatedI saw some program using "request("fieldname") " instead of "request.QueryString" to get the value from URL, what's the different ?
View Replies View RelatedIm running a simple mail system program which emails newsletters to a database list of 3000+ users.
The program loops through a database containing the emails and sends them out using ASPEmail.
My question is, is there some way i can validate each email address so that if there are invalid characters e.g. the space in "blah @blah.com"
it will skip the record and continue the loop.
At the moment i have a working program however, whenever the program comes across an invalid email address it stops at that record and prevents the program from emailing any further.
I am having a problem formatting an email message which comes from a form.
I am currently having difficulty with the <br> tag which I am using for line spaces within my email. I am getting an expected statement error message which is pointing to the line which is underlined below. I can't think what is causing this.
The code for my processing page is below:-
1. I want users to type in their email address on a textfield, and after users press the "Submit" button. The info will automatically go to another person's email to receive a compliment, suggestion, etcetera.
2. Another is how to include the message written on a textarea of a form with the ASP code supplied below: Code:
how to write to check verification valid email thru nslookup or mx record or dns record. Is it possible to do that. Is there any tutorial from sitepoint, previously found it but i lost the link.
example to check assume test@domain.com is not a real email, abc@domain.com is real email
how do u check it.
I want to know what's the differences between
Request.Form("Field Name") and
Request.QueryString("Field Name")
OR they function exactly the same, which is to return the value of the
field??
i used the following script but it won't send the email. any suggestions why?
<%
Dim TBdy
Dim MyCDO
CR = Chr(13)
Set MyCDO = Server.CreateObject("CDONTS.NewMail")
MyCDO.From = "person@something.org"
MyCDO.To = "allstar@aol.com"
MyCDO.Subject = "collegebound info"
TBdy = Request.Form("cb_name")
MyCDO.Body = TBdy
MyCDO.Importance = 1 (Normal)
MyCDO.Send
Set MyCDO = nothing
%>
Just starting to play with scripts, and need a little guidance. I want to check to make sure that the email addresses users enter in a form are identical before it will allow them to submit. here's what i have:
the variable for the second email address is EmailFrom2
'validation
Dim validationOK
validationOK=true
If (Trim(EmailFrom)="") Then validationOK=false
If (validationOK=false) Then Response.Redirect("emailerror.htm?" & EmailFrom)
If (Trim(Name)="") Then validationOK=false
If (validationOK=false) Then Response.Redirect("nameerror.htm?")
If (Trim(CityState)="") Then validationOK=false
If (validationOK=false) Then Response.Redirect("citystateerror.htm?")
If (Trim(SchoolName)="") Then validationOK=false
If (validationOK=false) Then Response.Redirect("schoolnameerror.htm?")
here is the script i use:
Set myMail=server.CreateObject("CDO.Message")
myMail.Subject="subject"
myMail.From="me"
myMail.To=request.form("email")
myMail.TextBody="hello"
myMail.Send
set myMail=nothing
this script sends emails to some addresses but not others--and its based on the email service it's sending to. for instance, hotmail email addresses get the email, but mail.com email addresses dont get the email. i have tried sending it to other email hosts, too, and still, some work, some don't. what is going on here?
I am using CDONTS component to send email in ASP.
The code is some thing like this:
Dim Mail
Set Mail = Server.CreateObject("CDONTS.Newmail")
mail.From = "abc@hotmail.com"
mail.to = "xyz@hotmail.com"
mail.subject = "Test Email Subject"
mail.body = "This is Email body message"
mail.send
Now the question is that this code will use the Default Virtual SMTP Server in IIS, but I want to use my ISP's SMTP server. please tell me how to do this. I have used my ISP's email server in Outlook express and it is working fine. Please do not suggest to use "CDO" or "CDOSYS" to use for sending emails because I must have to use "CDONTS".

Set objWinHttp = Server.CreateObject("WinHttp.WinHttpRequest.5.1")
objWinHttp.Open "GET",URL
objWinHttp.Send ' Send it.
strResponse3 = objWinHttp.ResponseText ' Get the response string from the object.
But it is not schedule..I can call it only when I rum the asp script. So is there any way I can schedule this url call for every 15/30 minutes.
Also forgot to mention : the site does not have that much traffic that I can add it in index page...there may be a user visiting the site in 5 hours time or within next 5 mins or for next 2 days there may be no visitor.

Can we execute an Access Request with ASP? If Yes how can we do that?
View Replies View RelatedI created a ASP which has a form as well. The form has a list box.On the click of the submit button I wanted to just display the contents selected from the list box.
When in the VB script part I say dataString = Request("Data_List"), (where Data_List is the list box id) it gives me an error message saying "Object Required. Request"
I tried it with the text box also. It gave me the same message.

And the web server is IIS 6.0 with windows 2003.
View Replies View RelatedTrying to test if Querystring is empty. then display content based on that. Currently trying: Code:
<% if Request.QueryString("variable")="" then
response.write ("hello") End If %>
Basically I'm looking for a way to display certain content only on the main page when no variable has been set.
