I know there is AddEmbeddedImage but does this only work only for images on your hard drive - can it be used for images that are web based? If not is there a way to embed an image in an email on the fly before sending - all web based?

I have no problem generating the wrd documents, but none of the images within the document are actually appearing the word file that you download. Does anyone have any insight, tips, pointers into how to go about embedding images in dynamically created word documents?
For reference - I'm using the response.contenttype ms/word to create the document on the fly.
Usually, when I send HTML emails, I just SRC the image to my web server, but now I would like to consider embedding images for those instances when potential customers may view the email when offline.
Can this be done with CDO or is another component required?
I currently have a web-based email for my site for users. Is there any way that I can make this so that it can be accesable from Outlook Express? It would have to call the database for the emails.I would need it written in ASP.It also needs to be free!
My ISP provides a web based email client, but it is not brandable and the features are not that extensive. I'd like to build my own. Has anyone done this, or is anyone aware of any tools out there to do this?

1. Is it ok for me to use IP address to allow user to bypass all login and
registration systems if IP is present in database? I wish to save the user

2. I am consideirng using Session variable on each page I wanted I
protected...I think I know how to do this but I am not sure on whether I
should be using the global.asa to handle loggin in or logging out or whether
I should so all the code on the secure page itself.
3. I wish to use a sql server backend to house my tables: tblProspect,
tblProspectPageSelections......is it okay to use the following branching
code to switch between my test and production server with regards the
physical database path as I have multiple sites on our remote server which
need to feed off the same database....I am thinking about something like

My app lists jobs for a recruiter. He wants to track members who have
replied directly to job postings. So instead of simply making the client's
email address an <a href="mailto:...> link, I need to do 2 things:
- add a record of their posting to a database table
- open the email client to the job
Howe do I do this? The first part is easy, but I don't know how to open the
email client in an ASP command (I don't really want to auto-sed email, just
open the client and let the user attach their resume and add their cover
latter). Do I have to get my Web Hosting company to install CDO, or is that

I understand the use of the .HTMLBody property, as well as the
..CreateMHTMLBody method. So I know I can create an ASP or HTML page, and
pass it to the .CreateMHTMLBody method, to get the images truly embedded, so
the email source contains the cid:blahblahblah references to the images,
which is key to getting the email to display properly in web-based mail
clients.
My question is... how do I achieve the same thing (embed the images) that
the .CreateMHTMLBody method does automatically, manually, so I can also
inject values passed from a form postback into the email?
It seems that I shouldn't use the .CreateMHTMLBody method. It seems that I
need to manually accomplish what it accomplishes automatically, so I have
more granular control. But I have found no thorough online resources that
explain exactly how. I have thoroughly looked at all of the SDK information
pertaining to CDOSYS, and I am still in dire need of an example for
VBScript...
It seems that the .AddRelatedBodyPart method is part of the answer, but when
I use it to embed the images and fill .HTMLBody, rather than using the
..CreateMHTMLBody method, I do not see cid:blahblahblah in the email source,
and the images do not display properly in web-based mail clients such as

i want to have link on clicking to which I want an excel workbook to be

I also want that when i open the predefined excel template i dont get

Ive read a few posts on this topic on the web but nothing specific. Is there a way to embed excel onto an HTML document using asp?
This is my issue:
At our company we have one user that has to access a spreadsheet, and an employee at another company has to access that same spreadsheet. They will never access it at the same time. but when one user accesses the sheet then saves it.
The easiest way I figured to do this - is store the excel document in an SQL database, and embed excel into a webpage so that both users have access to. so they can update the sheet, and save it.
Is it possible to embed an image, like a company logo in a CDOSYS generated

(VBScript) on my company intranet which works fine by storing and
displaying scanned images as .tif files.
What I wish to do now to further enhance the application is to display/
embed the DB record ID as text into the image itself.
I am aware of a a way of doing this to jpeg images using ASP.NET but
this does not work with tif files and classic ASP.
Does anyone know of a component which can achieve this or of a way I
can achieve the results with classic ASP.

1) is it possible to convert a "cgi" code into asp page.
2) are there any tools to do this conversion,
is it possible to embed the cgi code inside , for example html, or jsp or asp.
I have a code in asp which counts the number of visitors visited the site, how do I call this file to the html page? Is it by using <!include ...> or is there any other way of doing it. I tried using the include method it is not working and also I tried using <script language="JavaScript" src="hitcounter.asp"></script>, that also does'nt work. When they open the index page it should automatically display the visitor's number. Can you please help me with this?

i found a flash based mp3 player for my myspace that pulls the playlist from an xml file. my question is this... i want to be able to change the playlist (add, delete songs, change play order, etc...) without having to change the xml. here's my idea and i'm not sure how exactly to do all of it, but let me know if there is an easier way.if i create a db that stores the information i need (filename, song title, and track number) i can create an html form that will allow me to change the track number (i know how to delete and add songs). my question is how to i update the xml file at the same time it updates the db. in other words, how to i send the data in the db to an xml file.
