Error "Cannot Open Database Requested In Login..."
The SQLServer and Web server are different computers. The error I got when logging on as ONLINE/ONLINE is "Cannot open database requested in login '<mydbname>'. Login fails.

I have an email containing link say (somelink.asp) A user clicks on this link (say from outlook). because this user is not logged into the site, the request goes to somelink/login.asp.
The user then logs in. After successful login I would like to take this user to the link he clicked on originally. Is this possible without having to pass the lionk url as part of the query string?

I recently installed project server onto a new server (the server is
an all in one box that hosts the database (MSDE) and Sharepoint as well as
project server). When I attempt to load the project server web access
screen I get the error "The requested resource is in use." I've tried
researching this issue, but haven't been able to find any usable

I have an ASP page with a form that then I submit to a second page, i have been trying it locally on my test server, (IIS from Windows XP SP1), and it works perfectly. The data is sent correctly, and I can manage it on my second page. For transming the data I use the post method in my form.
Then I uploaded these two pages to the production server (Windows 2003 Server), where I have a lot of files that works identacally. When I call the first page, it loads correctly, I am able to fulfill the form, but when I click the send button, the server send me the "Error 500, Internal Server Error", with no more information.
I have cheked for speling mistakes in the name of the files and in the action section from the form tag in the first page, but everything is ok, my asp code is also ok but I have no clue or idea why this fails. Code:

Basically everytime I need a page to access a database I will create a connection object, and then at the end of the page I will close the connection object.
Would it be more sensible to create all the connections to the database that a user will need when they first visit the site, and then close these connections once they leave the site. (Using something to do with Start Session and End Session).

I am trying to connect to a database and verify a users login and password,
then based on that login information display 3 pages based on their login.
On the home page if they are NOT logged in, I need it to display the login
box, if they ARE logged in I want it to display Welcome Customer Name from a

First my database consists of a couple tables.MyUsers (records - username, password, tablename)User1 (records - record 1, record2, record3)User2 (records - record 1, record2, record3)
What I have a username and password login. When they login I need asp to look up in a database (table - myusers) and if the username and password match one of the records then take the third record (which is actually a reference to that user own table) and store it in a variable.
I then need to read that users table and display all the info in that table on a new page for only that user to view.

I am trying to build a secure web login that allows me to identify the person logging in by a "Welcome user" message that comes up when they reach the destination page.

Unless you declared those session variables earlier, they have no data in them. Assuming this information is coming from a form, try using request.form("fieldname") instead of the session variables.
If this doesn't address your problem, give more detail about what "isn't working"

I have created 2 tables on my db. one is for customers and one for corporate. this is to distinguish the records so that we wont mix up our clients. i have created a login page for both customer and corporate. however, i think there is something wrong with the login process code which process the login for users to our page. there is an error message:Error Type:
