Get Database Values And Change Them To A Letter
I have a dynamic table asp/vb that is returning records as expected. There are 7 fields that are returning boolean values based on whether there is or is not a meeting on those given days.
My table is returning TRUE and FALSE and all I want to do is create an if or select statement that will detect the values in these fields and change them as follows:
If true, then field = "R" (Wingdings2 R is a checked box)
If false, then field = "T"(Wingdings2 returns a x'd out box)

I have 2 drop down menus with data populated dynamically from a database.
Category
Subcategory
If i select an appropriate category the subcategory should change instantly to show the subcategories relating to the selected category. But i can't use a form submit, because before the forms are other textboxes with other values that i don't want to wipe on a page refresh.
I need to somehow preload the categories and their related subcategories. I've been trawling through examples, most are harcoded combobox values which won't work for me.

I have a simple table "Line" with Columns Key, OrderNumb, Panels, Gates, Posts, Color, Memo, Comp. A user enters the information into the powder.asp page. It is then added to the database. The Comp Column is populated NO by a hidden input type. The data is then displayed on a page in a table and the last column has a submit button.
When the user Presses that button I would like it to update that record in the database to change Comp to YES. Some code snipits are below. The first is where the data is presented and where the submit button is. It then will go to the next snippet that hypotheticly will change just the Comp on that record to YES. I am not sure if I am not executing the SQL correctly or something but it will not change that order number row comp to 'yes'. Code:

I have virtual directory where I run test.asp page with only this code inside:
<%Response.Write now()%>
As a result, if I go into the IE and browse for the test.asp page, I get :
1/22/2004 14:18:04
If I copy this page on some other(existing) virtual directory, I get as a
result 22.1.2004 14:19:06
If I create a new virtual directory and I copy the page there, I get :
1/22/2004 14:18:04
Seems like that IIS takes english date format even if my regional setting is
:
d.M.yyyy and I would like that date on the page is always like this:
22.1.2004 14:19:06
Where I can change this setting?

I'm a newb - so if this is a stupid question, my apologies.
I have a simple form that users fill out and then that info is written to a database. What I'd like to do is perform a calcution on a number and then write those numbers to other records in the database.
So for instance, if someone enters 12 in one field1, it would multiply that by 3 and that would be saved as field2, then mulitply it by 45 and that would be field3, then add field2 and field3 and save that as field4.
I was thiking of passing the form variables to a second page instead of writing them to the database, then using variables in the second page to perform the calculations and then have the second page write all the info to the database, but I thought there had to be a better solution.

We have a fairly large datbase containing thousands of part numbers, product names and pricing. We used to update new pricing changes individually by hand. However, now that our database has grown substantially, I'm wondering what the best method would be to keep the pricing current on our database?
We can obtain new price lists in excel format, however, the part numbers the mfgs use may not necessarily coincide with the part numbers we have. Should I just write some SQL script? Look into using XML? What would be the most efficient way to tackle this problem?

I made a 2 web surveys with identical code. Although the code is similar in both, values on the last page of one of the survey do not go in the database.
I have tried playing around (coz I really dont understand what the problem is), but nothing works. The same code works on the other survey with absolutely no problems.All thats there in my survey to insert values is

I have a registration form that I'm making and I need to get the count of available spots for each class session. I can't get the array to return something like "0,0,0,0,0,0". Is there a way to do this? There are 6 total classes and they are named 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6.
When you start out, each count will be 0 (meaning no one signed up yet) which makes the openSpots variable equal to 35 (maximum # allowed). Code:

We use an ASP application in which we send out emails using cdo for various
events.
At present the email text is hard coded into the code. for example

This causes an administration overhead as everytime the text of the message
needs to be changed we need to alter the code to incorporate text or

1. The file is on a map drive, which is mapped to a folder
on the same server. Example. The user's folder 'John'.

im building an ecommerce site. I asked the client to populate the database i built with all 3000 of their products. They have done this, but put all the data in in CAPITALS. Ive tried 'capitalising' (first letter of each word is a capital) the words in css, but that doesnt work because the letters are all in caps (it would work if they were in lower case).
Has anyone a function written in asp (jscript) to achieve this? Or should I try doing this in sql if this is possible?

We have an ASP VBScript email autoreply. I'd like to make it extra squeaky-clean and have it auto-capitalize the user's first name if they did not. I.e.
"Dear bob, your order has been placed."
to
"Dear Bob, your order has been placed."
I realize that probably the pro way would be to normalize it in the DB when they first sign up.. but this is not necessary, I just need some kinda left-trim-uppercase-codeamabob.
