Giving The User Option To Expand Sections
I would like to set up the following:
The web user does a search of a database and the results are returned in an
HTML table. I want to present the user with a table that just shows the
salient facts (brief item description, stock value, etc).
However, I'd like to give the user the opportunity to expand (and if they
wish to contract again) any one row of the table to display things like a
picture and an extended description of the row item, rather than have them
go to a separate page for this.
I'd also like to give them the option to expand all rows in the table (and
contract them again) if they wished.
What's the best way to achieve this? I'm not sure of the target audience,
so may have to support browsers using HTML4 (may even be Netscape...)

I have a list of broad categories. For example:
Pacific
Central
Eastern
Each of them are preceded by an option button. After the text, there is a plus sign. (this means that I can click on the + sign and then drill down further). For instance:
Pacific
California
Nevada
Oregon
Central
Eastern
Similarly, if I want I can drill down California, if I want to.
Now my question is:
How can I drill down each of them without refreshing the page ? Every time I click on the + sign, the whole page refreshes and then I have to scroll down to see the break down list of the hierarchial tree.
Please suggest ways of doing this dynamically. How can I expand my hierarchial list without having to lose the focus on my hierarchial option tree?

I have made a Dll in VB. I am trying to make a word document by using a word template and then inserting data into the word file from my MS Access (Office XP) database. It works fine when I use the reference of this Dll in a form added in VB.
But gives me errors when I compile it and use it, by creating its object in ASP. It gives error 5981 : Could not open macro storage.I tried searching on microsoft website but could not implement the solution.I get a feeling that if a word reference is used in a dll and compiled and then used in ASP it gives no output. I am confused and frustrated as I have got the dll ready but can't use it in ASP pages.

I was wondering if someone could help me out. I have a form and what I want is to have only certain parts of the form be emailed out to certain people.
So say I have 2 sections of my form. I want section 1 to be emailed to person1@host.com and I want section 2 to be emailed to person2@host.com.
I already have a very crude code to send out an email for the entire form to 1 person. Can anyone help me with this?

I am trying to change a current emailer script.
The current version will run a FOR loop for each form element and will give them a label (by a variable). This label is then attached to each form element's value on the email.
However the email is pretty untidy so I would like to change the code so that groups of labels appear as groups on the email.

I have been using the following code to access a remote url, which works fine, but if the remote "geturl" does a redirect (as the page in this code does), I have know idea what the redirected url is. Page still displays, (including the html source code), but I cannot determine what the base href is (that is, I don't know the url of the page being displayed, since is is a redirected page).

I have the following code setup Code:

What ends up happening, if the receiving server "192.168.1.197" is down, the script will error out, but what i need to do is if the site is unreachable have it continue without erroring out.

my site (which I am currently redeveloping) has 3 different sections to the site. All which well contain different information.
What I want to know is how can I make the starting page of the site display information which the users is looking for.
eg. if the user always go to one section of the site the main page well show information relevant to that section. (I hope you know what I mean)
So I was thinking about how to do this and this is what I came up with.
Set a cookie for the site and each section has there own number value (eg. 1 to 10)
When the user hits the main page it gets the values of all 3 sections from the cookies and checks which has the most value (eg 3, 5, 10).
Based upon the highest value each section has there own .asp include which is shown to the user.

I'm having a problem whenever i enter 2 response.redirects() in one funcion.. it's weird. What i'm trying to do is to display a simple error message underneath a login. I have written an ASP.NET 2.0 application that uses Active Directory or ADAM
to manage account users - the site has a page that allows people to create an
account (much like any site). The page populates the AD with all the
information and the user account but I am unable to enable the account.

portion of the script. Can some one point me in the right direction - or can
you tell me how I can add a snippet of VBscript code to an ASP.NET page.
I am using the Active DS Type library - not sure why there are multiple ones
(System.DirectoryServices) but it is rather confusing - I seem to accomplish
one thing with one and another with the other (they did have trouble
co-existing however). Anyway my script works very well but I am not able to
access the properties required to enable the account.

I have a dropdown list on my page. It is populated with values from database ;some values are unsually long that the DDL extends to the right of the screen where i need to scroll to find the arrow.
if i dont i wudn be able to read the values fully[i.e only half the length can be read]. Hence i wud like to provide a toottip for each <option> in the DDL whch will help me read the values onmouseover event. Hope I am clear abt it.Thus me scrolling to the right can be avioded.
