View RepliesI have several checkboxes named in the following format:
chktable_city~20
chktable_state~WI
chktable_zipcode~12312
I need to be able to pull the table names and values from each checkbox name (for example, I would need to pull the "table_city" and "20" from the checkbox above).
In short, how do I pull out the table_city and 20 from the first example. Since the table names and values vary in size, I can't just do a regular mid, left, right function.
I have one ASP page that has two separate FORMS, each that will update a separate SQL table. These tables are in the same DB with the same connection string for both.
The SQL statement seems to be writing correctly (when I test them) but neither of the tables updates when I try to update both of them. IF I try to update just ONE of the tables it does work correctly. Code:
i have a page that i need to load in an iframe that is on a diff domain (sub domain), i need to get the doc height of the page so that i can adjust the iframes height (so there will be no scroll bars).the problem with that is even though its on the same sever, because it is on a subdomain the browser sees it as different and restricts access to it (makes sense).
so, what we can do is have php read in the page with curl and parse it out in the iframe. that looks like <iframe src="reader.php?page=subdomain.pagename.html">but, we cannot use php on this server so i was wondering if there is an asp solution that can do the same thing (vb script). basically, i just need that asp page to grab the page on the sub domain, read it in and then output it.
I am working on automating a workflow process for my company. Part of the process requires the user to send a snapshot of their benefits from a secure web site to their manager. I am trying to extract the web page using Microsoft.XMLHTTP but am having problems due to user validation which is required to access the benefits web page. There are 2 layers.
First, user is required to login with user name and password, then user is redirected to another page that asks for PIN. Only if both authentications pass, the user is considered validated and is redirected to the benefits page. I am not able to through any of the validation pages. What can I do?
I have a Function in VB Script that generates a signature. I assign the result to a variable and then need to do a hidden post to an ASP Page for further processing.
Basic functionality is I have a button upon pressing it -- It does the hidden post.
Code looks like this. Please assist with passing this stringToSign variable to the .asp page via hidden post. Code:
if i have a vbscript function on a certain form and I assigned some values on an array variable on that function, is there a way for me to retrieve the values of that array on another asp page once i submitted the form?

I understand that all asp classic vars are variants and to always make sure that you are working with the type that you want it is best to use these built-in Cxx() functions, but I'm confused about whether I should use CSng or CDbl for my calcs.
I don't think they will ever be more than say 6 decimal places (at the very most usually 2 or 3) and the value the other way won't be in the millions (chance would be a fine thing!!) so should I be using CSng or CDbl? Is there any kind of performance degradation in using one over the other? Is there any kind of accuracy degradation in using one over the other?
Is it possible to have, first n number of charectors in a text area in one
colour and the remaining in a different colour? If so how can it be done?
I need to execute different asp programs based on different values of a parameter. For example, if the user inputs ID of 1, program1 needs to be executed automatically, if user inputs ID=2, program2 needs to be executed in the background automatically. How do we do this in asp?

I have a form that you enter in a file path i.e c:folder1
you then click search and the application will search for that folder and check if it exists if so it will return a list of files in that folder. you are alowed to select what files you want to copie and then enter in the folder you want to copie them to.
here is my issues: i enter in my folder to search on and it is good I get a list of files in that folder I am also given the the folder path at the top of my table. in the code I have also created a hidden field so that when I click on my copy button my from folder path is sent over to that I can us it in my objFile.CopyFile.
NOW Here is where I go *WTF* at the top of my page I am printing out my folder path vartiable and it is right. however once i press that copy button the folder name gets cut off at the space i.e E:flkfkdlsdkklfile2 inforil....
so how do I fix this here is my code I have tryed to highlight the partst pertaing to this issue. Code:
I need to loop through all submitted form fields and place them all into 1 variable but i have no idea how. Here's what I have so far:
for each item in request.form
myVariable = "formfieldname:" & item & "formfieldvalue:" & request(item)
next
response.write(myVariable)
The problem with that is that response.write(myVariable) only prints the last field in the form.
I know that if I move the response.write(myVariable) INSIDE of the loop it will print correctly but I am not trying to print the form fields BUT I AM TRYING to store them in ONE variable.
For example:
myVariable = formfield1name:formfield1value:formfield2name:formfield2value:formfield3name:f ormfield3value:ETC ETC
I know you can call a Form Variable in a VBscript using
Request.Form("FieldName") and make equal a local variable like:
str = Request.Form("FieldName")
Now if do this:
str = "This is the new value"
How do you make FieldName equal str. So In a sense I want this to happen
FieldName = str
I need this so that when FieldName gets posted to the DB the new value get
sent.
I am posting a form variable to an ASP script, but when the asp script receives the variable, I don't want it to open a new web page or open in the same window. I also can't have the script on the same page and refresh the page.
I use javascript to submit the form with the hidden field, and I want the variable to be processed by the asp script in the background on the server and return nothing. So essentially, i want the script to run transparently. How can I do this with asp? We run a classic environment.
I am doing this because the script is a tracking script, and it's disruptive for the user to see any trace of it. I want them to continue surfing as normal.
I am trying to retrieve data from a dropdown listbox in asp using:
<%Response.Write + Request.Form("cboBox")%>
The problem is that I only retrieve the first value of the option. For
example, if my first option was <option value=this that>, I only can
retrieve "this". It won't get the second word.
Is it possible with classic ASP to have a list of image files in a database, automatically transfer them onto our server from another server and resize their dimensions? We have many images of products that we have to screen grab at the moment from our suppliers' websites and it would be useful to automate this.I think there are tools for ASP.NET to do this but can't find anything to do it with ASP.
View Replies View Relatedhow or has the resource for graabing a users email address without them knowing? Before I hear all the 'Its not ethical' blurb - I know and my use is legitimate. I am build an e-commerce store and as well as grabbing the users IP at point of sale, i think it would be invaluable to grab a users email address (on top of their registration supplied address - but not always) so that in cases of attempted fraud there is an additional avenue by which we can investigate. The intention is by no means for spam (which I loathe) Anyone know how to do this?
View Replies View RelatedI am testing NT Authentication and have found that the following works
Response.Write Request.ServerVariables("LOGON_USER")
Response.Write Request.ServerVariables("AUTH_USER")
However this gets me "my_domainusername" on both cases. How do you get the users full name and not just the username.
Intranet application.
strLogon= Replace(Request.ServerVariables("LOGON_USER"),"DOMAIN","")
The above line is used by several pages on my browser-based app to obtain the Windows login name for the user. Of course, I replaced our domain name with the generic word "DOMAIN" here, but the point is that I am trying to get that name and store it into a variable.
It works fine in Production, but not on my dev box, which is on the network and is very similar to the Production server (Same OS, for example).
On my dev box, it doesn't return anything, but in Production, it will return jsmith, mjones,etc.
Can You Put A Variable In A Request.Form Object I'm looking to do something like this:
variable = Request.Form(RS("ID"))
how do I pass a table name in an ASP select stt. as a form variable.
e.g from server side script
Select * from (response.form(group))
This is ASP and JScript.
I request a form variable:
var sReviewID = formatUndefined(Request.Form("ReviewID"), "");

I need to retreive a URL variable on a .asp page using either ASP or JS and

basically i want to send a web page off by email. so i was thinking of putting some asp scrip at the end of the page to do this...
<html>.....</html>
<%
dim a

but how do i get page content? Is there some variable I can read that has it stored? is there some way I can all the stuff that has gone out to browser?
In my prototype asp page (with no javascript and no password validation, I have a registration form with the following action:
<form name="form" method="post" action="RegDetails.asp">
This works fine, the form details are collected by RegDetails.asp
I am attempting to include javascript server side validation for the pasword, which obviously requires password and password2 fields (to be verified). I have used the script available at:
http://javascript.internet.com/forms/val-pass.html
It works fine in a new blank page with the form action:
<form name=myForm onSubmit="return validatePwd()">
The final stage in this javascript demo form displays an alert box:
else {
alert('Nice job.');
return true;
When I change the first line of my original form to:
<form name=myForm onSubmit="return validatePwd()">
how do I get my original action of - action="RegDetails.asp" instead of this alert box?
I have it inserting a table into an iframe. However I want to pull that table information back out to make changes to it. I am just stumped on how I should go about it. I have the inserting of the table executing through a showmodedialog box. Do I do the same to pull out but how?
