I want to store HTML content of a URL into a string using ASP is there any provision for that ? for example i have a URL like www.mywebsite.com/default.asp and i want all HTML content of this page into String variable in my ASP page .
Using ASP I'd like to modify a string that contains HTML. I need to modify the content (the bit that the users see) but not the stuff in the tags. For example, if I had the following string Code:
what I want to make actually is to take the results of a search engine that I use, which are in form of HTML or ASP and transport that results in a DataBase. For example, I wont to place as registrations in the DataBase the equivalents URLs and their descriptions from the results of search. I use MS Access, code asp, HTML , Javascript .
QUESTION! How can I insert the content from an HTML or ASP page into a dataBase? How can I determine from what point to what point a string it will be entered in the first cell of table and afterwards in the next and next ....
I would like to change it so that it displays only the first 40 (or so) characters from the record being pulled from the MySQL DB producing a result more like this:
Is there a way to change the SELECT call to MySQL so that it retrieves only the first 'x' characters found in the record? Code:
I need to create a module where a technical novice can send an email newsletter (that has already been created and uploaded on a server) to a list of subscribers.
I know this can be done using CDO.Message and CreateMHTMLBody
My question is how can I add a few lines of new content like say a header and footer and may be some personalization (like a direct unsubscribe link for each subscriber.) to an already existing html file before emailing it out.
I need to return only string value from a html string For eg. <html>aaaa</html>
Currently, i use replace function to replace the html tags to obtain the string aaaa. But it is tedious as i will need to code all the possible html tag.
In a HTML form field, the user enters a long text. I need to search for an image tag. Then get the name of the image (*.gif or *.jpeg) to check the image library if the image already exists. If exists, cannot upload the image. Else, upload the image.
The following pattern is used to strip HTML tags from a string. I need to remove the tags only if they contain a colon. Is it possible? How can I modify this regexp pattern to match only if a colon exists between the "<" and ">" ? Code:
I'm incharge of updating the stats on a chl hockey teams Web Site. I would like to know if there is a way to be able to save the content of the CHL Statistics WebPage on our Server and using it to update our Microsoft Access 2000 database.
If it possible, then I would take the content of that page. Execute some code that will take this information an place it in our database on our server. By doing this, our Team WebSite would be update automaticaly at a time that I specify on our server.
At this time, I have to open the CHL Statistics WebPage. Then Save the HTML page as a txt file, upload it on our server via FTP, then execute my my code that places it in our database.
I want to search a string of HTML and insert a querystring into any url where the url is an asp page and is either a local link /folder/page.asp or of a specific domain http://www.somedomain.com/folder/page.asp. It needs to be able to handle plain links and those with querystrings already in there.
I could do it with instr functions etc but I thought this might a good time to brush up on regular expressions. Can anyone point me in the right dirction?
I have built dynamic HTMLTable. Now I want to attach it directly to the Email Body - it is already built, so why not to use a ready table. However, I cannot find the way of getting plain HTML text out of dynamically built control. I tried to put my table between div and read div.innerHTML then - HTTP exception has been thrown.
However I cannot seem to code this into the html string in the correct syntax, to where id=1 or id=2, etc. Does anyone know the anwser to this problem?The basic code I am using can be found below.
html = html & "<a href=""http://www.synergeticsusa.net/admin/shop_cart/detail.asp?id="">" html = html & Session("MM_UserID") html = html & "<IMG SRC=""myImage2.gif""></A><BR><BR>" html = html & "</br>"
I have a string of HTML (used for a specific purpose) that I'd like to use somewhere else but as plain text. Rather than introduce a specifically created plain text version I'd like to strip the tags code from the HTML version. This in itself is easy, using a function such as:
Function HTMLDecode(Expression) Dim sTemp sTemp = Expression sTemp = Replace(sTemp, ">", ">", , , 1) sTemp = Replace(sTemp, "<", "<", , , 1) 'Repeat for each defined entity HTMLDecode = sTemp End Function
However, the difficulty comes when trying keep each paragraph seperate. For example, the string "this is<p>my name" shows on screen as:
this is
my name
if I use the above function, it strips out the <p> tag and shows the result on one line:
this is my name
I thought I could use something like:
str = replace(str, "<p>", chr(10))
but that doesn't seem to work. Can anyone help me replace <br> and <p> tags with something that's recognised as "plain" text but will keep the paragraphs and new lines formatted correctly??
I have a table having 3 columns. There is a checkbox for each line. I need to get those lines whose checkboxes are checked, and show those lines to another webpage. Is there any way to do that? My concern is that all information in the table are in <tb></tb> pairs without any name tag. Any idea?
I'm developing an Asp.NET system to take a CSV file uploaded via the web, parse it, and insert the values into an SQL database. My sticking point comes when I try to split() the string returned by readline() on the file.
The following code snippet works for me: tokens = "one,two,three,four".Split(",") for each token in tokens response.write("<td>"+token+"</td>") next
However, if I take the next line in the CSV, read using StreamReader.ReadLine on the PostedFile.InputStream, I receive "Object reference not set to an instance of an object." which I have narrowed down to be my string holding the line. Further investigation reveals that no other string member functions work on my line (.ToCharArray, .ToString, etc).
I suspect that StreamReader.ReadLine is not correctly returning a string, even though Response.Write(line) displays what I would expect .....
I'm doing a content management system, whereby the user can enter the HTML code for a currency symbol, eg £ for £.y . when I bring this data backup, say they want to edit the settings, then my ASP/HTML page is rendering the HTML code, eg £, rather than showing the original value, eg £.
If for example I put a space between the '&' and the 'pound;', eg & pound; then this will cause me problems because the user will think that they have to a put a space in or they file it with the space, which means the HTML code won't work any more. Is there a way round this?
I have a form in which several elements are expected to be all digits. Some of those elements can be left empty, but if specified they must be all digits. I have this Sub to edit them: ....

I am having to make sites accessible where images are dynamically generated.
'Display the graphical hit count

What is "active content"? My ASP page just returns HTML....
I have a page with an .htm extension that has a form whose action is an ASP page which generates a report after updating a database with the form data.
Under Windowx XP SP2 the IE6 "Information Bar" has the message:
"To help protect your security, Internet Explorer has restricted this file from showing active content that could access your computer."
I would like to have a PRINT button on my page, that redirects to another page which is more printer friendly. I am pulling the content of a database (msAccess) into the initial page, and want that content to carry accross..
Here is an example of the page http://www.australie-voyages.com/en...-tours.asp?id=8
can someone help me. I'm writing an onlineshop in asp and for the shopping cart i use an array. If someone wants to delete some articles from the cart, i have to delete them from the array. How i delete only one article (on line) from the array.
i am building some web page with template engine and i run on one problem: i want to import a content of some file and then use it in asp script so the solutions are this:
1: Create file system object and use ReadAll to read the content but there is a problem because it dosent render the importet file i get just the asp code
2: Create XML object and load the file into the xml but here is another problem this proccess takes quite a lot of time so it will be very slow for the web site especially that i want to import more the one file...
3: Create file system object and user ReadAll to read the content and then use eval(reasponseString) to execute this code... but i dont belive to much in this solution i dont know why but it seems to me it's not right.....
If you needed to have a side bar, that had room for 2 or 3 graphical ads, and you had say 8 ads to pick from, and you wanted each page to just randomly load ads but never put the same 2 or3 ads on the same page...
I've been looking at content negotiation for serving up pages as xhtml/xml or text/html based on the user's browser and using PHP you use this: PHP Code:
function fix_code($buffer) { return (str_replace(" />", ">", $buffer)); }
ob_start("fix_code");
to remove all the / end of tags in your text/html code. Is there an ASP equivalent to this?
I'm writing a site scraper (bot, etc.) that needs to log into a site (i have the username and password), then redirect to a particular page and then pull that content into a variable so I can manipulate it. I'm using ASPHttp to try to pull this off. However, I CANNOT get by the login. According to ASPHttp this should be possible, but I cannot make it happen. I would not imagine this would be too hard to do. Perhaps ASPHttp is not the right tool.
After a user selects the 'answer' hyperlink, the answer will be pulled from the database and displayed. Then i would like another link once selected to remove the displayed answer from the screen. It is important that the answer is not permanently deleted from the database. I would like to do this for a series of questions.How can i do this?
I'm using the Server.Execute method to include a static page inside a dynamic database call. This static page is not a valid HTML page (i.e. lacking <body>,<head>, etc. elements), but I'm pulling it into the dynamic page just to give the content an upgrade in presentation, including images. The problem is that there is no way to have relative URLs in the content page, so all the image src's are wrong. Is there a better way to include static content like this, or a way to alter the contents on the static page prior to running Server.Execute (I could parse the file via the FileSystemObject, but I'm hoping not to do that)?
