I have an application which sends out emails in HTML format. I have a problem when I am trying to display images in the email (name of the image file is taken from database).
The problem is that if there is a space in the image file name, it displays a + (PLUS sign) and does not display the photo in GMAIL and other emails. The URL of the image gets displayed in the following manner:
I am trying to send an email from an asp page in html format unfortunately when parenthese appear in the HTML code of the page to be emailed the ASP page reads them and trys to interpret them as ASP code
I have created a very simple template, using old standards, as this is the best approach for emails. But I am finding that the email is always being sent into the spam folder, this is not only the case with my outlook account but also other third party email clients like hotmail etc....
I have searched and searched but cannot figure out how to work around this problem.
I've built an email application which uses the 'ASPEmail' component to send mail to a list of around 3000 subscribers.
It's not possible with the stats software I have to track individual graphics - which would have been a good way to track the number of people who looked at the email. So is there any other way to do this tracking? Will javascript work well in mail clients, or can I embed a hidden iframe etc?
I need to create a module where a technical novice can send an email newsletter (that has already been created and uploaded on a server) to a list of subscribers.
I know this can be done using CDO.Message and CreateMHTMLBody
My question is how can I add a few lines of new content like say a header and footer and may be some personalization (like a direct unsubscribe link for each subscriber.) to an already existing html file before emailing it out.
I created a web form in html, I need to create a server-side script using ASP and embed it into the html, so that when the user clicks submit, it sends(saves) the data from text boxes, drop-downs etc, to a text(.txt) file on the server. It needs to be in csv format so that they can create an excel file from it.
CDO is perhaps the most obscure art in web programming, but I hope someone would understand my issue. I have an ASP web application that needs to send email messages in HTML format only -- there is no plain text version. The messages are summaries of answers that people have input into an online survey, and need to have a tabular form.
The following somewhat plausible code does not work:
dim OMsg Set OMsg = Server.CreateObject("CDO.Message") OMsg.Fields("urn:schemas:mailheader:return-path") = BounceEmail OMsg.Fields("urn:schemas:mailheader:content-type") = "text/html" OMsg.Fields.Update
The return path header is set as desired, but the content type header stubbornly defaults to "text/plain". What is the secret to setting that header?
I have seen lots of code examples on the MSDN site for setting the content-type of body parts, but it seems needlessly complicated for my situation and doesn't work on my system anyhow (unknown ProgID error). So I was hoping to just set the message-level header to "text/html". (If I edit one of the messages from my script in notepad, changing the header to text/html by hand, it then is rendered correctly in email clients.)
I have purchased a form processing script, which basically saves the data into a database, emails certain people's email addresses with the form results, and also sends an email to the user that filled in the form with a thank you email.
However, all the emails are being sent in plain text format. I would like to change this to HTML so I can make the results look nicer and also make the thank you email look nicer.
I have emailed the script developers, but have yet had a response from them, so i thought id put a post on here!
I have found the part of the coding that sends the Thank You email out to the user once they have filled in the form:
'/// Send Autoresponse if replyto<>"" and (autoresponse<>"" or sendcopy<>"") then if sendcopy<>"" then autoresponse=autoresponse & vbcrlf & vbcrlf & message call sendmail(replyto,mailadmin,formname,autoresponse) end if end if .......
I have the tables set up in Access, viewing in column format on ASP pages but now the company wants the schedule reports to be in a wall-calendar type format. I've searched and found calendar scripts but I need one that's creates a table resizable to a report size format. Using the existing MS Access db I've written is also a plus.
I have a table having 3 columns. There is a checkbox for each line. I need to get those lines whose checkboxes are checked, and show those lines to another webpage. Is there any way to do that? My concern is that all information in the table are in <tb></tb> pairs without any name tag. Any idea?
What is the best option?Im writing a forum so i need a universal solution... This means i cant use something like ASPEmail as not all ASP servers have this. So what do i use? Someone suggested to me CDONTS but then said you have to set up the server or something.Do all web servers have this pre configured.
Is there any way we can send off an email from a web hosting server that does not support CDONTS and cannot register any components to their server. They have no SMTP server as well.
IS there any web site that supports any one of these for FREE or better yet is there any other way to send off an email without CDONTS and components? Is it possible to like redirect to another mail with just scripting?
I have a stored procedure which sends out an email to all the users listed in the database. for some reasons I am not getting all emails. could someone offere some assistance? Code:
I am working on a piece of software that needs to store email data in a SQL server table. Been flicking around and it looks like the ASP mail components are a good way to go. Basically I will be recieving mails from a pop3 server (prob outlook) and using the same program to put the data in a database.
I don't necessarily need code here, just some guidance to my thought process.
I have built a system for a hospital where users can sign up for classes that the hospital offers. Now, I want to be able to send the users a reminder email a day or so before the event/class. In the database, I have all the user's info in one table. Another table holds the registrations with keys to the user table and the key to the table that has a listing of the classes.
How do I now go about automatically looking through the class table to find out if there is a class in the next 24 hours, and then send an email to all the people registered for that class?
I need some advice on how to write an email script in asp. I am farely new to asp but so far i have manage to understand most of the materials i've covered for this language except for sending emails from a form.
I've read the following tutorial ->URL twice, but i can't get the script working.
What am i doing wrong?
I am working on my personal box at home, do i need to have a mail server running? do i need to have addtional asp component install?
I have emails being created and sent using CDO and it is working well but, the email is being sent twice. I only call the .send once (per person) but it comes through twice. Code:
anyone know a good way of tracking an email so that i know if theyve been opened? and preferably somethign where i can identify the recipient (matching with our crm)?
I have an exchange server, that I sometimes use to perform mail shots to clients on our database, these can be upwards of 1000 at a time. As we don't want different clients to see who we are working with we put these mailshots in the bcc field of the mails.
This can sometimes cause a problem as we are getting alot of mails bounced back. I would like to write a script to have these emails sent out individually using the to: field of the mail. I have googled for examples of doing this but haven't found anything useful yet
When sending long emails a mysterious space-character is added after a certain number of characters. Any idea why that happens? I am using a Dundas Mailer control (if that matters) called from an asp script.
I need to send a set of Emails from my application (reminders) each month 1st. Is there anyway in ASP scripts to trigger an event to run automatically? I have no dedicated server, so no DLLs or Scheduler scripts can be used. Also adding the trigger script in the application object may not send emails in time, as we have not enough visitors to that application. Is there any way other than 'Clicking a Send button'
