XML Or Array In Session
I am creating a shopping cart for a friend using a sql server database and would like to know if it is ok to use xml to store the users shopping cart in session as apposed to using a multi-dimentional array or should I just make a database call every time a product is adding and delete it from the database once it is processed? I would like to use the xml of the others but does anybody know which is the best method and why?

Session Cookie With Array
I need to set a session cookie with an array(100+) and ad values to the array every time the user choses to ad something (to the array while she/he is navigating the site) and write the content of the array on the page after each addition to the array! So, basically:
1- Set session cookie with array. 2- ad values to the array and write out the whole array after each addition automatically, otherwise just write "no choices" or smth. Can anyone show how to do this codes in ASP briefly?
Session Variable - Array Problem
I need to create an array with a session variable. According to thebook I'm using, the following should work, but if fails:

Session Variables Store Array Of Values?
I know that cookies can store an array of values, which can be accessed like this:
tempid = Request("cookiename")(i)
Is it possible to use session variables in the same way? Store a array of values in the same session variable and access them on another page by indexing?
I've looked around alot and I've not found anything suggesting that this is possible.
Right now I'm using a single set of cookies to store info on a series of purchaces of the same type of item. I'm hoping to use session variables to replace the cookies.
Does anyone know for certain if this is not possible?
Rebuilding Of An Array From An Existing Array
I dump the entire recordset into an array:
If not rs.EOF Then
aEmp = rs.GetRows()
Contents of the array are in this order:
EmpID,EmpName,Indent,Sub_ID,Lft,Rgt,MgrID, LastName
This query sort on the basis of Lft and Rgt columns.
The name of the array is: aEmp.
My question here is how can I get only the LastName from the aEmp array into another array so that I can sort the names alphabetically and then display the employees in the alphabetical order.
Or is there is another way I could this by using the same array while keeping the lft and rgt sort of the query? If I sort based at the SQL query level, I can see the names sorted by the lft, rgt and lastname, but since the lastname is at the end of the sort list - it does not appear alphabetically.
Array Integers Vs Array Variables
In working with arrays, I have found that I am unable to dimension and array
with a variable that has an integer value but I can redimension one this
way. I haven't see any information that tells me if this is a requirement,
although it appears to be because I get an error if I try it.
Ex.
Dim b
b = 10
Dim a(b) ' this errors out but
Dim a() ' this
Redim a(b) ' works

Create A New Array From An Array
I want to create a new array called arrNames2 and copy contents of arrNames to arrNames2.
I then want to loop through my db and add more names (while going through the loop) to arrNames2. What is the best way to do this? Do I have to keep redim the array wehn I add more names?

I have a column n_fog defined as text. In this i have numbers or blank value in it.

What i want to know is get the total of the numbers. So it should give me 2+2+3 = 7

And it doesn't return anything..
When I ask Isnull(total) the answer is "False".
So, if it has a value, why doesn't return it?

What I want to do is count records in a table. if that count result is an
even number do something, if it is an odd number, do something else. sortof
like this.
