How Can I Have My Page Email A Csv File Created From An Online Form?
My company needs an online form that user's can enter information into and once submitted, will dump the user-supplied info into a csv file and email it to the person who heads up the project. Initially, I thought they wanted the form to save the data to a database, and after playing all weekend, I was able to do that. Today I learned that they prefer the emailing a csv file method instead. Any links to tutorials on this subject or sample code with explanation would be greatly appreciated!
has anybody implemented the functionality for users to fax an online form instead of emailing? Do I need to go through a third party (software or company) to get it faxed or is there some code out there which can do the conversion?
I created a web page from Excel2000, using "Save as web page..."...Publish function. then, I moved htm file to my IIS web server. Then I added a form control, and submit button.
How can get the data on the excel file using ASP from server side? For example, the value of Cell(1,2), Cell(2,3)....
I have a web page which has a registration form. The user inputs data in the form and I would like to be able to send the entire form contents to an email address (In the HTML format).
What is the best and easiest method to do this? Do I have to capture each element of the form and string it to the body and then send it out in the page or is there any faster way to grab the entire contents of the form entirely and attach to the body?
I have been investigating how to create a multi page form in Frontpage that eventually will allow an emailed result. I can write the asp to "post" from one page to the next easily enough but when it comes to the last page, I can't figure out how to email the results. the syntax "response.write" will write to a web page but it won't fill in the content of am email. I thought of putting the "response.write" inside the body of a CDO.message but that leads to the next question...
While looking at threads about the subject I keep seeing that I should use CDO (or CDONTS) or a third party app like aspmail. All of which, from what I can gather, use IIS SMTP service to function. The problem I will have is that I have Exchange 5.5 on the same machine so the SMTP on IIS won't start since ex5.5 uses that port. I have ex2k on another machine that I will soon move the users over to so that will free up the IIS port but I would prefer using the new mail server for this when it is running. Is there a method for using the ex5.5/ex2k mail system for sending the asp generated email? or perhaps another technique? I would prefer to just write it but if I have to buy something I will.
I run a website that reads our own databases and makes the data available to our users. However, recently someone has sent me a link to a php page that contains data they want me to display on our site. The php creates a csv formatted text string.
Example : I type in www.somewebsite.php and the page returns game1,gamedate,gametime,hometeam,visitor,,,, with real values of course being in these values. the ,,, are null fields that have no value as they expect our website to fill in this data for them from our users. how do I read this data with asp into a recordset, or a database?
I'm using PerlScript in my ASP page and I have the following problem: Each time the page is refreshed a CSV file is created. I want this file to be available for download. The problem is I can't create the file in the "wwwrootsite" dir, so I can't link to it. I can however create anywhere else on the server.
I'm trying to get a file attached to an email from a form.
The form is a simple name, email, attach cv. When the user hits submit it gets sent to the company. I simply used the <input type="file"> for the user to browse.
i want to send an email from a web app with an attached file. the form is for users to enter email addresses to whom they want the attached file sent. I'm using ASP and CDONTS mail. Code:
When I use a host file entry to point to the host header of the site that I have created on a Win2k server running IIS5, a cookie is not created to hold the session id. The result is that Session_OnStart is run every time a page is requested.
If I set up a DNS entry on the DNS server it all works fine.
I never noticed this problem before we put in Active Directory so it may have something to do with that.
I have set "allow per session cookies" to promt(under Custom Secrity settings in IE) to see if this is being attempted and it is not. So the browser is not even trying to create the session cookie when using the host file.
I created a feedback form for my website that has only 2 required fields. When you submit the form it calls my asp page which puts the information in a database and then sends me n email with the information that was entered into the form. The problem is that the form only has two required fileds, and if the remaining non required fields are left empty when the asp page is called it does write to the data base, but does not send me any email. However if I go back in and put somethng in every field in the form then when I submit the form and my asp page is called it writes to the data base and sends me an email with the all the information I entered in the feedback form. Is there a way to tell my asp page that it is ok to send the email even if the non required fields are left empty? I really do not want to have to go back through the form and put default values in for each area of the form? Also is there a way to have an error displayed if the email is not sent? My asp code is below....
I've gotten a subroutine to almost work as I want it to, but it's refusing to show the newest file. It seems to choke on files created near midnight, just never showing them at all, and the date compare is showing an equal number for two different dates, though it surely shouldn't.
The code is running here: http://www.devedia.com/wiki/
The object is to show most recent file first, oldest file last. I have some leftover code in here to organize files by month created, but I removed the folders for debugging. The program moves any files created the previous month into a folder on the first of the month.
The folder name passed in is an X for recent files, a folder name (like 2005_04) when the files were sorted by folders.
What I'm hoping for from the intelligent people in the forum is either an eyeball on the subroutine to help me find where it's losing the midnight/most recent files, or a better idea on sorting by created date using the file system object and asp only. (NO recordset objects.)
And here is the subroutine. (sorry about the indenting... copy and paste it to read it better?)
I need to do online streaming multimedia file on my web portal, just like those online portal that selling MP3. User need to click on the preview link to stream the audio file to listen before they decide to buy the file or not. How do i link my audio file in my web server to allow it to be stream? Totally lost on this function,
Currently I have online survey, which uses ASP and Access database. Now, I wanted a email send to the sender after they hit submit, what should I do? I don't know where to start! My server is running on WIN2000AdvanceServer.
I need to design a form that does pre-retirement calculations and which I could post on my company website.I'm really not well versed at all with this language so my question is this:
1) Is this a type of calculator I can design myself? If not, what avenues do I have available? 2) If yes, what type of software/freeware is available?I only have MS Info Path on my PC, not really sure if this would be useful 3) What is the easiest way to develop such a form? asp alternatives? 4) The Form is not going to be pulling data from any back end source.Individuals will manually enter their own numbers, this data will not be saved anywhere, users will be able to get a rough idea of their retirement benefits.
I manage one of our company's intranet sites. We're using RoboInfo software. I basically just publish documentation for our users. I want to add online forms to my pages so they can be filled in and I can receive in my inbox. I am looking at the best solution. I did have a basic html form online using POST, but the user gets those annoying popup warnings (one from IE, one from Outlook).
I wanted to create a php form, but my IT department says they can't install php on the server. Now I'm looking at an ASP form, which should work on the server. I've found scripts here that seem simple enough to set up. Do I need to know the smpt and port # to get an ASP form working? Anyway I can determine the smpt without contacting IT (they probably wouldn't tell me!). Any other solutions I can look at in creating online forms?
I run a small finance company and would like to add an online application form that potential customers could fill in.
at present all they do is email me asking for a loan, but if i could create some sort of form where they enter their details in each box, then click submit i think this would look alot more professional. Does anyone know of any tutorials or anything that may be able to help me along my way?
I have a database generated form that I would like users to be able to update by selecting a checkbox. Say the page displayed has six records on it and the user wants to delete one or more of the records. They would click the checkbox and hit a "delete" button.
Then the database would be updated and the user redirected back to the page that would now show all the records that weren't deleted. Sort of like Yahoo mail, you get a list of all the bulk mail, select the ones that you want to delete, hit a delete button, and the page is updated to show what e-mail is left. How do I do this using ASP?
I am trying to bind/link 2 text fields on my online form.
So they both should show the exact same text entered in them.
When text is entered in one of them I want to see it in the other text box and vice versa and when text is deleted from one of the boxes it should also be deleted from the other one aswell.
I am having a problem formatting an email message which comes from a form.
I am currently having difficulty with the <br> tag which I am using for line spaces within my email. I am getting an expected statement error message which is pointing to the line which is underlined below. I can't think what is causing this.
Just starting to play with scripts, and need a little guidance. I want to check to make sure that the email addresses users enter in a form are identical before it will allow them to submit. here's what i have:
the variable for the second email address is EmailFrom2
'validation Dim validationOK validationOK=true If (Trim(EmailFrom)="") Then validationOK=false If (validationOK=false) Then Response.Redirect("emailerror.htm?" & EmailFrom) If (Trim(Name)="") Then validationOK=false If (validationOK=false) Then Response.Redirect("nameerror.htm?") If (Trim(CityState)="") Then validationOK=false If (validationOK=false) Then Response.Redirect("citystateerror.htm?") If (Trim(SchoolName)="") Then validationOK=false If (validationOK=false) Then Response.Redirect("schoolnameerror.htm?")
Set myMail=server.CreateObject("CDO.Message") myMail.Subject="subject" myMail.From="me" myMail.To=request.form("email") myMail.TextBody="hello" myMail.Send set myMail=nothing
this script sends emails to some addresses but not others--and its based on the email service it's sending to. for instance, hotmail email addresses get the email, but mail.com email addresses dont get the email. i have tried sending it to other email hosts, too, and still, some work, some don't. what is going on here?
Im having problems with my form, separately both forms work perfectly, but having problem sending the email once submitted, however the upload fuction is working fine. The message im getting is,
Request object error 'ASP 0207 : 80004005'
Cannot use Request.Form
/forminfo.asp, line 42
Cannot use Request.Form collection after calling BinaryRead.
Would anyone be able to give some guideance in ASP code as to how I would repeat a section of input fields in a form based upon the number of guests that are attending an event?
Basically, what needs to happen is if 3 guests are attending, I need the Name, address, city, state fields to repeat so they can be filled in with information.
Then all of the information from the whole form is submitted which returns an email to the administrator of the event.
This works fine, the form details are collected by RegDetails.asp
I am attempting to include javascript server side validation for the pasword, which obviously requires password and password2 fields (to be verified). I have used the script available at:
Does any one have working or sample scripts that will retrieve a form information and send that information to a specified email account? eg. a data request or a user comment form.
<%@LANGUAGE="VBSCRIPT" CODEPAGE="1252"%> <% Option Explicit Response.Expires = 0 'you need to set up a variable (declare variables) for each filed fron your form page ' what I like to do is use the exact same name and add str for string to the beginning of it.
Dim strFirstName Dim strLastName Dim strAddress1 Dim strAddress2 Dim strCity Dim strState Dim strZip Dim strEmail
' After you declare the variables you need to assign a value to each one. ' each variable will be assign the corresponding value being sent from the form 'If you need other form fields, declare them above and assign a value here, Just 'follow the same format......
I have a form when the end user hits submit it will go to email and database. What I am looking to do is if the user selects this particular checkbox it will go to both database and email. Otherwise it will just to the database. In the form below I am expecting the user to check the "sendback" checkbox if they want to send the email, if this checkbox is left blank it will simply add a new record in the database. See code below...
