I'm getting this error on my asp/access page. It's a sql error
triggered by Recordset1.open sql,conn,1,1. The sql is constructed from
user input on a search page.
ADODB.Recordset error '800a0bb9'
Arguments are of the wrong type, are out of acceptable range, or are
in conflict with one another.
The problem I'm having is getting a Response.Write(sql) to actually
display the sql code before the open statement.
Can someone please help me display my generated sql code?
The asp page I developed works fine on my development machine and local IIS. When I load the page from the production server console, using an older version of IE, the page executes twice. I modified my variables with javascript to verify that the request is being sent twice from the client. I further proved this by accessing the production page from my development machine, and it works fine. This has never happened to me before. How can I figure out why the page is being sent twice from and older IE, and are is there a nice work-around? My ugly work around is to just modify my variables(javascript) after I submit so the second submit does not do anything.
I have a problem with a win 2003 server Standard edition. Sometimes when I'm working in my web application the session hangs (but not the ASP-application). In the application log I find the following error:
The run-time environment has detected an inconsistency in its internal state. This indicates a potential instability in the process that could be caused by the custom components running in the COM+ application, the components they make use of, or other factors. Error in d:
I have installed the "Network DTC-Access" and started the "COM+ System Application process". After i did this it worked a lot better, unfortunately the problem still remains (however not in the same extent)
The ASP-application is built in VB and uses four different dll-files for things like uploading files etc.
When I run the application on a win 2000 server everything worked out perfect.
I tried to display an error detail on my webpage when I got an "HTTP 500 Internal Server Error" of my .asp page, but I was failed I did setup in IIS so it will display debug error on my asp page as well as setting up my browser internet option.
Can you help me how to set it up so I am able to see the error detail on my browser when I get "HTTP 500 Internal Server Error" ( Currently, I just got a blank page with "HTTP 500 Internal Server Error" in the web page title)I run IIS 5.0 and window professional xp browser.
when using a web application which includes taking an asp page then going to another asp page and coming back to first page ...some times connection to iis gets terminated and page canot be displayed error comes .. this error does'nt comes on a particular page .
im wanting to display a full recordset from an access database and sort it by the "map" field seen below which works but i get this error between my second last and last records when theyre displayed:
ADODB.Recordset error '800a0e78' Operation is not allowed when the object is closed.
I am using an ASP page to display the information in a database. The last field in the table does not display properly if there are words in the last field. So,when its blank this code works:
If x.name="Reviewer_Comments" Then Response.Write("Reviewer Comments: "&x.value&"<br>") End If
When there are words in the field it fails to display and on a check it said that x.value was null when there are supposed to be words in it.the field is set as a memo field to accept the text that will be entered. When I set it to a Text field which only accepts 255 characters it worked fine.
I've got an app I'm working on that sometimes will give me an error message and sometimes it won't. When it doesn't it just displays "Page cannot be displayed". Is there a code that will allow asp to display the error messages?
Here's the code I was using:
<% dim objComm set objComm = Server.createObject ("adodb.command") objComm.activeconnection = MM_dbConn_STRING objcomm.commandText = "dbo.aIssue" objComm.commandtype = "adCmdStoredProc" objComm.execute %>
I migrate ASP to Win2003, and the error page doesn't display the errors but a general error like "The page cannot display..." when error displays, and the error doesn't occur in Win2000. How can I know the error message?
i would just like to know if there is a way to check if the table exists in the database? If it does the search query would be carried out but if it does not exist the user would just be redirected to an error page.
How can I display my own message instead of the error message which may appear in the explorer? , and can I use ASP code in this message? Iam looking to display a custom page when somebody type a URL for a page in my site, and this page is no longer available
Many of my pages use URL and/or server variables to run recordsets to serve up dynamic content. If a user bookmarks that page and then comes back later, they would get a end of record or no record returned generic IIS error page. Can anyone tell me how to add a defaul error page?
I am doing a page where users will be able to key in the information in a form. However, whenever I tried to insert recordset & insert record, the page will be undisplayed and will be giving me this error: Code:
i've got a form to edit data or delete a record in sql server. if the delete fails on a constraint violation, nothing happens and of course the record is still there.
how can a check to see if this has occured and display a friendly message for the user so they know why the record will not delete. i've tried:
When I use IIS 6.0 to display static content everything works according to plans. Now I have created an asp page even though there is no dynamic content at the moment. The web page's name just ends in "asp" and has the Code:
<%@LANGUAGE="VBSCRIPT" CODEPAGE="1252"%>
at the first line of the code.
When I try to link to this asp-page I get an error code saying "Http 500 Internal Server Error". I then disabled the "friendly http errors" and got this information.
"Asp error Asp 0203" "Invalid code page" "The specified code page attribute is invalid"
I should also add that I have enabled/allowed asp as extension in IIS manager.
Anyone who knows what I can try to get IIS working with dynamic content too?

Let me start by saying I'm fairly new to Asp coding. That said...
My ISP only uses AspSmartMail. I've created an online form that uses fill out, which is then e-mailed to the collector of the information and CC-ed to the person who submitted the information.
The error I'm receiving is this: aspSmartMail.SendMail : Error 28 error '8004001a' 504 Invalid Username or Password
In my script, I've Dimensioned several items, as you'll see below, passing the authenticating username/password to the smtp server, but it's not working. I tried not passing the information by entering in the actual info without it being passed by the diminsioned items. This didn't work either. I of course verified that the username/password I'm usine is correct.
Can someone plase tell me why I can't authenicate? I would really appreciate any help that might be out there.
Relavant Asp code below: ----------------------------------------- Dim smtpserver, youremail, yourpassword, yourusername, rem oteemail
I have a database driven (ms access) website which runs fine on my computer (win 2000 iis6). However, on uploading, some pages am receiving the following error
"An Unknown script error occured while processing your request."
I am testing a new website I built on the actual server. My section for uploading documents seems to be giving me problems. Can someone help me please? This is the error I am getting:
Microsoft JET Database Engine error '80004005'
'c:logindatairb.mdb' is not a valid path. Make sure that the path name is spelled correctly and that you are connected to the server on which the file resides.
This New Company I'm with Sets their Default WebSite to a local Directory on "D" Yea I've been down the whole route reinstalling XP Pro,,, IIS 5.1 The .NET framework everything. Now I'm just frustrated.
What the Heck !! Theres a web project (C# ASP.net) in the solution containing many many some odd 19 or so projects. MSVSS is additionally in the picture to make things a little more complex. (I.E. the non web projects go elsewhere on the D drive) All I'm asking for here are the BASIC Settings to get my DEV environment and my IE to "SEE" this D:Web folder as Localhost. It worked for a sec. A very brief second. Then it was Gone. Specific ERROR:
Could not load type 'appname.web.Global'. Parser Error Server Error in '/' Application.
My text file, dsn file, and asp page are all in the same directory on the web server. My problem is that I want the text file to be on drive U: (which is each users drive)When I do this I get the following error (even if I copy the dsn file to the U: drive):-
Microsoft OLE DB Provider for ODBC Drivers error '80004005'
[Microsoft][ODBC Text Driver] '(unknown)' is not a valid path.Make sure that the path name is spelled correctly and that you are connected to the server on which the file resides.
I'm getting the following error on one of the servers I maintain:code:
Microsoft OLE DB Provider for ODBC Drivers error '80004005'
[MySQL][MyODBC 5.00.11][MySQL] 2006 MySQL server has gone away
Always occurs when the MySQL server it connects to restarts, which is hosted on another box. Nothing but an IIS restart fixes it.Is there anything I can do to get ASP to automatically pick-up the connection, or force a reconnect? I'm not an ASP coder, so a little hand-holding would be nice (don't worry, I won't kiss you).
I am getting this error after uploading an asp search page and attempting to search an MS ACCESS database.
Microsoft OLE DB Provider for ODBC Drivers error '80004005'
[Microsoft][ODBC Microsoft Access Driver]General error Unable to open registry key 'Temporary (volatile) Jet DSN for process 0x7d0 Thread 0x340 DBC 0x2870cd9c Jet'.
I've researched the error code online, and it seems to be server-side,but a lot of the server talk is pretty much Greek to me.
I had developed a messageboard in asp which allows users to post new messages, reply to existing messages.I am using textarea (Html tag) for a messagebox in my asp page .When the user enters any characters in messagebox except a single quote ('),the message gets inserted in oracle database without any problem. But if message contains single quotes (') , while inserting in a database it gives the following error
"Microsoft OLE DB Provider for Oracle error '80040e14' ORA-00917: missing comma ".
Is there any solution to insert messages containing single quotes in a database?
