How To Import Certificate File Into Windows Certificate Store Under IWAM Account
Due to the nature of our system, we need to dynamically import certificate
files into windows certificates store and access the certificate store from
ASP pages, these ASP pages call a VB dll component, which uses the CAPICOM
component to manipulate windows certficate store.
Because ASP is running under IWAM account, we got "Access is denied" error
when trying to import the certificate files. We registered the VB
components under COM+ to get around this security problem. However,
recently we are experiencing all sorts of problems with COM+ ( eg.
DLLHost.exe hang with 100% CPU after heavy traffic, ActiveX component can
not be created out of sudden), we decided to move this VB component out of
COM+, which means we are facing the same old "Access is denied" problem
again. Code:
We have an existing in-house solution that allows authorized third-parties to make internet requests to our web server. (using the inet / internet transfer control). The communication is established over SSL - TCP:443. We have a typical load-balance scenario where the incoming request is forwarded either to IP.A or IP.B.
We have a total of about 5 requests per minute from various third-parties that have connected with us. For the sake of simplicity, let's assume a third-party to connect with an IP - 10.10.10.5. They hit our load balancer's public ip (e.g. 10.10.10.8) where the request is forwarded either to the primary server (10.10.10.6) or the secondary server (10.10.10.7). Every ALTERNATE request is forwarded accordingly, i.e. Code:
I'm finishing up a site (IIS/ASP/SQL) that has to use an SSL certificate. The certificate's already purchased, and the hosting service *says* it's all set up.Only a handful of internal pages on the site need to use it.
So, though nearly all the internal links are relative, I've used the whole https://www.domainname.com/whatever.asp URL in the links to "secure" pages. And it doesn't work. IE 6 just draws a totally useless error message of something like "Internet Explorer cannot access the page."
I am working on a page in ASP where the user takes a quiz and if they score 80% or over they can print a certificate with their name on and some other info from the database. I have to use a template for the certificate as it will be authentic and credited. (it could be in .doc or .pdf format or any other that you might suggest that can be formatted properly). is there a way to do this is ASP/vbscript?
i am trying to create an application which will look into the microsoft certificate server database and display all the pending, issued, revoked and rejected certificates to the administrator in the visual basic application.
i have referred to the msdn library and have tried to use the code given there however to no avail, the code doesn't seem to work for me can any one please help me with this.
I've upgraded my web server (W2K, IIS5) to W2K3, IIS6.0 with the web application (ASP, not ASP:NET) that uses client certificates.
Basically, when the user provides the client certificate, the asp page takes the public key and checks in the database for that public key. If it finds the key, it then maps the user to the firm's id.
The code that takes the client cert looks like this: Code:
How would I get a windows account name through ASP? Say I login with veamon, and the start menu says Bob Barker ...how would I get the Bob name...i can get the login name
I' m trying to import an Excel file in a SQLServer db. If I specify the spreadsheet name it works correctly. Now I'd like to import the spreadsheet without specify its name. Is there a way to retrieve the spreadsheet names of my Excel file in ASP?
I copy my emails from microsoft inbox and save it into a textfile and try to read the information and save it into access table. But during i read the textfile i am stuck.
Dim fso, fil, ts, sContents Set fso = Server.CreateObject("Scripting.FileSystemObject") Set fil = fso.getfile(server.mappath("myemails.txt")) Set ts = fil.openastextstream(1) sContents = ts.readall aBuild = Split(sContents, "From:", 2) sFrom = Split(aBuild(1), vbCrLf, 2)(0) response.write(sForm) ts.close Set ts = nothing Set fil = nothing Set fso = nothing
Basically, I want to have an asp page that has a button where when you click on it, it opens up a file open dialog box where you can search for any excel file you want to import. Then, once a file is selected, I want to read all the contents of the excel file (from column A) to display into a listbox on the screen (so that each individual row from excel file would be a separate item in the listbox). Also, this data would have to be inserted accordingly into an access database .....
Iam reading an article and author mentions IUSR_<machinename> and IWAM_<machinename> whats all this about.then you need to adjust the permissions on the SCRRUN.DLL. Here's how you do it: Navigate to your WINNTSYSTEM32 directory and find the SCRRUN.DLL. Right-click the file and select properties. Then click the security tab and ensure that the IUSR_<machinename> and IWAM_<machinename> accounts have "read" and "read & execute" permissions.
I'm using an asp template to connect to a third party application using a com interface. (read mail and fax messages from a Tobit Software) In the process some files are copied to a local directory. In order for this template to work I had to give IUSER_[machinename] and IWAM_[machinename] read/write rights to the folder where the created files are saved.
My client has a problem with this setup. He pays license fees for Tobit Software on "per user" basis and since he only has a license for one user (Admin) he doesn't want me to use IUSER and IWAM. Is there a way not to use these users??? I'm a ColdFusion programmer and I'm using ASP only because CF can't use this particular com (issues with variant data types). In CF environment I don't have such problems because I have CF service logs in as an Administrator so it has a full access to the system, however I don't know how to set it up in ASP.
I want to be able to upload a image to a directory called 'images' on my server and also save the file name in a database. is there anything out there that does this without a COM?
I'm using Persits ASP Upload to upload files to a simple document management application running on Windows Server 2003. At the moment I've set the OVERWRITEFILES property to FALSE so every time a file is updated ie the same file is uploaded, the filename is extended by a postfix eg if I upload logfile.txt and then upload it again the new file is called logfile(1).txt This is required because the code first uploads the new file and then deletes the old one. The drawback is that the file name extends and extends and extends...
My question is - if I set OVERWRITEFILES to TRUE and the upload fails half way through, will the original file be trashed or will Windows somehow 'roll back'?
I've recently installed an asp component called smartupload, it works very well. The problems start when a mac user uploads a jpg or gif, windows will not open the file.it works fine with a windows user.
The ASP application uses the "File" active-x control. On windows 2003 IIS(6.0), the download the file fails with the Error: Request object error 'ASP 0104 : 80004005'
The above error is retuned by my asp code: lnBytes = Request.BinaryRead(lnByteCount)
I did not see this error on windows 2000 server. Is there any solution/workaround available on Windows 2003 IIS(6.0) for this issue.
I have scoured the web for everything related to CSV imports in ASP. I have everything working, but one issue remains.
My web application accepts a file upload of a Tab Delimited text file, parses through it to create a Comma Delimited file, creates that file on the server, and then goes to the CSV import page.
The CSV import page accesses the Comma Delimited file through ODBC text driver, and I generate SQL insert statements from each record. The problem is, one field is a "room number" field which generally contains numbers, but several entries also contain letters, an entry might be "A121" or "AUD" or "254", etc.
I'm guessing that ASP or the ODBC text driver "guesses" the datatype of the field, because whenever it hits a record with letters in the "room number" field, it uses the last numeric value for that field from any previous record. If there are multiple records with letters in this field, it will continually show the most recent numeric entry from that field, even if it was 5 or 10 records ago!
I am accessing these values using recordset("fieldname"), and all other fields display correctly, except recordset("roomnumber") when there are letters and numbers in the entry.
I've opened the CSV directly on the server and the fields are all fine, in the "room numbers" field, the entries which are all numbers are right-aligned, while entries with numbers and letters are left-aligned, but I assume that's just the way Excel displays them.
I am aware that adding quotation marks around this field would solve the problem, but there is no way I can have the data format changed. I might try to add quotations while creating the CSV file on the server, but this is such a strange problem that I'd like to figure it out anyways.
I still have problem to import the text file delimited by tabs or commas into the database.
I refer to http://www.connectionstrings.com/ for the connection, ODBC doesn't work and OLD DB works only for csv files. Any idea? Does anybody has workable samples?
Standard: "Driver={Microsoft Text Driver (*.txt; *.csv)};Dbq=c: xtFilesFolder;Extensions=asc,csv, tab,txt;"
OLE DB Standard: "Provider=Microsoft.Jet.OLEDB.4.0;Data Source=c: xtFilesFolder;Extended Properties=""text;HDR=Yes;FMT=Delimited"""
nowdays im facing a real problem at work i had finish my project but the remainig is only the import can any body show me how i can import data from cvs file and store it in sql server 2000 i hope i get the answer as soon as posible
I have a problem with including an object in my asp page. Ive translated an algoritm I found that was written in javascript and it needs a method, floor(), from System.Math to work.
in javascript you can just write Math.floor(x+1) but it seems asp doesnt automatically include that Math object. Its a little weird since the method Round() can be used withour any includes of any kind and thats a part of the Math object!
I have a main page called you.asp .In this asp page there is a question What is your gender ? followed with 2 Radio buttons Female and Male. When I select the option Female I want to import QESTF.asp to the main page which is you.asp and when I select the option Male , it should import QESTM.asp to the main page. QESTF.asp and QESTM.asp has only a greeting message. How can I do it ?
I have created a user lists from a database (UserProfiles.mdb) using asp. There is the possibility to click on the different usernames in the list to go to a page with more information about the user:
the link to this page is: <a href="test_bis.asp?userid=<%=userid(j)%>"><%=un(j)%>">
when you click, it works, e.g. http://localhost/Test/DataQuality/U...s.asp?userid=15
My problem is that I need the variable userid to create the new page. I made a test to see if this variable was "imported" in the new page and thus with: Response.Write userid, but I do obtain a blank!! Code:
I'm looking for an ASP script or tutorial to lockout an account after 3 or 5 failed attempts. It should be the best way to prevent my login screen against the brute force attack.
Does ASP only use the IUSR_<IIS Machine Name> to gain access to files located on a LAN, or can another user account name and password be setup? To create a file on another computer on the LAN in ASP using the FileSystemObject requires permissions on that other computer. Using a DSN for a ODBC driver requires permissions to SELECT records from a database file on another computer on the LAN. Must I use the IUSR_ account only?
I have an application that references a database on my hard drive, however I am unsure how to transfer the files to the server and keep the integrity of the database reference string.
Using classic ASP I want to check if a username and password are correct before passing the details on to an object (stocktake module) that uses them to authenticate the object. The object defaults to a preset user if the authentication fails and doesn't warn the user, so I wanted to do the check manually before passing it to the object.
I was asked by a client to make changes for their Outlook Web Access page where I need to validate Expiry Date of the Password and also the Password Length for the NT Account Policy. Initially I use javascript to do a static validation for the password expiry and password length. There request now include dynamic changes to the Javascript where if the password length is changed on the NT Account Policy, it will reflect on the client side script. Also they request for server side validation as an alternate just in case.
Can someone point me to the resources available for this. I am stuck on this one for quite a while now and no idea on how to proceed?
I am working on a commercial ASP web application which use MS Access 2000 as database. When configuring the database access,I got an error saying that this database is a read-only database.
I checked the database property,it shows that this database is archive, not read only.I can directly make change on the database using Access, so, my guess is the problem is not really database related, am I right?
According to the instruction of the software, the database folder must have read and write permissions given to the "anonymous web user account", I have set the database folder to share and gave all permissions to "anonymous logon " and "every one", but the problem is still there. I am just wondering, what is the "anonymous web user account" in Windows 2000 server and IIS?
