How To Get The Return Value(array Type) Of A Webservice Method In ASP
There is a web method called "getQuote", which takes a string indicating the symbols as its parameter, and return an array of "BTQuote" objects which contain the info of every symbol respectively.
Also, there is a proxy object which is generated automatically by the IDE. This proxy object is wrapped as a COM tlb and deployed on the server, correctly, i'm sure.
I want to write ASP code to get the returned "BTQuote" array so that I can show the information, can anybody tell me how to do that ?
ps, I've already written the following code to initiate a service object, it worked fine:
Set btService = Server.CreateObject("BTLib.BTDemoService")
How do I get this return value? = btService.getQuote("bidu")
I am trying to pass an array from an asp page (JScript) to a dotnet web service using the SOAP Toolkit 3.0. This is still at the Hello World stage, as you can see: ...
can i put my operators into an arry, as i want to loop them later in a loop. but i have problem declearing the data type of the arrys.
Dim operatorsArray(4) As ????? operatorsArray(0) = "+" operatorsArray(1) = "-" operatorsArray(2) = "*" operatorsArray(3) = "/"
what should the data type be to work. can i have an example of how i am going to use it.can it be done this way eg. 2 operatorsArray(0) 3 operatorsArray(0) 4 operatorsArray(0)does the above interperate as 2 + 3 + 4?
Does any one know of a good tutorial of using WebServices in ASP. Its like I have an asp file at http://www.mysite.net/get.asp that want to retrieve some info from http://www.mysite.com/ab/pq. How do I go about that??
I'm not sure if this is the right place for my question, but I am having some problems with webservices. I am trying to use classic asp to consume a webservice that requires DIME messages for input. The dime messages contain xml data and sometimes jpeg images. My problem is to generate the DIME messages. I can generate xml using my asp page, the only problem is to transform this into a DIME message.
Are there any (custom) components available to use when generating DIME messages?
we have successfully running a webservice wrapped with the NuSoap.php libs since quite a while. Now, a colleague of mine in another institution would like to use this webservice. But he is using ASP... As I have only experiences with the setup of PHP webservice, I don't know where to start... Is there any ASP lib available? Or how does it work?
The following shows when I call it locally. If you look at the URL that has http://localhost, this is the one I use when I call the ASP page from the same local server (self contained).
When I want to call the remote server (the one that fails) I use the other URL has http://remote.
I hope this helps..
Because the webservice is the same on both machines and I'm calling both machines the same, what would cause the remote machine to return that the Request form not recognized?
I have encountered some strange behaviour when using the XMLHTTP Request object in Javascript to return xml from a C# Webservice Method. I create a SOAP envelope and send it off to the Webservice, which I have debug points in, which when hit I can see that all the parameters are coming thru as null....
That's better than internal server error. This is what came back, which is confusing because when its called locally it comes back fine. Am I missing something? ....
I am trying to access a webservice to post some values via MSXML2.ServerXMLHttp The OS used is win2003 on both machines.
When I access the local machine (A) which has the same service the call works great. When I access the other machine (B) that is on the same subnet, I get a Status of 500. Code:
I got a problem while running an application. The code for this is as follows:
aList = Split(strMsg,";") For nX = 0 to UBound(aList) strarry=split(aList(nX),"_") var_year=left(strarry(2),4) var_month=mid(strarry(2),5,2) var_day=mid(strarry(2),7,2) var_date=var_day&"-"&var_month&"-"&var_year var_time1=mid(strarry(2),9,2) var_time2=mid(strarry(2),11,2) var_time=var_time1&":"&var_time2 set rs1=conn.execute("insert into tbl_BackupfileInfo(Filename,Createddate,Createdtim e)values('" &aList(nX)&"','"&var_date&"','"&var_time&"')") Next
while runnig this application some times it works fine .But some times it giving an error
Error Type:Microsoft VBScript runtime (0x800A000D) Type mismatch: 'UBound'.
This query sort on the basis of Lft and Rgt columns.
The name of the array is: aEmp.
My question here is how can I get only the LastName from the aEmp array into another array so that I can sort the names alphabetically and then display the employees in the alphabetical order.
Or is there is another way I could this by using the same array while keeping the lft and rgt sort of the query? If I sort based at the SQL query level, I can see the names sorted by the lft, rgt and lastname, but since the lastname is at the end of the sort list - it does not appear alphabetically.
In working with arrays, I have found that I am unable to dimension and array with a variable that has an integer value but I can redimension one this way. I haven't see any information that tells me if this is a requirement, although it appears to be because I get an error if I try it.
Ex.
Dim b b = 10 Dim a(b) ' this errors out but Dim a() ' this Redim a(b) ' works
I have a table with four fields, ID (auto increment), question (varchar(200)), answer (Text), and shop (tinyint(3). When I connect to the database in an ASP page and write this code
but if I change the type of the answer field to type varchar I don't get the error but am limited in the length of the field's contents. I just also noticed that if I keep the type at TEXT and change the collation to ascii_general_ci I don't get the mismatch error but all the ' characters turn into ? characters? Oh woe is me.
I want to create a new array called arrNames2 and copy contents of arrNames to arrNames2.
I then want to loop through my db and add more names (while going through the loop) to arrNames2. What is the best way to do this? Do I have to keep redim the array wehn I add more names?
I have downloaded the DiscIDCalc program from CDDB. I've used it a lot because I've written my own application for my CD collections (keeping track of the track information of each CD, track duration etc). I've already got all my CDs into the application, I'm now just going through each of the disc again just to add in the DiscID information. I do it by running the DiscIDCalc program, generating the DiscID, and then then copying and pasting this DiscID into my application and then save it. if anyone has successfully generated the DiscID within an asp page? Now I have to have my browser up and this DiscIDCalc program up. Just want to know if there's a way to incorporate the two together (even if it means I'm not using the DiscIDCalc anymore.). This DiscIDCalc has a documentation for its DiscIDCalcDLL.dll but it's not something that I can CreateObject with, so I'm quite clueless... I don't want to use VB to write APIs for that
I use query string to search for records by using GET method. This method will generate querystring automatically by using the form name. Using search field together with drop down is fine but the problem is when i didn't enter any keyword or left the search field blank it won't display any result.
Unless I put "%" in the search field. How do I make the querystring change to "%" whenever the field is blank so that all records will be displayed.
I updated to aspx last three month, after developing serveral applications,Idecided to downgraded to asp, following is my reasons: 1.in ASPX,the page format is hard to control,in ASP u can change every html as u like ,but in aspx, a aspx control decide the page format, and its hard to change the format.
2.ASPX is said to be faster that asp, but it is based on too-often communication back to the server, for example,u click a radio a button, there is new page request, but in reality, such a communication is bandwidth-consuming and time-consuming. the user only need to submit the form, and the exchange between IE and Server was minimazed. the Speed of ASPX is not useful for most sites, for bigger sites, the speed increase is singnificant, but for small sites with less traffic, the speed of ASP is quite enough.
3.ASPX is based on Object Orinted Programming, but in most small sites, Procedure orinted programming is used, we never build objects, and POP is more efficient.ASPX is for three-tiered structure with a single layer of business logic component, but in reality, most of us used two-tier structure, that is Presetation layer and Datalayer, we can layout the page and change the database in a single page, quite effienct too.
I want to return a 404 response from an ASP script (IIS 5).
Response.Status lets me set the response string, but if I don't include any HTML text myself, the result is an empty page.
Is there a way to 'redirect' it to the server's default 404 response, as if the URI really doesn't exist, but without really redirecting it so the URL isn't replaced in the browser's address bar?
I am trying to replace a huge chunck of code that currently I incorporate with an #Include directive. The program rarely has to flow through that code, so I thought it would be better if I used Server.Execute. I found I can pass data TO the called asp file by creating an HTML <input> and erading it after I get there. However, I also need to read back ONE variable that the called file must set. I cannot figuer out how to do that. My backup positions are (1) I can keep on using the #Include technique, and (2) I can use a database to bridge the gap.Isn't there a way to carry data BACK TO the calling asp file FROM THE CALLED asp file?
I am using a stored procedure to insert set of values to a table.I am generating or calculating the value of the primary key and inserting that record and i need that value to use in my application so is there any possibilty to return a value from storedprocedure to asp application.
what i am using to do is creating a #temp table and inserting that value in the sp and then opening that value in the asp application and droping that table, but i hope it is not a efficient method.
When a user logs in, I want to redirect them to the page that they were previously on. How do I do that? I already have the login page working. I just need to edit the redirect part.
i am trying top update a field in my sql database but it wont let me??? does anyone know if my syntax is correct?? I have a field called userId in the database and want to replace it with my form request. Code:
