I am having trouble publishing .aspx files in my Sharepoint Portal Server. I receive the message: "The page contains server script, which is not supported on this server", apparently due to the dual security of WSS and ASP. I have heard that there is a possibility of side-stepping this problem by publishing the files in the _layouts directory. Can someone please instruct me as to how to do this, or if there is a better way to get around this issue.
I have installed IIS on WINDOWS 2003 server. IIS is working only if I type filename.aspx for .asp or any other file its giving "HTTP Error 404 - File or directory not found. "
I have a COM/DCOM software which will load some asp files on IE5.0. However, after I have installed IE6, it couldn't work any more. I expect that anything can be loaded on IE5.0, can also be loaded on IE with higher version.
Do you have any idea what may cause the problem? Also how can I find out the problem?
I can add the following to create multiple worksheets within the Excel file: .... <x:ExcelWorksheets> <x:ExcelWorksheet> <x:Name>Worksheet1</x:Name> <x:WorksheetOptions> <x:Print> <x:ValidPrinterInfo/> </x:Print> </x:WorksheetOptions> </x:ExcelWorksheet> <x:ExcelWorksheet> <x:Name>Worksheet2</x:Name> <x:WorksheetOptions> <x:Print> <x:ValidPrinterInfo/> </x:Print> </x:WorksheetOptions> </x:ExcelWorksheet> </x:ExcelWorksheets> ....
My recordset displays the results on "Worksheet1" by dropping the recordset results into a table within the body of the asp page. Is there a way to get the results to display on "Worksheet2"??? I am assuming that the method of creating the multiple worksheets <above> is incorrect in doing what I want ....
When I try making changes to aspx files in a SharePoint Windows Services web site, I get an error message saying that Visual Studio cannot open a SharePoint site. Is that true, if so, how can custom changes be made?
I am building an web application that will be hosted on load balanced servers (multiple front and one backen db). The application will have to allow users to upload files onto the server. For performance reasons, I do not want to store binary files in the db (cuz there will be frequently retrieved and stored and many will be within the range of 10 MB - powerpoint slides and pdf files) so uploaded files will have to stay on the front end web server.
The problem with this approach is that there will have to be some mechanism that replicates the files automatically among the front end servers. Can someone shed some light on what the best apporach is to my problem? I am wondering whether Windows 2000 has such service available to do file replication (if so, how?)
I currently have my database set up so that when a user uploads a file, it writes it in binary in the database. I know the benefits of having a separate file server and storing the path, but unfortunately, I can not do it that way.
I know how to include the file in, lets say, a hyperlink so that any user can click on the file to view it. But, I would like to know how to include the file (mainly pictures) directly into the page as an <img src> Any suggestions?
P.S. Once the information is in the database, these are the commands I use to output the file to a hyperlink. The file that this code is in is "file.asp?Id=" Where the Id is taken from the URL and used to obtain the correct file. I left out all the connection/cmd strings intentionally just show I could show the relevant information:
I have a page with only one <input type=file ..> tag.
The page submits to itself with a "Save File to List" button. User browses thru the files and click the above button to add the file to a list. In the end user clicks "Submit" to upload all the files from the list to the server.
Problem # 1
I'm not sure how to save FILE type object collection/array, with every click of first button.
Problem # 2
How do I post that collection/array varaible when submit (2nd button) is clicked.
I have had a post previously that was regarding an image editing component for ASP, I had settled on csImageFile, which performed all the tasks I needed, and so I started looking for an upload component... Well ChestySoft also had a component called csASPUpload, which worked great, so I opted to get that too... Then I also noticed that ChestySoft also had a product that was an OCX control that allowed you to do a multiple post upload... which would be perfect for my uses. My question is, does anyone know of a free alternative to csXPostUpload, or should I fork out the $80 for a license? www.chestysoft.com
Is there a way where an end user can download multiple files with one click?
I have a database table that can return between 1 and 12 different filenames (JPGs). I'd like to have a single button on the page that will initiate the download of all of them simultaneously. Is this possible?
I try to do a multiple delete of files through FileSystemObject, but after deleting the first file, ASP gives me a "Permission denied" error. Below you see my code:
Set fso = CreateObject("Scripting.FileSystemObject") For Each Item in Request.Form("filename") delFile = path2 & "files" & Item fso.DeleteFile delFile Next
We know that we can use <input type=file ...> to upload one file per time to the server. My question is if there are some way to upload multiple files per time to the server. (Of course, we can use <input type=file ...> multiple times and then submit once.
But this is not what I want, because we have to click "browse" button several times to select multiple files before submit in this way.) "Upload multiple files PER TIME", I mean it. We can select multiple files in ONE time, submit in ONE time, and thus upload in ONE time. Are there any way to do that?
We have a master page set up and it is tied to its css file through the standard method in the <head> tag. What I would like to do though is from another page inheriting the master page to add another link to a css file.
That way i can have the sites global file used to make the general apperance consistent, then make the internal content more flexible without destroying the current css file.
Is this a possible task? When i went into the main master page and tried to add a <asp:contentplaceholder id="additionCSS" runat="server" /> tag to the head. When this is done visual studio alerts me saying it doesn't recognize the tag 'asp'. Is there a way around this? We are only just rewriting the site to use master pages now so I'm still figuring it out.
I have an asp.net page that I would like to open up another asp.net page within the first one. Like a parent - child relationship. I need to display a graph in the child on the parent.
I'm still new to server side languages, and have been going though asp 3.0 for beginners by wrox for about two weeks. Is it a waste of time to learn asp now since .net is supposed to be the future? Am I better off just learning php since it's so popular, and open source? I'm really lost, and kinda pissed off about the lack of backward ocmpatability for asp. I read .net is so completely different in all aspect, and it uses ado.net.
At the moment I know the following:
html/xhtml css tiny bit of vbscript/asp 3.0 adobe photoshop/image ready
What should I be focusing on learning. I'm scared i'll choose the wrong thing, and waste time on it.
I have been using ASP for a few years now. For the most part I have been able to make it do what I need for it to do. Is there a reason I might want to be learning ASPX? Can someone point out some of the general differences between ASP and ASPX?
I got some code in ASPX format but I have no idea about how to make it work.. like, I did this . I created a virtual directory in IIS . Gave default.aspx as the default document . When i enter the URL in Internet Explorer, it displays only the code rahter than displaying the output
I've just taken a client who has a membership-based site served as aspx. Yhe relationship with his current host/developer is going south and I need to switch to new hosts and find someone to handle the backend stuff. Much of the site appears to be poorly structured - needlessly complex and yet lacking certain features. From my own limited knowledge of what I've seen of it, I'd have suggested using a drupal and a bunch of php... but I know little and may be talking out of my butt. I'm more comfortable with linux/apache... and I'm guessing that's incompat with the current work - or is it? The database is sql so is it viable to migrate away from aspx? Etc?
I don't know ASPx at all, but I working with some simple code here that is supposed to display the date automatically at the bottom of a page. Here is the code:
I am writing a script that requires two actions performed on the same page.upload pictures and store them on the server & 2) Send all of the variables from the WebForm to the WorldPay servers via the POST method. I am aware of the Server.Transfer and Response.Redirect methods but neither of these will do what I want.
Are there any soluitions out there in C# that I can used to do this easily( running out of time on this project!)?
if a .NET-built site is running on Windows 2000/IIS, can I put up some classic ASP pages? It will be under the same domain name, just on the aspx pages, they will have a hyperlink to my ASP pages, just like if they linked to any other web pages.
I have an aspx page that has the "include" code in it which includes another page that displays information. I also have an upload page that allows users to upload a simple html document onto the server. The include code calls that html page to display the text on that page.
The problem is when the user uploads that html page, the aspx page does not refresh to reflect those changes, even if the user hits refresh in their browse. However, if I manually connect to the server and open the aspx page that contains the code and hit save then the webpage updates to reflect the changes that were made to the include page. Can anyone help me fix this problem?
