I ran IISLockdown for another problem and it trashed IIS. ASP pages wouldn't
run at all. So I Googled it forever to no avail. So I unsintalled IIS and
resintalled it. Now the status is that ASP pages ask me to login and then
they run. I assigned the maximum permissions to the IUSR_xxx account as well
as gave it read permissions to the folders it is using. Code:
I am using CDONTS to send mail to the user from my ASP application.
However, the code doenst works all the time. I am able to get mails but
nothing happnes most of the time. The code works maybe once in 20 tries.
What could be the reason?
I have a query in ASP that does a select * from table
It doesnt retun all columns!
When i use objRS("columnname") I get blank. This only effects some colums and I fix it by using
select *,missingcolumn1,missingcolumn2 from table
i posted earlier, and the response seemed to be there is
another dll i need to use the cdonts object, i used it
fine for awhile on my old setup, i upgraded to 2k3 and it
errors up as if cdonts isnt an object. So is there a dll
i need to have to use the cdonts object in iis 6 or do i
need to rewrite my code to use cdo? (if so, please provide
asp 3 example on how to send an email with recepient,
sender, body and subject)
I wrote the code for Members of Register. and i use cookie in this code, My database is SQL server. SQL server dosent support the cookies in my codes i dont know why this cause but my codes are working without any cause .

When I enter "abc" into the "zip" field on the form, I get the

Why doesn't the first statement assign the "abc" string to the
variable "zipCode"? What am I not seeing?

I'm using SQL Server and I decided to convert one of the fields from nvarchar to ntext. The transition in the manager was all right, but my ASP pages wouldn't display the ntext and there is no error message. I use Code:

to display the ntext...and there is nothing.
I have a database table with several records. Now I am filtering some data based on the "where" statement. If I run the query in analyzer then I get 20 rows. If I run the same query in asp and assign GetRows() to an array, then the array returns only 4. I am not sure if I am using the GetRows wrong. Here is a snipp of my code:

I have one field char type data length 1.. It has data either 1 or 2 in all the field tht I have checked through enterprise manager.

Using IIS 5.0 and sometime some asp pages (absolutely
randomly) showing as blank white pages. So far only one
way of fixing it - restart whole server. Restarting IIS,
or specific web server not helping, only whole server.
I enable server side and client side debugging, but no
errors showing up...

I need to set an online directory and file the write permissions,fot JET to use it's temp file whthout problems.
Im using ACE FTP Freeware,and the properties I ask for each element directory and each file says that the write permissions are OK, but I still got errors while trying to update it online.How can I change IIS permissions?
I have a compiled activex dll component on my server. When I log into the website under the administrator I can successfully access the dll, however using another windows NT user simply shows 'unable to create component due to permission'.I have ensured that the user in question has all writes to the dll file on the server, including the IUSR and IWAM accounts.

I'm going to be creating a site where customers will be able to set up their
own sub-site (ie. www.mysite.com/theirsubsite). I'll need to be able to
create virtual directories on-the-fly, so I plan on using ADSI to accomplish
this. My question is - what are my options when it comes to permissions?
Will I need to give the IUSR account admin permissions to create these
directories, or is there some way to impersonate an admin account on the
script creating the directories? Has anyone dealt with this before?
i need to allow my ASP app to append and use data in text file, but restrict users from pointing directly to it and opening it for viewing.
what permissions should be set for the text file and is there a special way to access the file from the my ASPs? i am use JET ISAM driver to had data access to the text file. it all works fine except for the problem i mention. also, i have to reset permissions when ever i upload from my PC to development and production sites.

How do I setup perrmissions in my FTP to allow anonymous access where you can only upload to and download from a separate folder but not create sub folders or change any permissions etc.
I have my trusted users with extended permission in like c:ftproot ame1, c:ftproot ame2 etc and would like to have my anonymous access directed to something like c:anonymous. I do not want them to see the trusted accounts. Can I and how do I do that?
I have a mixure of .htm / .html / .asp files on an IIS Server at our main office. When people at another location goto the web they can view the .htm,.html files but can't access the .asp because of permissions.
