Killing COM+ Object Instance
How to set timeout for COM+ object instance? If any instance is running more than 15 minutes, I want COM+ application to kill the instance automatically. Is there any way to set this?

Object Reference Not Set To An Instance Of An Object.
We are using .net 1.1 on windows 2003 server. This is we are facing in our
production server.
When we are doing the load testing we are getting the bellow error. While
the load testing this error is not coming frequently. When we run 20 threads
for 3 mins we are getting this error message 2 or 3 times. But this line of

ASP Session Killing
I have used session.abandon in the ASP logout page.
Also I have given code to redirect to login page (when session is null), when anyother URL is entered.
But when I hit the back button, we get the older page. How can we force them to redirect to login page?

Killing Winword.exe Process And Office 2003
I'm having difficulty getting winword.exe processes to die on our
development server when using
SET objWord = CreateObject("word.application") from an .ASP page.
This problem exists on our development server only as we are still
using Office 2000 components in production. No probs in production with
the current code which has been in use for a couple of years now.
I have to get these ASP pages working with word 2003 to avoid a rewrite
of a few applications.
I've tried using objWord.Quit and setting the object to "Nothing" but
it has no effect on the running process on the server.
Both development and prod servers are Win 2003 Server.
SECOND Instance
I have a script that looks for a phone number. I use an instr to see if
it finds a - for the phone number. I them grab the 3 characters before
and 4 after for the phone number. Works well, except when someone uses
the - in the text.How can look for the second instance of the - if the right 4 characters
past the - are not numeric?

Opening Instance Of Excel Through Asp
when i try to open an excel spreadsheet using the
following code, the process just hangs IF the spreadsheet
contains macros:

this worked on iis4, but since moving this to iis5 it
fails under the aformentioned circumstances. my guess is
that the macro security has something to do with it as a
dialog box will pop up if macro security is set to medium,
but i'm not sure this is really the problem. if it was,
what profile should change the macro security on the
server? when task manager is opened on the server to see
the hanging task, it shows SYSTEM as the process owner...
any ideas?
Create Instance Of Filesystemobject
My server chokes when i try to use the filesystemobject. I'm running IIS v5.1 on XP Pro and it stalls when i try to create a text file or open one. Here's an example script that fails on the 3rd line.

If I have 30 of the same cmpycd in the column, it brings it all up. I think this is one of those IF/THEN things, but not sure how to impliment it in the code.
All I want to do is show one instance of each unique item that exists in the cmpycd column. If it exists 300 times, I just want to show it once. Then also show the compFN that is also in the same row.

I have a VC++ COM object which fires an event. I've written VB EXE apps against it and they receive the event notification.
I've now built a simple VB COM object which uses the VC++ COM object internally.
My question is, assuming the ASP page which loads the object does not immediately exit, will the VB COM object be able to receive the events from the internal object?
Recordset Object Vs Command Object
I want to open a recordset object on an .asp page. When I open the recordset I would like to use a stored procedure that expects a parameter to be passed for the stored procedure. I will then use the recordset to loop thru the recordset, update values from the recordset and then update the database by passing parmeters to another stored procedure.
I would like to use the recordset object but can it be used to pass a parameter to a stored procedure? Do I need to use a command object to open the records instead in
order to pass the parameter to a stored procedure?

I am creating an e-mail using the CDO object and using the AddAttachment method to attach a file from a URL. I am having a problem in that the file file attached is given a random name (something along the lines of ATXX412.pdf)
Does anyone know if it is possible to rename/assign a name to attached file before the e-mail is sent?

I have an E-mail ASP Web form that is using a CDO Mail
Object. This form has to be filled out before the
customer can download our demo. Currently, the customer
fills out the form, clicks to submit and a message appears
to the customer telling them it was successful and to
click on a picture on the form to download the demo. My
problem is that many of the customer don't read the
message. I want to modify the code so that after the
customer clicks SUBMIT, the info is submitted and then the
download immediately begins without them having to take
further action.
What is the code I should add to begin downloading a file

The original programmer of our website put "on error resume next" on
every page to cover up his lack of skill. Many of our pages are
returning errors that we never see.
I want to make a little script that emails me at the occurance of an
error. I copied one that used the Err object but I don't want to use
it because I would like line numbers is the email.
I then copied our custom 500 error page that uses the GetLastError
function but it always seems to be empty, like no error occurred.
The function "If Err Then" returns true so the Err object sees the
error. Why won't GetLastError return the error.
