I want to put session variable on every page, so that I can create security for pages. Below is my code, Iam not getting idea, that how I put session varaible on every page of my website, to check that either user is logged in or not. Code:
Do you have to declare a session in the global asa or can u just us them where ever I'm passing information from my cookie into a session object then looping through the session content and I was curoious do I need to declare this session in a global asa ?
If so what is the basic outline of what the declartion will look like.
i hav e created a simple user login page see below. But i would like to have a greeting like hello then username. But if you look at how i have done it below the Hello always stays on the page. is there away to get the hello to appear only when someone is logged in??

i have created a script that queries a database for a username and password, and if they are valid sets a session variable to TRUE and redirects to another page. the table which contains the user information is called "Users" with the fields "UID", "PWD", "FIRSTNAME", "LASTNAME", and "EMAIL". my question is, how can i set a session variable to use the FIRSTNAME record for the particular user that logs on? my code is below. What I want to test for is if there is 1 user logged in with Session("test") = 1 and another user logs in with the credentials to set Session("Test") = 1 then the first session will terminate. I have used the software IETrace and it looks like some cookies being passed, but how do I know for sure if (and what exactly) it is using?
I want to login to a page using MSXML2.ServerXMLHTTP.4.0 or an object like this, I must send the form variables needed to login when I try to login to the page. But the problem is, that the page looks like a exe file (not a asp file or php file or what ever). The name of the page I try to login is something like "/pw?/session/login", nothing more, without extension. I have tried the code with a normal asp file with session registration and login process and it worked, but not with this file.

foremost stumbling block I'm hitting is session state between the ASP
and ASP.NET applications. In order to access this information, I'm
doing a HttpWebRequest from the ASP.NET side into an .asp page,
passing the session name on the get in order to request it from the
ASP side and write it back to the response stream, giving ASP.NET
access to it. Of course I change sessions each time I make the call
from the ASP.NET side.
Soooooo, I'm thinking to myself, "Self, shouldn't you be able to fake
out the server by getting the session cookie from the initial usage of
the asp, pass that data to the ASP.NET, and use that to send a request
back the ASP side under the appropriate session?"
From a real high level, I enter the site via a .asp page. This page

I want to create an administration page which lists all the current users who are on the site at the moment.
I know coldfusion has this feature built in using the SessionTracker class... does ASP have something similar? If not... is there any way I can just iterate through all the session files on the server...?
I have created a login and members page, and checked that it works, so that when you enter the correct username and password it logs you in.
But how can I have it redirect the user to their own personal page? Because I don't want to have different users going to the same page, I want them each to have their own personal members page.
I've created a site where the user can register and then log in. However if a user registers, the data is entered into the database, but they cannot log in. But a username i entered directly into the database still works when logging in.
Does anyone have any ideas why this may happen?

windows.now keeping that other window open and now from that main window i am
logging out. so it throws me to the login page (as i am logged out). I
am also clearing and abandoning the session. also with the
FromsAuthentication.SignOut().
now with that login page i am relogging with other persons login ID.
Now i am taking the other window which i had kept it aside and now
refreshing it, it is showing me with the rights of the previous User.
I want it to redirest to the login page as it was open by other user
and now that user is not a vlid user as he has logged out.
