Number Of Bytes

As I ran in to errors like "Ran out of memory" and "Out of memory" I
supposed my website might have memoryleaks. To trace a potential memory leak
I isolated the IIS process and monitored the 'Virtual Bytes' and 'Private
Bytes' for a while.
I noticed the private bytes stays 'low' all the time. Sometimes a bit up,
sometimes a bit down. Virtual bytes also follows the same pattern for most
times. But, sometimes it increases to almost 2gb en stays there.
I've been reading for memory leaks an aggressive caching and stuff and was
wondering when there is a memory leak. In short: what does it mean thet the
amount of virtual bytes stays high? Is this probably due to caching or....?
I'm working wih Flash and using ASP at the backend to connect to an access DB and retrieve 10 records per execution. Is there a method or way to detect the total-bytes of these 10 records (they can be of any size) AND the bytes used by connecting to the DB in the first place. If I can solve this issue, then i can use actionscript within flash to show the realtime DB connection and data-transfer.

Code:
If Err.number<>0 then
If iCount Mod 2 = 1 Then
objRS.Move ((iCount + 1)*0.9)-1
Compensation = Int(objRS(0))
Else
objRS.Move (iCount*0.9)-1
Compensation = objRS(0)
objRS.MoveNext
Compensation = (Compensation + objRS(0))/2

CountArray = CountArray + PriceArray(0,x)

View Replies View RelatedI've created a freight calculator that needs to know how many pallets I'm shipping. I'm using 1 pallet for 750lbs and an extra pallet for anything more than that.
If materialWeight <= 750 Then numPallets = 1 Else numPallets = Round(materialWeight / 750) End If
Now, let's say the materialWeight/750 ends up being 3.2. This is returning 3, but I need it to return 4 since we need an extra pallet.
How can I make it Round up to the next whole number? If it turned out to be an exact number without a decimal then it should stay where it is, but if it's over x.0 at all it should go up to the next whole number.
Is there a command in asp to truncate a decimal? Currently I've got a number that's coming out with up to about 12 decimal places based on input fom the user and I'd like to force it to just display up to two decimal places. Is that possible?

I have a ASP shopping cart system and sell expensive products that can push the total purchase price over $1000. If the invoice total is more than $999.99... say $1010.00, it passes a value of $1.00 instead of $1010.00. Anything under $999.00 get processed just fine. Of course, Authorize.net say's it's my code and not their system.
Is there a limit to FormatCurrency that would cause it to trim the value? I'm not quite sure where to begin looking but my "hidden x_amount" value thats passed along to the gateway is using FormatCurrency.
Code:
<input type="HIDDEN" name="x_amount" value='<% = FormatCurrency(Request("GrandTotal"))%>'>
Looking at it just know I noticed that the x_amount value is enclosed in ' ' instead of " "... could the comma in the currency value $1,010.00 be ending the code? It happened to some of my product drescriptions that had a comma. Changed it to " " and all was well.

I have a simple question. Can you check if a number has been passed through a form? For example I making a website for a property letting company and they upload the property themselves. But if you you put in text into the rent field, it throws up an error when adding to database obviously.I do validate the in put before adding it to the database so was thinking about another IF statement checking that a number was entered before they get as far as adding to the database and throwing up errors
