Have anyone tried the number-of-online-visitors standard script? I am using it for two of my sites (on application start and sessions start and end, etc.). Yet I notice that the script shows a larger number than the real one! If there are 30, it says there are 200!
Any idea why this happens? Timeout is set to 20 minutes I guess.
I wanted to ask for a help for my site. I want to make script that will show the number of visitors, how many visitors are curently on the site.

Then I want to be able to display that number of people on other Pages. Is there any way to do that? I was thinking about using a Global.asa but I have not extensivly worked with them before.

When I open a new Session (by opening an IE window) : Online_Users has increased.
But when I close this window, Online_Users still remain, not decrease.

I understand that there is a way of knowing if the user has actually logged onto the system, as I am sure you can detect how many members are actually signed in using I think global.asa file If I am right. I am sure you could also do it via an sql query if memberid=true, I am sure you could output how many members are true, returning a numbered value.
But is there a method of detecting how many viewers are actually connected to your site, without them actually being logged in? i.e non-members.
Also, how many hits to the site would be good, however this is an inaccurate reference, as a simple refresh would add 1 to the value, is there a method to prevent this, off the top of my head I would think a detect via the ip address? however some ip addresses change depending on there ISP.
Ive seen on a couple of sites it lists the numbers of users on the site at that point.
What is the best way of doing this?One of my sites is on a win nt server and the other is win2k

So I know I can gather the users ip address, date time. All campaigns have a "?source=abc" so I know i can collect which campaign the click came from.But aside from that, can I collect stuff like... the users ISP? how long their session lasted? in master batch table i have various master batch like

Now each master batch can have multiple final mixed batch like
200701-0001-01
200701-0001-02
200701-0001-03
and this record is inserted in to fmix table.
so i have a form in which i have a dropdown menu in which all the master batch is listed,
i select 200701-0001 and that value is passed to next page where i will enter other fields data and insertion to my fmix_no will be done automatic like 200701-0001-01, 200701-0001-02 and so on,
how to achieve this
so in short each master batch will have more than one final mixed batch.

now i got loginlogout thing going on...but if the user will not logout he will be still logged on for the system...
the only rule i want (on this code that i don't know how to wrote) is how to set timeout of 1 hour...that id the user had not moved or did nothing for 1 hour he automaticly will be offline for the system.
I am lookign for an indepth FSO tutorial not something i can copy and paste but something i can actually learn from. I have found things that do some of the stuff that i need it to do but i know down the line somewhere i will come up with problems if i dont write the code myself.

If I put that on a page it doesn't write anything.. so how does this script work? Is it somehow supposed to write how many users are online?
Want to create a web page that asks users certain questions and then when clicking the submit button the info get sent via email.
Obviously will create a form and then will have text boxes for each question. Correct me if I am wrong but the aspmail object is limited to a few fields.
Is anybody aware of an ASP-based online CSS editor? I'd like to be able to manage my site's CSS files online. Ideally, I'd like to be able to change the colors and such online, then have ASP write the changes to the styles.css file. I know I could have dynamic asp tags throughout my site that would pull the styles from a database, but I'd like to just write to the text file. I would like to show 1 icon for events that are in the future (for example blue square) but another icon for events that have passed (example grey square). All I have in the DB is the actual date of the event.
