View RepliesWe have recently upgraded our web server. The web server is in a remote location and is being administered by a contract company. After the upgrade, one of the location of our database (access) has been asssigned the following rights:
Read and Write. There are two more permissions i.e. Read & Execute and List Folder Contents which were not given permssion. With this scenario, I cannot add or update records on a web application tied to this Access database. My Is the Read & Execute not essential in order for me to insert and update or even select record in the web application.
I have an ASP redirect script on many sites. I need to changed the reffeering url to a wildcard but I do not know how to do it in ASP.
View Replies View Relatedis there a way using asp vbscript and an access 2000 database to confirm that an update sql statement was successful?
for example, the sql:
UPDATE yourTable SET yourCol = "some value" WHERE idCol = 1
doesn't return an error message if the sql cant find a row with 1 as it's value.
to throw something else into the mix, i'm using a parameter update query in access - would that possibly make it easier?!
I just installed IIS on my Windows 2000 system. I tried to place a .ASP page on my C:Inetpubwwwroot directory, and it seems to work.
However, when I change the page content (the code, or even the text), the page doesn't seem to refresh... (It doesn't seem to be a IE cache problem). Is there something I'm forgetting in my IIS configuration ? (or in the global.asa file ?)
We've changed a page in our website, but it does not seem to display the changed page when viewing in the browser although we have cleared all the cached files. what might cause the problem?
View Replies View RelatedI am working with asp and windows XP pro developing an Intranet website. I was dealing with some security issues when i came across this article.
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;EN;271071
I used it to change my computer setting exactly as it says. after that myapplication is giving wrong results. If i set up the application on other computers it is working fine which means that all problems are due to the settings that I changed. However I do not know how to undo the changes that I made.
I have an HTML header with a form in it that begins like this:
<form name="main" action="form_action.asp" method="GET" target="bot">
I also have a perl CGI script and I just need one part of that script to be altered by the action of the form. So the user would select from a drop-down menu and, depending on their choice, the perl script would be changed accordingly and then executed.
