Problem Attaching Script Debugger To ASP Under IIS6
I've got a problem attaching the Script Debugger to ASP pages under IIS6. Set up everything following IIS6 documentation: turned on ASP debug in IIS Manager; edited
permissions for Machine Debug Manager in the DCOM configuration, giving Launch and Activate permissions to Network Service (which is the account for the corresponding process pool).
IIS is in WP isolation mode. ASP is activated. Sending detailed error info to the browser is activated and works fine. No errors in event log about DCOM app attach permission denials.

I am using ASP 3.0 for sending emails through my website. It is correctly working and I also successfully attached server reside files via email attachment. I wish to send files from client's computer. Such as if I used input type "file" then I can get the file name with its path at client side but how can I tell the script to deal this path as client side path??? As I have used Server.MapPath but as it is work-full for server reside files. If user’s input file name is "c:documentmyfile.txt" then how can I work with it as my script will treat it as web server hard drive path.
My script can attach files but I do not know how can understand client side path.

I am building a simple incident recording system using ASP.
The form has Name, email address, telno, incident description and records the data to an access db and send an email to the user with an incident ticket number.
The client has asked for an extra feature to be able to attach documents such as Word documents.
Has anyone got a sample script where on the form the user clicks a button where he/she can browse for the file to be attached and ASPEmail can than send the mail with attachment.

I am using Server.CreateObject("Scripting.FileSystemObject") to create a CSV file.

A month or so ago the MS ASP debugger was working fine.
I would put the word "debugger" (Jscript) then browsed to the page via
http://localhost/file.asp and the debugger would open up at the
location I put the "debugger" word then I could step through the rest
of the page.
Note that this is on a single local server (my testing server).
Only thing I can think of is that I installed an app that needed the
..net framework (QAlite), which I've uninstalled (inc .net) and still
no luck in the MS debugger.
It seems to work on any javascript (client side) code, when it pops up
with "do you want to debug" screen.
Note I _have_ the setting enabled on the IIS server for ASP Debugging
Does anyone have any idea how I can get it to work?

I am having a major problem with my Visual InterDev 6 ASP debugger.
When I launch the debugger, I get the message "Unable to find server. Unable to set server into correct debugging state automatically. You may not be able to debug ASP pages. Do you want to continue launching the debugger?".
In IIS, I've enabled server side debugging for my virtual domains, and set Application Pooling for each domain to "Medium".
I notice that when I start the VID ASP debugger, it switches Application Pooling for the web domain to "High", which effectively prevents the debugger from operating.
I'm running Win XP Pro SP2, and debugging local web domains.

I'm running an ASP test site on XP Professional/IIS 5.1. The problem I'm having is that error messages are not being displayed. If I get a script error, all that gets
displayed is a blank page. I've made sure that the "enable server-side debugging" option is selected, and I've tried both restarting IIS and rebooting the server - with no results.
I've checked the client-side page source and I've gotten some very strange results:
One time, it printed a HTML meta tag labeled "ASP_DEBUG_INFO". another, It printed the server- side code.

I am coding in ASP. When there was an error in my code, it used to come up in IE and tell me the error and the line of the code it was on. Now, it's opening Script Debugger on the server all of a sudden, and I no longer see those errors in IE. Does anyone know why this is happening and what I can do to stop it?

im writing classic asp code in dreamweaver. i did install visual studio ages ago. about the same time the vs 'just in time' debugger keeps popping up every time theres an error in my code (im using dreamweaver not vs). How can i disable this and go back to having the error display in my browser? Ive gone into vs and disabled the debigger but its still doing it. does anyone know? i dont really want to uninstall vs as i may need it in the future.

I have installed Microsoft Script Debugger.
But when I select the Running Documents option from the view menu, there is
nothing but an empty window displayed.
I wish to debug ASP pages.
So I was expecting to find a Microsoft Active Server Pages node, from which
I would select the ASP pages I wished to debug.
I can execute the pages of the my ASP application. But when I include a
stop statement in the ASP server side code the ASP page is not paused.
I am using IIS on the same development PC that I am doing my testing. I
have enabled ASP server-side script debugging on the Application
Configuration Window for both the default application as well as my test
application.
I have both Visual Studio 6 and Visual Studio .NET 2003 installed on my
development PC.

I'm currently testing a version of Win2003 to evaluate a migration of our
NT4 server, but I got some troubles with Office Web Component 9 (office
2000), it seems it doesn't work anymore, and I can't find the issue.

I have a custom File management ASP application that handles Large File uploads and download from a database (30 - 40 MB files) The application works fine on IIS5 but when I relocate it to IIS6 i get an error when I file not found error when i attempt to download out of the Database. IS there a reg setting or metabase setting that i need to change to handle large blob outputs.? Sorry I can't be more specific about the error msg but that is all it give's me a File not found error. it does however work fine with small files less then 2mb in size

I used to be able to run ASP scripts on IIS and then I installed MS SQL
server 2000, and EVERY page I go to that has an .asp extension (even if the
code inside is BLANK) will return a error labeled "The requested resource is
in use. ".
I've tried many things like re-installing IIS 6, allot of things. PLEASE
help me, this is on a production box and HAS to be UP AND WORKING before 1:00

I migrated an application from NT4 (IIS4) to 2003 (IIS6).
The application only works when the components are registered with regsvr32.
One of the webpages doesn't work-- when I fill the form out and hit submit I
get "compx error '800af10a' Insufficient memory to perform operation.

I've tried going through and changing permissions but haven't had any luck.
I also tried setting the Web Site to use an Application Pool that I created
to run as System Mode but that didn't make any difference.
Everything works when I select "IIS5 Isolation Mode".
Knowing that it works under IIS5 Isolation mode how can I determine what is
causing the message so I can run it under IIS6?

Is there an explanation somewhere as to how IIS6 determins how many ASP threads its actually going to use?I have configured IIS6 to have 20 threads (ASPProcessorThreadMAX) but it uses them all.
I am using the MACT test tool to stress test and with 50 concurrent users I quite often see only a single ASP thread being used the other 49 are on the Requests Queued. The Request Wait Time in Perfmon can be averaging around 5 or 6 seconds and there is plenty of spare CPU.
The application quite often has long running queries(15 to 20 seconds per request)and rather than use another thread IIS will quite often just keep ticking along with the threads its using with the result that the Request Wait Time can jump significantly.

I've used DynuFTP and am happy with it but now the host server needs upgraded to IIS6 and Win2003. After they did this I get the error that I'm pretty sure is from DynuFTP:

A trappable error (E06D7363) occurred in an external object. The script cannot continue running.
Has anyone run into this? Seems like an IIS6 compatibility issue.

we just upgrade a win2k server to win2k3. First we depromoted it, then we made the upgrade. The webs with ASP worked OK.
Then we made the DCPROMO and promoted it. After restart ASP's won't work.
The message on IE is:
