i am using IIS in windows XP. while sending e mails sometimes, the mails are delivererd instantly but at times after a day or so. is it due to a large files in the queue folder under mailroot? can i delete these files?

but no mail comes to me.All mails stored in Queue folder in MailRoot.
I'm sending out the newsletters using ASP Cdonts. It is fine for few number of mails say about 20. When I started to mass mail say about 200 at a time all the mails got stuck in the queue folder (Now totally 1000 mails got stuck up). Then from my service provider I got the info that the mass mails will be stopped if they are more than 99.

the .eml file has left the Queue folder. The length of time the .eml file
stays in the Queue folder is dependent on the size of that file; big or many
attachments increases the time.
If I start an internet connection, issue the smtp mail send and then close
the connection in my C# program, I need to wait until the .eml file has left
the Queue folder. Otherwise, prematurely closing the internet connection
causing IIS to abort the send.
How can I detect that the .eml file has left the Queue folder?
I am using CDONTS with winnt and all the sent emails are sitting in the QUEUE directory in c:inetputmailroot.

I'm running a mailing list which has grown to around 5000 recipients. I'm currently using ASP to cycle through a database of recipients to send each a custom email with their name, unsubscribe link etc.
Currently I'm using CDOSYS to send the mail, and have set up a page to trigger the emails in batches of 50 so that they don't create blockages on the mail server.
Is it possible to queue emails with CDOSYS, since this would mean I could fire all the emails at once, safe in the knowledge that they will all be dealt with without a problem.
I've used the ASPEmail component before which does this, and it was very effective, but sadly it's not an option to use it on this domain.

View Replies View Relatedim having a problem with folder path in include files. I have a solution, but there must be a way better one. The problem is when i have an include file... menu.inc in my root directory root/. This menu.inc references images in the root/images/ folder.
I also have an articles folder root/articles/. The menu.inc is included in files in the articles folder, however this messes up the image paths and files in the articles folder are looking for the images in root/articles/images/.
to combat this, in front of every image reference in my menu.inc file, i have a variable <%= pathVar %>. At the top of every file in the articles folder, i have the command <% pathVar = "../" %>. this will insert a ../ before the images folder in the reference therfore correcting the image reference. In the root folder I use <% pathVar = "" %> , so the <%= pathVar %> amounts to nothing leaving the paths correct.
This works, however means having to switch from HTML to ASP mode for every image in the include file, which is not efficient. Is there a better way around the path problem.
I've managed to get file listings, do textstreams, move around in the file system a bit, just wondering how I get folder listings as I would file listings...

View Replies View RelatedI developed an ASP intranet solution but I have problems with the DeleteFolder command. If I try to delete a folder without subfolders everything goes fine. If I add some files in the folder that must be deleted it is going to be ok. I can also add some subfolders and I don't have problems but when I add more subfolders with other subfolders and files I get an error of forbidden authorization on the line where there is the DeleteFolder command. This happens randomly and sometimes I can see that only a subfolder hasn't been deleted (while the rest is deleted from the hard disk). If I try to delete it normally windows tell me that I can't delete it! I have to reboot my system in order to delete it!
I checked the permissions and everything seems ok. I can delete specific files and folders but I can't understand why I get this problem.
