I have a variable named DressCode. The content of this variable is something like N040602
I want to split this variable into four parts:
DressCodea would be the N part
DressCodeb would be the 04 part
DressCodec would be the 06 part
DressCoded would be the 02 part
How do you do this is ASP, so it'll split the variable, no matter what the content is, as long as it is that format (ie 1 letter then 6 numbers).
I spend more time with other technologies. Could someone please help me with how to hide sections of content on an ASP page? Please keep it simple. I prefer code examples or at the very least point me to a place on the web that can.

if there was an easy way to have a form set up so that when the submit button is pressed, it goes to a confirmation page that contains a back button that goes back to the page that called the form.
Basically, I'm looking at a scenario where 10 pages can call the form, but I want to user to be able to click the back button and be returned to the page they were on when they click on the link to the form. I thought that maybe using javascript:history.go(-2) would work, but if the form is reloaded for any reason, gaing back 2 pages goes back to the form.
normally I can redirect to my previous page with referrer. is it possible to go one more previous page is in java script. I mean like,history.go(-1), history.go(-2), etc.
View Replies View RelatedI want to have a series of links (flags for Italian, English, and German) on the top of every page, each of which when clicked will go to a script and change a session variable called language to the respective language. Once the session variable is changed, I want to send them right back to where they came from.
So, if they enter a page on the site that is optimized for "Local Area" and it is in English, IF they click German or Italian it will go to the script, redirect back to "Local Area" with the Session var being set appropriately.
Keep in mind though that I need to be conscientous of SEO, so I want to keep querystrings to a minimum. Ideally, what it would look like is this AFTER the redirect:
www.mysite.com/local-area.asp for English
www.mysite.com/local-area.asp?l=i for Italian
www.mysite.com/local-area.asp?l=d for German
i have two sites on shared NT hosting

both sites have their own global.asa files and both appear to be throwing up an error referring to a file that is in a different location

I have an ActiveX control in my ASP page that has not been signed yet, so currently just for testing I set the Security for Intranet to "Low". When I run the ASP page on my machine (the IIS is in my machine), I have no problem, except the page prompted me with "An ActiveX control on this page might be unsafe to interact with other parts of the page. Do you want to allow this interaction?"
But, when I run the ASP page on another machine (even though the other machine is also a development machine that already has the ActiveX control and I set the Security for Intranet to "Low"), it did not prompt me the above message, and I got an error when accesing any method of the AX control (e.g Object doesn't support this property or method 'myAXControl.method').
Is this because I have to create a CAB file and mark the AX control as safe for scripting ?To create a CAB file for this AX control, do I need to create my own VB AX
Control project that contains this control and then create a cab file for this VB project ?
