I sometimes get this error after about 60 seconds of "waiting for
mazes.com" (but when the page works, it usually loads in less than 12
seconds).

but if I click refresh, I usually get the page.
There is a very remote chance that there might be a loop causing this
problem, but I don't think so. I've added timer-checks to the loops
that might cause a problem, and have added other escape methods to
other places that I think have caused the problem.
My questions:
1) Can the system be set to tell what line of the program was executing
when it timed out? (This would certainly help figure out if there's a
particular place that is causing an occasional problem). I'd have to
tell my hosting person how to do it, so be specific if you can.
2) Could this be caused by too many people accessing ASP pages at the
same time? How would he increase the number of users allowed to be
loading pages simultaneously?
3) What steps would he use to reduce the time for this parameter, or
should I reduce it. 60 seconds seems awfully long, but I do have
another page that I
I have an ASP form that uploads files to our server. When I upload small files, it works great. But larger files like (2.5mb), I get:
Active Server Pages error 'ASP 0113' Script timed out
I have looked up the error, and added more time to the script (up to 10 minutes). Didn't help. We are using Microsoft Server 2000, IIS 5.0, and Microsoft ASP Upload.
My guess is that there is a file size limitation somewhere, but don't where.
One of my colleagues has made an upload website. We upload big data over the server via asp. Whenever I wanted to upload 5Mb file or more i receive ASP 0113 error. Is there any way to stop this error so that i can upload bigger files... I have also increase the timeout of IIS but still no use
Getting a false error message listed below. The error occurs only when using an ALIAS instead of actual computername i.e. the server name is INTRANET01 but the alias is HELPDESK.

The maximum amount of time for a script to execute was exceeded. You can change this limit by specifying a new value for the property Server.ScriptTimeOut or by changing the value in the IIS administration tools.
This may be a SQL error, but I suspect it's a connection string problem, hence my posting it here.
I have an Intranet app at the company I work for. It's classic ASP, and connects to a SQL Server 2000. Both the production version and my dev version run on Win2K server boxes, with both the code and the database on the same machine.
I wanted to set up the same app on my computer at home. My spare one, actually, which has Win2003 as the OS. I made the alterations to IIS to allow ASP, which is turned off by default.
When I go to any page which has an SQL query, say to build a dropdown box, I get an ASP 0113 error. ASPfaq.com tells me that it's a timeout.
I know that the ASP code itself is running fine. That is, I can do a response.write. But anything database related is failing with this error.
Here's my connection string, from an include file: Code:
i have just installed jmailbox on my server. i am able to log into my work pop3 account through it. However, when i try to login using my gmail username & password (as gmail also allows pop3 and i am able to log into gmail through mail2web), jmailbox throws a "connection timed out error"
is there a setting somewhere in jmailbox to use ssl and/or change the pop port (gmail uses 995, normally it's 110)?
All I want to do is find a way to cause a vb.net / asp.net program to exceed the httpRuntime executionTimeout="xxx" value to thrown the exception, so I can do some testing. I've tried setting this several ways. I have also tried a do / loop to cause a time out...no go, in total execution time would surely cause a request to time out.
I've tried thread sleep with a value that exceeds httpRuntime executionTimeout...no go.
I've tried a second range loop that when executed should cause the program to exceed httpRuntime executionTimeout...no go.
Anybody have any idea's? Can I actually throw a exception to trigger the time out request?
I've tried it that way, and I receive an error, so I figured it wouldn't allow you since it's "redirecting"...
but my main question is if I can... no, I know that I can.. but does anyone up here no "how" to set a time for a response.redirect using ASP? I can't seem to find it on-line;
I am looking for a way to activate a script or function or something of that sort, to update my access database every hour.
I though maybe timed app could activate itself and run the changes on the database. I thought maybe someone else would have a better idea to help as I am thinking the ASP app would take a while to update a lot of the information. Maybe it would easier to develop then.
I don't know if this is a truly esoteric question, or not, but I'm wondering how (or even if) you handle a timeout on a transaction within a stored procedure executed in a Stored Procedure?
A theoretical example of the stored procedure (sadly, I'm not allowed to post the actual code):
Create proc sp_testproc @myval int, @outval int OUTPUT as
begin tran
select top 1 @outval= myname from mytable where recid = @myval
update mytable set myname='xxxx' where recid = @myval ...

My code:
<% dim self, pid, i, c self = Request.ServerVariables("URL") pid = Request.Querystring("pid") set Session("pageContent") = Server.CreateObject("Scripting.Dictionary") Set custObj = Server.CreateObject("NFIFunctions.ValidateField") Line 6 set psi = Session("pageContent") set errDict = Server.CreateObject("Scripting.Dictionary") i = 1
Let me start by saying I'm fairly new to Asp coding. That said...
My ISP only uses AspSmartMail. I've created an online form that uses fill out, which is then e-mailed to the collector of the information and CC-ed to the person who submitted the information.
The error I'm receiving is this: aspSmartMail.SendMail : Error 28 error '8004001a' 504 Invalid Username or Password
In my script, I've Dimensioned several items, as you'll see below, passing the authenticating username/password to the smtp server, but it's not working. I tried not passing the information by entering in the actual info without it being passed by the diminsioned items. This didn't work either. I of course verified that the username/password I'm usine is correct.
Can someone plase tell me why I can't authenicate? I would really appreciate any help that might be out there.

I have a database driven (ms access) website which runs fine on my computer (win 2000 iis6). However, on uploading, some pages am receiving the following error
"An Unknown script error occured while processing your request."
I am testing a new website I built on the actual server. My section for uploading documents seems to be giving me problems. Can someone help me please? This is the error I am getting:
Microsoft JET Database Engine error '80004005'
'c:logindatairb.mdb' is not a valid path. Make sure that the path name is spelled correctly and that you are connected to the server on which the file resides.
This New Company I'm with Sets their Default WebSite to a local Directory on "D" Yea I've been down the whole route reinstalling XP Pro,,, IIS 5.1 The .NET framework everything. Now I'm just frustrated.
What the Heck !! Theres a web project (C# ASP.net) in the solution containing many many some odd 19 or so projects. MSVSS is additionally in the picture to make things a little more complex. (I.E. the non web projects go elsewhere on the D drive) All I'm asking for here are the BASIC Settings to get my DEV environment and my IE to "SEE" this D:Web folder as Localhost. It worked for a sec. A very brief second. Then it was Gone. Specific ERROR:
Could not load type 'appname.web.Global'. Parser Error Server Error in '/' Application.
My text file, dsn file, and asp page are all in the same directory on the web server. My problem is that I want the text file to be on drive U: (which is each users drive)When I do this I get the following error (even if I copy the dsn file to the U: drive):-
Microsoft OLE DB Provider for ODBC Drivers error '80004005'
[Microsoft][ODBC Text Driver] '(unknown)' is not a valid path.Make sure that the path name is spelled correctly and that you are connected to the server on which the file resides.
I'm getting the following error on one of the servers I maintain:code:
Microsoft OLE DB Provider for ODBC Drivers error '80004005'
[MySQL][MyODBC 5.00.11][MySQL] 2006 MySQL server has gone away
Always occurs when the MySQL server it connects to restarts, which is hosted on another box. Nothing but an IIS restart fixes it.Is there anything I can do to get ASP to automatically pick-up the connection, or force a reconnect? I'm not an ASP coder, so a little hand-holding would be nice (don't worry, I won't kiss you).
I am getting this error after uploading an asp search page and attempting to search an MS ACCESS database.
Microsoft OLE DB Provider for ODBC Drivers error '80004005'
[Microsoft][ODBC Microsoft Access Driver]General error Unable to open registry key 'Temporary (volatile) Jet DSN for process 0x7d0 Thread 0x340 DBC 0x2870cd9c Jet'.
I've researched the error code online, and it seems to be server-side,but a lot of the server talk is pretty much Greek to me.
I had developed a messageboard in asp which allows users to post new messages, reply to existing messages.I am using textarea (Html tag) for a messagebox in my asp page .When the user enters any characters in messagebox except a single quote ('),the message gets inserted in oracle database without any problem. But if message contains single quotes (') , while inserting in a database it gives the following error
"Microsoft OLE DB Provider for Oracle error '80040e14' ORA-00917: missing comma ".
Is there any solution to insert messages containing single quotes in a database?
My asp run smoothly before. But, now, I found the ASP page is not smoothly recently. Sometime if the ASP is requested to connect to Access, the page will prompt
Microsoft OLE DB Provider for ODBC Drivers error '80004005' [Microsoft][ODBC Microsoft Access Driver]General error Unable to open registry key 'Temporary (volatile) Jet DSN for process 0xdd8 Thread 0xae0 DBC 0x3a85074 Jet'.
