The following "Send Page" Script Breaks w/Win 2000 & Outlook XP with the error ""The command line argument is not valid. Verify the switch you are using." However, it does work with win98 and Outlook Express. Any ideas on the problem? Code:
I have a page which automatically sends out email without any user intervention. But I want my page to open the Outlook client, with all the default values that I have to specify. In this way the user, can modify the message and even attach additional files to the mail. How should I do this?
i get my default email addresses from my database, which is basically a replicate of my contacts in outlook, is it possible to access the contacts from the mail server? This way, i just have to maintain the contact list in the mail server instead of maintaining it again in my database.
I'm trying to send email through outlook in asp page. I've tried CDO.Message and Mapi.Session but those method i need to know the exchange server name and the login information so now i have to modify my code I've search through internet for the way to do that but i always have a problem with create outlook object Code:
Does anyone know if its possible to send an Outlook task from an ASP page running on a Windows 2000 Server on an intranet. There is also Microsoft Exchange Server on the same network which handles Outlook mailboxes.
The Windows 2000 server will soon be upgraded to Wndows 2003, if that makes a difference.
Could someone tell me how to send outlook appointment email from asp page? I would like appointment email just like one outlook can send out. I tried to look for an answer for this, but it seems exchange server has to be installed on web server if I want to use the following code?
Is there way to send outlook appointment email without using outlook. Application object? If not, how can I make the code below work since we have separate mail server? ....

I've 300 records in a recordset sort by name column (not unique) needs showing in 3 pages, 100 records each. At this moment i've stored records having 1 to 100 ID in 1st page, 100 to 200 id in second page and 201 to 300 in third page. but this doesn't have the record sorted actually according to name. Can anyone suggest how i can break records in 3 pages as well as sort them according to name.
I am creating some reports with ASP and have come to a bit of a problem. Does anyone know how can I send a page break to the printer? I need to be able to start different items fresh on a new page and I really have no idea how to do it.
I am trying to modify an existing ASP application that produces forms with several 'blocks' of text that are contained within table cells and which have their own HTML id's.
These blocks must not be split over two pages. Is there a straightforward way of calculating the size of each block/table cell so that the blocks are not split and the form prints on the minimum number of pages? This is an intranet application, so we have a certain amount of control over browser settings, so margin settings etc are not a problem.
We have a page that reads records from a database and displays them. Basically name/address/city/state/zip/county/phone. These records are between 4-6 lines a piece (there are other variables involved).
When printing these records via i.e. we currently have a process where we determine how many records have been written and eventually put a table with .break { page-break-after: always } style applied to it. The problem is, sometimes a page will hold 14 records, sometimes 15, sometimes 16. Is there a better approach to this so that records don't get cut off and it maximizes the number of records that display on each page?
Here is my problem - I have an ASP page the is generating a file with HTML that is being opened with WORD. Can anyone give me a simple method, idea, function, example, resourse, etc.... to figure out how to handle PAGE BREAKS. I am not sure how to handle when to put the breaks in for the report that is being created.
Dim id If (id = "") then id = Request.QueryString("id") End If If (id = "") then id = 1 End If
I use a QueryString request function, so when an id is called, that page loads into the current one. This is perfect, however if say the user directly types a link into the url, like index.asp?id=999, then basically the code is flawed, it breaks up.
Secondly if say a page has been erased from the database, and the link still is available, the code is equally flawed, so it would be good to have a page in my id, say id=50 that displays a page with data from the database, explaining that the page you are trying to reach did not exist or no longer exists, because so far, I get a page error:
ADODB.Field (0x800A0BCD) Either BOF or EOF is True, or the current record has been deleted. Requested operation requires a current record. /mjhw/functions/functions2.asp, line 21
i'm trying to display my Outlook Calendar on web page. I made script to display calendar in Excel - works perfectly, but i don't know how to make it in ASP.... Is anybody who know how to change this code? Code:
I want to create an ASP page, which can copy the real PDF files into the clipboard and then the user can paste it in Outlook message as attachments(it's like inserting attachments)
My idea is: When user checked the checkboxes for the requested PDF files from ASP page and press the "Add To Clipboard" button, all requested PDF files will be copied into clipboard. Then, the user open MS outlook message and right click -> Paste all PDF files as attachments.
But, my code is just can copy the filepaths into clipboard not the REAL PDF FILES. How can I copy the REAL PDF FILES? Code:
I'm using sql server 2000 database and trying to access it using asp. when i installed sql server, i selected the mixed mode of authentication(windows and sql server). Code:
Since I updated Office 2000 to SP3, my ASP code has failed when executing this function:
(the HPageBreaks.Add line fails) function insertPageBreak ( xlsObject, strLocation ) with xlsObject .Range( strLocation ).Select .ActiveWindow.SelectedSheets.HPageBreaks.Add .Range( strLocation ) end with end function
Parameters: xlsObject is a valid object of excel created with: Set xls = CreateObject("Excel.Application")
strLocation is a string in the form "Axx" where xx is the current row number, e.g. "A54"
I had to uninstall and reinstall Office 2000 without service pack 3 in order for it to work....
I have a page which works fine testing locally on my win XP PC, using an access database file. When I place it on the server (all code and database file being the same)... it gives an SQL error :
Error Type: Microsoft OLE DB Provider for ODBC Drivers (0x80040E10) [Microsoft][ODBC Microsoft Access Driver] Too few parameters. Expected 2
I've been trying to create a test site - The site uses ASP with VBscript and talks to SQL Server 2000. I was able to complete and test it on my locally on my computer using Microsoft’s IIS 5.1. The website communicated fine with the database on the webserver/network server
However, when I tried to save the site from my local computer to the wwwroot folder in the server’s IIS hoping to make the internal site available to everyone here the resulting error comes up when we try to open a page with a recordset connected to the database: -
Our Error: - Microsoft OLE DB Provider for ODBC Drivers (0x80040E4D) [Microsoft][ODBC SQL Server Driver][SQL Server]Login failed for user 'AUMBSDDSSIUSR_AUMBCOMP'. /mysite/htm/test2.asp, line 8
I'm using formmail.asp which is an emailing utility. Basically, the user fills out a request page, clicks "Submit" and the page posts to formmail.asp which emails the user information.
I'm running IIS5 on a Win2k server box and recently ran the Windows Updates (the last time I do that). Anyway, that emailing form doesn't work now on any of the sites I host. Any ideas?
I am planning to design a database (destined for the web) that will have between 20000 and 45000 records in it and will receive a lot of reads but very very few writes (just from me).
Now the question is should I use:
1) The combination of Access 2000 (accessible through ASP or ASP.NET) using OLEDB Jet
or
2) SQL Server 2000 ?
Of course I know that the SQL Server option is a better one, especially since it's said that an Access DB can have about 9 users or so accessing it at the same time. But is that a general rule or is it about many people writing to the DB? In other words, if an Access DB has hardly any writes and 99.9% reads can it be used as efficiently as it would be used on SQL Server 2000?
I have one 3 tier architecture application running on Windows 2000 Server.
I have created replica of same machine on another machine where OS is Windows 2000 Advance Server.
But when I port same running application on new machine i.e. Machine with OS as Windows 2000 Advance Server, my middle tier (Active-X Dll, COM+ application) fails.
It throws common error Invalid Procedure Call or argument
What could be the problem? Do I need to change any settings for running application on Windows 2000 advance Server.
Is there any easier way to send some page to email (like in Outlook Express) ? Or I just create a html email (I'm using CDONTS) ?I'm considering the second way, just in case users haven't setup their email. But I'm wondering how to send the images. Should I use absolute path <img src="http://www.mydomain.com/images/bullet.gif"> ? Is there anyway I can send the images too by CDONTS ?
I have created simple .asp page and i would like to send my page as email using my outlook. is it possible to send form body as new email outlook body using mailto command or any other way.
I have a html form which allows the user to select add, delete, update or view from a drop down list. Their choice is sent to an asp page.
My problem is how to send them back a form from the asp page depending on their choice and send the resulting input to the same asp page again for processing.
So if they choose 'add' from the html page then that is sent to the asp page and they are sent back another form, to fill out the new record details which is in turn resubmitted to the same asp page to carry out the 'Insert' statement.
