Some Of JPG Files Refuse To Show Up In The ASP Page
Some of JPG files sitting in the same folder show up OK on an HTML page,
while the other do not as if they are not there or their name is misspelt.
Tried low-upper case in an ASP page, and in the files names - same result
Then I noticed that the same files do not show up in the preview pane in the
Windows Explorer althought they still are described by Windows Explorer as
valid JPEG files.
These "wrong" files are not necessarily bigger then the good ones and in
Microsoft Photo Editor they all (good and bad) show up well and they all are
118 Pixels/cm and True Color (24 bit)
What might be wrong with these files? If there is not direct answer, perhaps spmeone recommend me a correct newsgroup?
I have a basic asp page running that is very slow it has to crunch some info and when a user hits submit it can take a minute or more for a response. So what I did was call a second page that should show a gif that is asking them to be patient.
Unfortunately this never shows (See below). I have tried other ways as well, but I have been unsuccessful in getting the gif to show. This has to be simple but I'm not a skilled asp developer so I don;t know how to do it. Anybody have any ideas?
The web page has page1.asp, page2.asp, page3.asp, etc... However, When we type http://www.myserver.com, and go to different pages, the URL will be unchanged. How to do that? Usually, it will be http://www.myserver.com/page1.asp, http://www.myserver.com/page2.asp, etc..., with the actual page.
I'm working on an asp page where I need to be able to click on a link and then show or hide a section of the page. Kind of like folding markers. I can do it by simply refreshing the page but I'd prefer for it to just open and close. Is there a way to do this?
I'm on the last piece of this project, when a user goes to this page "myfolder.asp" it shows the contents of their folder.
If they don't have one created yet, I want to give them a friendly message: "You have nothing in your folder!" , and continue with the rest of the HTML code, but then ignore the Repeat Regions and dynamic text thats inside the HTML.
Right now I have it woking if the table exists, it shows the records. If I delete the table, I have this message at the top of the screen and nothing else: "You have nothing in your folder!"
I have set up Index Server in IIS to search my intranet. I've installed the Adobe PDF filter so that words from PDF files are included.
I can get results from PDFs when querying the catalogue in the Windows console. However, I have tried various ASP Search pages and they all ignore PDF files from a browser (even though the scripts include the pdf extension).
i am new to asp and web designing, and was wondering how to reload a page so that a different set of images appear, depending on which submit button is pressed. Code:
We have a master page set up and it is tied to its css file through the standard method in the <head> tag. What I would like to do though is from another page inheriting the master page to add another link to a css file.
That way i can have the sites global file used to make the general apperance consistent, then make the internal content more flexible without destroying the current css file.
Is this a possible task? When i went into the main master page and tried to add a <asp:contentplaceholder id="additionCSS" runat="server" /> tag to the head. When this is done visual studio alerts me saying it doesn't recognize the tag 'asp'. Is there a way around this? We are only just rewriting the site to use master pages now so I'm still figuring it out.
I have a standard Header.asp that I want to include in every other page in my site. Header.asp is located in the root folder, but the calling pages are in various folders/levels. Since the relative paths specified in header are subject to change and are based on the relative path of the calling page, problems arise. (Strangley, using the IFRAME method of including a header doesn't react the same way.)
The solution I believe lies in using absolute paths in the Header.asp file using the "virtual" include qualifier. But this assumes your development directory structure is the same as your production environment. So I guess that is the answer. Use absolute paths and set up your development directory structure to be identical to your production.
I currently have my database set up so that when a user uploads a file, it writes it in binary in the database. I know the benefits of having a separate file server and storing the path, but unfortunately, I can not do it that way.
I know how to include the file in, lets say, a hyperlink so that any user can click on the file to view it. But, I would like to know how to include the file (mainly pictures) directly into the page as an <img src> Any suggestions?
P.S. Once the information is in the database, these are the commands I use to output the file to a hyperlink. The file that this code is in is "file.asp?Id=" Where the Id is taken from the URL and used to obtain the correct file. I left out all the connection/cmd strings intentionally just show I could show the relevant information:
im wondering if there is a method/command which can be used so that when an asp page is called, it can 'explode' content from a text file (.txt) onto a web page, thus enabling a n00b to alter the text within the file, rather than the web page itself?
Further more, if I wanted to incorporate the text which is exploded into a CSS to give it some style flava, how would I do this? Is it possible?
I want to create an ASP page, which can copy the real PDF files into the clipboard and then the user can paste it in Outlook message as attachments(it's like inserting attachments)
My idea is: When user checked the checkboxes for the requested PDF files from ASP page and press the "Add To Clipboard" button, all requested PDF files will be copied into clipboard. Then, the user open MS outlook message and right click -> Paste all PDF files as attachments.
But, my code is just can copy the filepaths into clipboard not the REAL PDF FILES. How can I copy the REAL PDF FILES? Code:
I'm building a site which runs on 4 templates, each a different colour. I would like to pull in different content into each template using ASP.NET, similar to the php version of index.php?page=content.
I've not programmed in ASP before so am hoping someone can either supply me with a script or point me in the right direction.
I have a website that we display images we have saved into a SQL Server 2000 database as binary BLOB. This is on a Windows 2003 Server. Just recently (a week ago) this website began to save the images it is displaying on the website as ASP pages in the Temporary Internet Files > IE.Content > Folder.
We have other websites where we use the exact same code and these do not save files on the server when they are displayed.
Here is the code to display the image: Set rs = objConn.Execute( SQL ) Response.ContentType = "application/octet-stream" Response.BinaryWrite rs("Product_Image")
SQL is the SQL String to get the image from database
When I add this code:
Response.ContentType = "image/jpeg"
The images still display on the website, but now are saved in the Temporary Internet Files folder as JPG's.
Can a php file be executed inside an asp file? I need to execute a php file in another asp file but i'm not so sure it's possible. My server can run both asp and php and they run without any problems... I just need to find a way to include the execution results of the php file in the asp one. Is it possible to use SSI and include the executed php file and then the executed asp file in a main ssi file?
I have installed PWS in windows 98 in each of the system at various places and put my Sales program files in the WWWROOT directory in all the branches. I'm afraid that the users may tamper my ASP files. Is there any way of converting .ASP files to .exe files so that the dont see my program.
I have a database of songs listed as Title, Artist,Description, DiscNo and TrackNo with a seperate record in that format for each song.What I would like to do is search through them for the Description, show only the disc numbers in the results.
This I can do easily. Where I am lost is that I only want each individual disc number to show once. If I moveNext through the recordset, it shows the disc number 15 times per disc. Is there a filter I can add to limit this display?
Is there any way to input .asp code so that a specific element isn't show on a page? example: I don't want a menu on a specific product page, but I want it on all the others. Is there any code to input into a site wide includes file to implement this?
I have a ASP application which let user to download their reports in pdf format. I would like to show a progress bar, or change the mouse cursor to a hourglass while the user is waiting for the file. I create a page which will show me all the Regions from the table "RegionTable" where I have no information (empty fields) in on of the fields RegionDescription or RegionRank. It is to make my content managing easier. I do not want to see those records which contain all the necessary info (region description and rank). I tried the following code, but it does not work
qry = "SELECT * FROM RegionTable WHERE RegionDescription="" AND RegionRank="" "

I have a query that displays values from a db. The problem is that the value displays like this: R 6.5 instead of like this: R 6.50 How would I get it to show the full value?
I am using a Cdonts e-mail script that e-mails the results of a form to my address. It currently displays the data like:
Amount: 12.00 Percent: 2.00
I need it to say:
Amount: $12.00 Percent: 2.00%
How can I get the $ and % symbols to be included in the e-mail template without getting a 500 error?
Here is what I have:
Body = Body & vbcrlf & "Amount: " & request.form("amount") Body = Body & vbcrlf & "Percent: " & request.form("percent")
I've tried a few diffrent ways but here is one example:
Body = Body & vbcrlf & "Amount: $" & request.form("amount") Body = Body & vbcrlf & "Percent: " & request.form("percent")%
I've tried using / before the symbols and "" but everything I've tried keeps coming up with a 500 error. How can I add these symbols to my template so they will show up in the e-mail?
I know we have this thread somewhere, but I can't seem to find it now
I want to show the first 100 chars of a string, but I don't want a word to be cut in half at the end, it must show the whole word then and go a bit beyond 100 chars.
How do you print out all of the contents of an array if all you know is the array name? FOr example, I am looking at pre existing code that looks like this:Code:
scartItem2 = session("cartItem") arrCart2 = session("MyCart") For Z = 0 to scartItem2 cartfields2="&Email=YES" & "&processed" & z & "=" & arrCart2(cProductid,z) & "&quantity=" & arrCart2(cQuantity,z) What I need to find out is if there are ANY other elements other than cProductid AND cQuantity in this array and what their names would be so I can add them to the code.
I know that I could print out the values of the above by simply doing this:
response.write(cartfields2)
But how do I find out if there's a cFeature or any other element?
