I'm having a problem with a couple of things. The first is that I am using a loop to populate my table with the proper variables. When it comes across one that is empty it is leaving the cell blank.
The problem isn't that it is leaving it totally blank but that it isn't even putting an outline for the cell. This leaves huge chunks of white space here and there and looks bad. Code:

but from an ASP page, I get nothing not even an error. The Text output for
NET PRINT is a blank text file.
I feel something is different on the permissions side because this

When I use self.print the browser launches the print prompt, then I have to manually press print... DOes anyone know how to get around this.

All i want to do is have a form with 17 checkboxes that writes a value to the database. At this point I don't even care, true/false this/that 1/0 whatever! Setting the Access Database fields to yes/no was not working even 1 bit in the least. They would all be set to off no matter what.

I am using what seems to be a fairly simple calendar program that is ASP. I have been successful in adding fields to this App, but for some reason, I must be missing something because when I go into the program to edit an entry, one of the value's (Location) doesn't populate properly.

View Replies View RelatedI've got a mailing list script which loops through up to 20,000 database records, and fires a customised email out to each via the bulk mail queing function of JMail Pro (email component).
Never having tested this with anything other than 100 records, I'm very wary about executing the script in case it times out or starts to misfire.Is there anything anyone can recommend to make sure this process goes smoothly, perhaps even giving the user feedback whilst it's executing e.g. "sending messages 1-1000", "1001-2000" etc?
When I try to open an aspx file located on my computer it doesn't load properly (i.e not all objects are visible like text fields and such) and it gives me a syntax error stating that it expected a semi-colon (;) on one of the lines.
My page language is VB and so no semi-colon is required and when I load the file through my web server by typing

the page loads correctly and functions normally.
Several hard drive formats ago I was able to open aspx files with internet explorer without going through my web server. I am pretty sure I have everything installed like IIS 5.1 and the .NET framework.
I have a process that creates a whole bunch of files in a specified directory. The names of the files are the employee IDs with an .txt extension, so they are like

The background is a bit more complicated so I won't bore you with it, but I hope that I can add a button on the asp page that would
1) go to that specified directory, which is database-driven by the department id, such as

and I'll be able to figure the directory path from the existing code
2) then loop through each employee id and append the employee name, so the above will become

The employee names are also database driven and my asp page will be able to provide the information.

Ok, I've been hung up on this issue for quite some time now and I would
like some help in getting it to work. I think this may be a setup issue
but I'd like to ask your eminences first.
Here's some backstory: I need to create a VB.NET classlibrary (or another
structure) to use objects for our business logic. However, as our upgrade
is an ongoing process, I must enable this structure to be run in both ASPX
and ASP pages.
Here's what goes wrong: I create a new solution. Create two projects, one
a ASP.NET web app, the other a classLibrary. I put a basic hello world
object into the classlibrary then get a return string from it in both an
ASP and ASPX page. Yes, the classlibrary has the build option checked to
"register for COM interop."
Now, the ASPX page runs fine - but the ASP page gives me the following
cryptic error:

No error string. The error code, when googled, reveals that it's "file not
found." That's about as useful as a kick in the ass. What am I doing
wrong? Why can't my ASP page use this object? If I can only get this

business logic and data logic from the legacy ASP pages to an object-based
back end.

I have a textbox which I need to display the data stored in a variable called "fname".
So, what I've written is:

and, the textbox only ends up displaying "jason". So, anything after a space isn't displayed.What could be wrong? I know the <%=fname%> thing works, but that doesn't work within a Response.write.
The following code is not working properly in IE6 but it does work for mozilla firefox. I am trying to open a new popup window without affecting the frame from "where" it came. The script is supposed to take the user's login name (the form for this is name separated by underscores such as john_foo or lisa_wilson), split it at the underscores, and load first, middle and last name into an array. I am attempting to send an HTML email which a hyperlink that will change based on the user's session ID. I need the hyperlink to display as:

I am moving from a Windows 2000 Web Server to a Windows 2003 Server.I have converted all of my old CDONTS to CDOSYS with no problems. However,I am having major problems with getting my asp pages that have both MySQL and CDOSYS

Because I needed to store more than 4,000 characters, I decided to convert one field in SQL Server Database from nvarchar to ntext...now the field holds many more characters without a problem as I examined in my online manager.
But when I tried to display it on my asp page with

I'm using classic ASP. I made a change to a page and I got a Page Cannot Be Displayed error. I changed the code back and now I get the same thing. Other pages can run and access the db server.
I tried taking out includes and bypassing some code. I've also checked both the Application and Event logs on the server and there doesn't seem to be anything obvious there. I'm not using any components. Can anybody give me an idea as to the types of
things that cause this problem?
I've got an asp page that allows users to input quantities of certain items. When they click the "Total" button, the page is submitted to itself and a total for their selected items is displayed, similar to any online shopping cart.
When all items have been selected, the form is submitted, and their taken to the next page. If they choose the browser's "Back" button, or a "Cancel" button on the asp page, they get the Page Cannot Be Displayed Error. However, if they never update the total, and instead enter all the quantities and then submit the form, withing submitting back to itself, the browser's "Back" button and the asp "Cancel" button work fine.
It appears the back button doesn't work when the previous page has been submitted to itself. Does anyone have any suggestions? Is it a bug in my code or possibly an IIS issue?

View Replies View RelatedI get this page cannot be displayed every time i try to run ASP pages on Win 2k Server IIS5.1 . I know that the guy who's server it is had run a couple of lock down tools after his server's security was compromised.
Could this be part of the reason why? I had a look at his configuration and .asp files were pointing to 404.dll? I changed it to the asp.dll in inetsrv directory but that didn't help as well as restarting IIS.

Anyone with any internet account can access to the first site, but to enter to the 2nd, u need to have a special internet account (say, a certain supplier).
The general menu is on the Internet website, but one of the items in the sub-menu, links to a page On the INTRANET. If u r not authorized (=did not use the certain internet account), then u get the page "The page can not be displayed".
How do I redirect the "page can not be displayed" to the help page, and of course, redirect it ONLY when the "page can not be displayed" page is there b/c of linking from this sub-menu, or b/c of trying to reach directly to the Intranet certain URL that this sub menu links to.
I have a page that displays images. However, at times if I have changed the actual image but have kept the same name and src, the old image still displays when I run the page. I have cleared the files and cookies and sometines this helps but not always.
Is there something I can do to force a change?
I know this is a simple problem,what are all the causes of this problem? This occurs to only when I don't login to the web server.
